Became an Evolving Space Monster - Chapter 187

Ep. 186
The activation conditions of the Revenant Engine are as follows:
Being attacked so fatally that you almost die.
The deadly attacks mentioned here do not include self-harm. They only trigger when an enemy or creature other than me attacks.
Not only that, once the wound heals, the revenant organ automatically enters a dormant state.
As the name suggests, it can only be used when you are in a state similar to death.
If you can successfully activate the Revenant Engine by satisfying these tricky conditions, you can enjoy truly groundbreaking effects.
When the Revenant Organ is activated, the cooldowns of all traits you have are reset. Additionally, all traits can be used without restriction during the duration.
Among the traits that Aimorph can obtain, those that have restrictions or cooldowns are usually unique traits or fusion traits.
In my case, the unique traits such as ‘Symbol of the Hunt’, ‘Nightmare Horizon’, and ‘Organic Evolution’ all had cooldowns.
There are two reasons why such a powerful trait has become a non-mainstream trait.
First of all, in order to properly use the Revenant Engine, it is meaningful to have multiple unique traits.
However, the unique trait is lost when the character dies. If you try to use this trait on purpose but are not careful, you will end up losing the unique trait.
The second reason is that the enemies also know of the existence of the Revenant Agency.
If you adjust your attacks so that the enemy cannot use this trait, you will become a burden.
The emphasis is on demanding conditions, risks of failure, and passive play.
No matter how groundbreaking it is, most players do not use this trait as their main, as the trait itself has serious flaws. They only use it as insurance or to bluff the enemy by pretending to have the trait.
Of course, as there are all kinds of people in the world, there are also people who actively try to use the Revenant Agency.
If you can perfectly control your stamina and perfectly predict your enemy’s strategies and attacks.
Those who meet these conditions can become true ‘returners’ and the owners of the Revenant Agency.
And I was one of those who met that condition.
Blood is flowing from his neck. It is an injury caused by Jason penetrating his body with a golden figure.
If it were a game, I wouldn’t have much stamina left right now.
This wasn’t a game, but I could feel the blood flowing through my body cooling down quickly.
My heart rate was dropping rapidly, and my brain was going crazy from the endorphins secreted due to extreme pain.
Since I came to this world, I have never been closer to death than now.
‘Everything is as expected.’
Since Jason took out his brain, I already expected that they would join forces. It was reasonable, aside from him pretending to be crazy and rushing at me.
Of course, I didn’t know that the technique of turning into a beam of light would be used for attack purposes. I expected it to be another psychic power technique.
Still, I could guess just fine where he was aiming.
‘This is reality, so I’ll go as safely as possible.’
When Aimorph’s brain is destroyed, he can no longer use his normal traits except for his passive traits. So, from his perspective, it is advantageous to create a situation where he can safely kill me even if he can’t kill me with one blow.
‘Or try to escape.’
The blood that was cold is gradually becoming warmer.
A small spark blooms in a dying heart.
The pain from my punctured throat was still there, but my body was now much different than it was a few seconds ago.
Every time Aimov’s heart beats, a special liquid is released from the organ attached to it. The liquid spreads through my blood vessels to every part of my body, like fire spreading through oil.
While changes were occurring in my body, the situation outside was changing rapidly.
Jason realized that I wasn’t dead and my colleagues started fighting to stop the bastard.
–
‘Crazy! You’re not dead yet?’
Jason gritted his teeth as he looked at the morphbox lying on the ground. Its thick carapace had completely crumbled as it de-gigantized, and it looked like it had stopped breathing when viewed from the outside.
But if the guy was really dead, Jason had to acquire the perk he had. If not, there’s only one answer.
That the bastard isn’t dead.
‘…Should I run away?’
Morphbak is always a being that makes surprise attacks at unexpected moments. It is highly likely that he is up to something right now.
‘What if not?’
If it were a game, then I wouldn’t know, but in reality, can we really say that Morphbak caused a situation where his life was in danger?
There is nothing more foolish than running away when the guy is really in danger.
Jason was troubled. The desire to immediately ‘purify’ and ‘condemn’ the bastard and cut his head off coexisted with the thought that he had to run away.
‘No. There’s no need to take unnecessary risks.’
I got a lot of information I needed while fighting him. If I bring my other comrades, I will definitely be able to catch him.
With that in mind, he tried to activate the ‘third special feature’.
‘huh?’
His body, which was being consumed by blue particles, stopped for a moment. Some unknown force was blocking him.
“You! Where are you going after hurting the big baby!”
A wave of intense emotion struck his head. He turned his head and saw the Sea Demon under Aimov’s control.
Similar to Aimov, its body was a near-black purple color and was covered in hideous eyes.
A great darkness fell over him as hundreds of eyes watched him.
‘The horror of the deep sea!’
Jason quickly used his psychic power technique to defend against the mental attack. For a brief moment, the world was plunged into darkness, but it was quickly lifted.
If it was a normal seed demon, it wouldn’t have been so easy to release, but that seed demon seemed weak.
‘Handicapped… Huh?!’
