As Prophet - Chapter 162

Episode 162. The Chase
Dalcheon pushed away the men who rushed at him with his strength and jumped up. The situation was different from the morning. Since he was not surrounded by so many soldiers, he was in a situation where he could easily kill them.
I jumped over the men who were rushing in like waves and threw my remaining daggers at the one who was running away while doing somersaults in the air. The two daggers flew towards the hem of his white robe that was briefly revealed between the black uniform that covered him and the uniform. It didn’t seem possible because of the violent movements of running away in a hurry, but I thought I should do it while I could. Two white rays of light cut through the air.
One of them fell down while blocking the back, and another one hit his butt. There was a loud thud. He must have hit somewhere wrong. The guards dragged the screaming guy back behind the screen. Dalcheon jumped to the back of the main hall, touching the ground. A large screen blocked the front. Thinking that the guy would be around there, he swung his sword.
The sword bounced off the wooden frame and cloth-covered screen with a clang. It was also made of iron. Oh my! The screen was made of iron. No, it would be more accurate to say that a hole was made in the back to escape through, and then an iron plate was placed around it to make it look like a screen.
Dalcheon pushed the screen away with his heavy sword. The screen, which had not moved even when struck with a sword wrapped in black energy, fell backwards.
The folding screen fell to the floor with a crash and dug into the floor. But he was gone. He should have been there since he had turned around, but he had disappeared without a trace. He wouldn’t die if he was stabbed in the lower abdomen and buttocks, but he wouldn’t be okay.
Many unmanned people rushed in like mayflies. They knocked and pushed away, and looked down. Who in the world would make a top plate using such ironwork? Seeing the thick hinges on the bottom of the screen, it must have been used to hide underneath and then cover the top. They hid underneath.
How scary must he be to set up such a device wherever he goes? Dalcheon pulled himself up into the air. He rose to a height three or four times that of a person, and the guys who were rushing at him looked up at him like dogs chasing chickens. They didn’t pay any attention and drew up their inner strength, then crossed their swords toward the iron plate below. They added their inner strength to the force of their fall and struck down.
Dalcheon’s body, which had received the counterforce, was thrown into the air. Looking from the thick beam that crossed the air, I saw that the iron plate below where the guards had fallen was cut in a crisscross pattern like pieces of paper. There were corpses strewn about beneath it.
“Wow!”
Dalcheon fell down through the torn gap without another second thought. The thick iron plate had bent like a stick, and what Dalcheon found beneath the iron plate was the bodies that had died from being hit by the steel. Some had their balls burst, and some had their heads shattered.
And the downward slope revealed a black mouth.
Two guys jumped from above, cutting their waists before their feet touched the ground.
Phew!
Even in the dark underground, blood is bright red. While the guys hesitated to come down, Dalcheon entered the rock hole. The cave, which was as tall as a person, was facing down the slope. After confirming that no one was there, he ran like the wind. The evening sun cast its light on the exit. Was it already evening? The time that I don’t perceive passes faster than it actually is.
The two men guarding the exit rushed in. Dalcheon’s body was stuck to the ground, and he slid down as if he was going to fly, stabbing both sides. The men, who had not been able to adjust to the suddenly lowered height, fell on the spot.
I kicked open the door that was roughly woven with tree trunks and grass and went out. A hill appeared next to the road that went up the pharmacy street. The Dalcheon that was floating in the air due to the force of the exit looked into the distance.
Several men rode away from a distance, and three men blocked their way. Dalcheon pretended to fall and slam down, then, changing his speed, he touched the ground and jumped high and far.
A dozen or so people ran away, scattering in all directions. But they all looked the same. The ones wearing black uniforms had all disappeared, and the silver mask was on his gray robe. I couldn’t chase after them all. The gazes he looked back at as he ran away were different. It wasn’t him. I couldn’t see the injured one. I lost him again. He’s like a ghost.
Dalcheon sighed and went down to the ground. The guys going down the street, the guys running down the alley, and the guys going up the other side disappeared from sight in an instant.
Dalcheon closed his eyes and scanned his surroundings. If he had a feeling of the guy, he wouldn’t miss it. But he wasn’t there. There was no trace of him anywhere. He thought he had lost sight of what he had caught, but a group of soldiers came running.
“Where are you?”
“The water monster has run away. There’s a house with a big roof over there. Sweep it all away.”
“Loyalty!”
I turned around, looking blankly behind the soldiers who had rushed in. The weather was nice, and the sunset was beautiful. The red sunset spread out like a fan, dyeing the bottom of the clouds lined up toward the west red. The sun sets quickly when it sets in the west. The rays of light seem to last a long time because they are around, but if you look at them, they disappear quickly.
Another group of soldiers came running, and Dalcheon guided them in the same way. The ones who went ahead must have at least planted a signpost before they left, but they just ran. No matter how I try to look at it favorably, they lacked training. Not long after, Mukhyeong came running.
“True man!”
“I missed it.”
“How.”
“About ten guys who looked exactly the same scattered in all directions, but none of them were stabbed.”
“Have you been stabbed?”
“They also put a needle in each of my lower abdomen and buttocks.”
“Butt? Hehe, why of all places.”
“It was only visible behind the curtain of humanity. The loyalty is amazing.”
Mukhyeong tilted his head.
“Twisted loyalty, is that also loyalty?”
“They say that he is loyal to himself. He is loyal to himself. He sacrificed his life to block attacks with his body. I used to think he was just a greedy, bad guy, but I think I need to reconsider. There is something we don’t know.”