When the light of the world returned, a green light flew towards him. Unable to perceive it properly due to the fear of the deep sea, he was hit by the green creature’s charge.
“Big man” “Injury” “Forgiveness” “No way!”
“What the heck!”
Jason cursed as he saw the Green Gallagon flying up after hitting him.
‘Anyway, they only gathered similar people together.’
Half-penny Mr. Demon, the handicapped Green Gallagon, and the shitty Morphbak’s fellow comrades were all retards.
‘I’ll tear off those wings.’
As Jason reached out, the golden figure transformed its arm into a whip and swung it at the flying Green Gallagon.
Just as his attack was about to land, a blue ball of energy flew out from somewhere and struck the whip. The area hit by the energy bullet disappeared as if it had never existed in the first place.
“what?”
“Enemy. Excluded.”
A hideous monster was seen upon the broken carapace of the Aimorph, its tail raised towards the sky.
‘Why is it here… No, more than that, why is it following Morphbak’s orders?’
Although its appearance was very different, it was a mixture of machine and organism, so it was definitely the mutant Screamer that Chloe was developing.
‘Could it be that your memory has been restored? No, I said that would never happen?’
Jason knows what the mutant Screamer is made of. The original of that monstrosity, with its many genetically mixed fragments, is related to him.
But his worries could not continue any longer, because a beast with golden fur rushed at him.
A griffon with white hair and golden fur passed by, cutting through his belly.
“What?!”
Jason was startled by the sudden pain in his abdomen. It was a cut to his armor, made from the scales of a Black Gallagon.
The being that had stabbed Jason in the stomach was holding a golden spear in its beak.
‘The Golden Spear of the Priest!’
I know that Muriel was trying to get that weapon while she was out to rescue the Wolf slave. Seeing the griffon holding that weapon made it easy to guess who it was.
“Do you remember me? I had Muriel kill my family.”
“That damn Wolf bastard….”
Although Black Gallagon’s armor allowed him to quickly heal his wounds, the fact that he had been attacked by surprise did not go away.
He spread his left hand towards the griffon in annoyance. Gravity Control was deployed, generating a massive amount of gravity over a wide area.
“Huh!”
The ice on the floor cracked and the griffon’s movements slowed down drastically. On top of that, when the ‘binding’ was applied, the thing couldn’t move. In that state, the golden figure was about to cut it with his sword, but it was interrupted again.
“You bad boy! Don’t bully the middle child!”
“Tsk.”
A transparent thread bound his body. Jason used ‘Morta’, which nullified the enemy’s psychic skills, to free the Sea Demon from its bonds.
“Don’t bother me, you idiot!”
As he shook his hand in annoyance, the golden figure slashed at the demon’s body with a sword. The blow cut off several tentacles, causing the creature’s body to turn white.
“Little adult!”
“You get out too.”
Green Gallagon flew in upon seeing this, but Jason used Reflection to deflect the creature’s body. Green Gallagon’s wings were badly broken as it hit an invisible wall.
As he was about to finish off the groaning man who had fallen to the ground, a mutant Screamer approached him and opened its mouth to bite his arm.
“It’s useless… Ugh?!”
He thought he would be fine since he was protected by the armor, but he was wrong. Jason almost collapsed in an awkward manner as his strength was sucked out in an instant.
‘What a Fuckingreaver!’
Realizing that his opponent had absorbed the Blood Reaver, Jason immediately swung the Purifier in his right hand. The blade made of black flames cut through the mutant Screamer’s leg.
“Kirik, movement is impaired.”
“Fuck, I’ll kill you even if you’re disabled and have no legs!”
A truly enraged Jason swung his sword vigorously. With each flash of the black blade, the mutant Scrummy’s legs were brutally cut off.
The thing lost most of its legs in an instant and fell to the ground. Jason was furious and started to slash at the thing’s body.
“Tch. What a piece of shit.”
He spat on the fallen Screamer and retrieved the purification.
After clearing out Morphbak’s men in a short time, he approached the Griffin, who was unable to move. The Griffin was glaring at him with a spear in its beak.
“That window is more than enough for you.”
The spear trembled as he opened his hand and activated his psychic power. The griffon kept its beak shut, trying not to let go, but it was no use.
“Ugh!”
The sleek golden beak twisted and eventually broke. He picked up the javelin that had fallen to the ground along with the broken pieces of the beak.
‘That’s fine. Oh, by the way, there are special perks for being a player, right?’
He was thinking about taking the griffon with him when he suddenly heard laughter. The griffon with its broken beak was laughing at him.
“Are you crazy?”
“Ugh, ugh, ugh ugh, you little punk.”
“It’s already difficult if I go crazy. I have so many things I want to do.”
“Heh heh heh, is that really possible?”
“That’s what I have to say. How can you be so stubborn while being tortured… Heuk!”
Before he could finish his sentence, Jason vomited blood. As the blood flowed, he was struck by a pain he had never felt before.
Looking down, I saw a huge bone poking out of my chest.
“What is this…?”
His head slowly turned. There stood the master of the bone blade.
“You, you little punk…!”
The being that stabbed him with an arm with a bone blade protruding from its back.
It was Aimov in a new form.