“What do those who rebel have in common?”
“… … .”
“Where do we go now?”
“Let’s take a look around.”
“If you have already missed it, don’t be too sorry. It is better to forget such things quickly.”
“No. That’s not the reason. He wasn’t among the ten disguised men. Then he might be nearby. The real one might have hidden, and the rest might have pretended to run away.”
“I see. But why are you just sitting there?”
“Since the guy is still, I also have to stop moving. That’s how you can see him. If you hurry and struggle any longer, you won’t be able to see him even if he’s right in front of you. Hey, stop asking and check if he’s nearby.”
“None. There is no visible silver surface nearby.”
Dalcheon hit his knee.
“That’s right! You managed to escape from the place where our men were guarding… … Ahem, then you must have taken off your mask.”
Dalcheon looked at the old people on the street of Yakjeon. They were all equally old. An old man wearing a short-brimmed hat sitting behind a stall with medicinal herbs was looking up blankly. Dalcheon covered the old man’s face with three fingers. It seemed as if he was saying three.
“What? Three, please?”
There were several piles of black rehmannia root on the old man’s table.
“No. Didn’t an old man like this run away with a stomach injury? A knife was stuck in his stomach.”
The old man chuckled. Asking questions is not for someone who wants to buy medicine. It doesn’t help business.
“If you tell me that… … .”
“Well, I’ll tell your Majesty and let you know that it was helpful.”
“You’re talking nonsense. What’s your lord doing in Yakjeon-gil? Oh my, business is not going well, so you should go.”
Dalcheon examined the old man’s stomach. He checked to see if there was any smell of blood, but all he could see was a frowning face. He looked around a few more places, but couldn’t find Eunmyeon.
“They say they’re going to attack everyone at midnight today.”
“What time is it? The palace?”
“Yes. I have to go back and make thorough preparations.”
“Are you going to stop tracking?”
“yes.”
Dalcheon went down. Another group of soldiers ran and ran to the same place. They had already subdued them, so a dozen or so were dragged out while being beaten. There were some who were screaming, and the soldiers beat them with spears and stepped on them, hitting them and stepping on them again, until they were subdued. They tied their hands and feet and tied them in a row, so they couldn’t walk properly. When one fell, three or four of them fell in front and behind them. People in the streets laughed at the ridiculous sight. If it weren’t for my suffering, the most fun thing in the world would be this.
Dalcheon went down a long way and then went into an alley. After going back and forth between alleys and climbing over a few walls, he went up to the roof where he could see his original spot and sat down comfortably.
“Oh my, if you go so fast, how can I keep up?”
Mukhyeong followed me up and sat down next to me, joking.
“Why? Are you suspicious?”
“I’m suspicious of the guy who was wearing a hat and setting up a stall earlier, and I’m also suspicious of the middle-aged man who was frozen stiffly next to him. They seem to be in the same group.”
“I see you over there. You’re really good at finding places with great views.”
“Because I live in a place with a nice view. Hehe.”
Dalcheon glanced at Mukhyeong, who was sitting next to him and pretending to be friendly.
“Are you all better?”
“Why? Are you feeling more shaky than before?”
“There has been a lot of talk.”
“Your Majesty has ascended to the throne. So I feel good.”
“Is this the original nature of humanity… … . Oh my.”
“It looks a little different.”
“It’s not good for a person’s personality to change so drastically. I shouldn’t say this, but they don’t live long.”
“You are speaking ill of me.”
“I am worried because I don’t see the same old forecast.”
“Well, it’ll get better.”
Was it because it was easy to talk that he ascended the throne? Dalcheon was looking at the old people at the stall, when several young people dressed similarly came and took away the old man who was selling Sukjihwang. However, he was unable to get up, and instead, he was supported by both sides and dragged along.
“There I go.”
“I will follow you from afar.”
“Is that you?”
“It seems so, but it’s true that he can’t walk properly. He even leaves his stall behind. It would be a shame if he really did business.”
I missed it right before my eyes.
Dalcheon jumped from roof to roof. Mukhyeong, who couldn’t keep up, got down from the roof, ran over the wall, and then climbed up the roof that Dalcheon had climbed. Just when he thought he had caught up, he jumped over again. There was no grasshopper.
Mukhyeong changed his strategy. He got down on the ground and followed her through alleys, yards, and fences. That was also a skill. He didn’t forget to climb up the fence every once in a while to check Dalcheon’s location.
A signpost was placed on the side of the road, and an old man selling Sukjihwang was pushed inside. A red light appeared on his long robe. He was a cunning old man. Dalcheon asked Mukhyeong, who came up while grumbling.
“No bow?”
Mukhyeong waved his hand.
“People like us don’t use things like that.”
It seems to be a kind of classification method. I even say such things after seeing how foolish such thoughts are in battle.
High-ranking officials of the second rank or higher preferred the open-air Sain-gyo, but the one he rode in had all sides blocked. Dal-cheon followed the Sain-gyo and got off on the road. This was because the men were gradually speeding up.
As I was going east and entering the alley, Dalcheon ran towards me. He ran like a ray of light and struck the center of the Sain-gyo Bridge. He cut down the people inside and the Sain-gyo Bridge.
Those who were holding the swords in front and behind rushed forward with their swords drawn. Dalcheon’s body swayed left and right, avoiding their attacks, and each time he stabbed them in the vital points, knocking them down. The man inside the split-in-two Sa-in-gyo collapsed, dead, with one shoulder cut off.
