Black Badger - Chapter 332
Only Noblemtl
332. Twist (2)
What’s astonishing is that I can’t even detect what emotion I’m exactly feeling.
But I definitely transferred my emotions. Just as I had felt emotions spill over onto Kyle when Clyde stabbed me in the neck, I unintentionally spilled my emotions onto my own people.
What could have been transferred?
It must never have been a happy feeling.
Fortunately, the transfer was stopped quickly.
I trembled with the shame and guilt that the memory brought up.
“Hilde.”
So when I woke up, I was relieved to see Yoon looking down at me indifferently.
“Are you awake?”
I saw a shooter sitting next to the bed.
A pale and quiet space.
I didn’t quite grasp the situation. My memories were spotty. I remember hearing Samuel’s irritated nagging as I entered the core. I also remember waking up in the intensive care unit and confirming that the mission was completed safely.
My fever still hasn’t gone down?
“Yoon.”
When I called his name, Yoon slightly raised his eyebrows.
I cleared my throat.
“What happened?”
“Don’t you remember being shocked?”
Yoon said.
“Acute sepsis. But I got over it.”
“Did you get a shock?”
Yoon nodded his head.
I let out a long breath.
And I thought it was fortunate that the person next to me was Yoon. He was the kind of person who would deal with the situation objectively without getting upset.
In fact, the shooter went and called Samuel silently.
Samuel ran over and checked various things, including drawing blood, before letting out a sigh of relief.
“We’ve overcome the crisis. All we have to do is recover.”
“Thank you always, Doctor.”
“Say thank you to the kids who were worried and rolling their feet.”
The doctor scribbled something on the pad.
“Don’t you know how worried the kids were? They kept watch over us for five days straight. When our condition worsened three days ago, they were so shocked.”
5 days?
My mouth fell open.
“Has it been five days?”
“uh.”
Samuel briefly explained the situation.
It was simple. I just got acute sepsis. My fever and inflammation levels were soaring, and I was on the verge of death. I don’t remember exactly, but… My fever was up to 40 degrees and I was half-conscious.
But now the doctor smiled slyly, saying that the inflammation levels have dropped a lot.
“Grow more.”
He said that to me, and this to Yoon.
“Call me if anything happens.”
Then he disappeared out of the hospital room.
Once again, Yoon and I were left alone. The hallway was extremely quiet. I was admitted to a double room. There was definitely a patient in the bed next to me, but he was currently away.
The person sharing the room will soon find out.
More than that… .
He lifted his hand, which was dangling something, and touched Yoon’s arm.
“I’m sorry for worrying you. Could you explain to me what I missed during the past five days?”
“For now, the mission is over, there are injuries but no deaths.”
Yoon glanced at the watch on his wrist.
A space with a clear presence of white light bulbs. It seemed like the sun had set outside the curtains.
He nodded and asked.
“Can you explain to me how I went wild?”
“why?”
A look of puzzlement appeared on Yoon’s face.
“What difference does it make if I know?”
“I wonder if we can get a better idea of how to stop the runaways.”
I told a decent lie.
Because I thought he wouldn’t understand if I told him that I was going to listen and apologize to my seniors. He would probably say, ‘I didn’t mean to, so there’s no need to apologize.’
Yoon observed me with his sharp black eyes.
“okay.”
I think I said the right answer.
“From beginning to end?”
“yes.”
Yoon did so.
Throughout his speech, no value judgments were made. Even when he said that he had made his junior say ‘I love you’, and when he said that he had been hit by me and his insides were torn but he had recovered within 5 minutes, no emotion was felt in his voice.
Just listening to it made my stomach turn.
Only after Yoon finished speaking did he seem to notice that I was covering my face with my hands.
“what’s the matter?”
When I opened my eyes again, I was glad to see that it was Yoon.
“no.”
He put his hand down and muttered.
“I’m sorry, Yoon. Even though it wasn’t my intention, I apologize for tearing your intestines apart with my fist and strangling you.”
“Oh, okay. There’s no need to apologize though.”
“… Other people… .”
“I’m guarding the spot as I go back, so I’ll be back when the time comes.”
“ah.”
“The rescue team and Jonathan Kudo took their turns. Your subordinates were there along the way.”
The last addition was strange.
I blinked, trying to understand what Yoon was saying.
Yoon crossed his legs and added, perhaps noticing the look of disunderstanding on my face.
“You said you didn’t want to meet your subordinates. Don’t you remember?”
He covered his face with his hands again.
I don’t remember. I don’t remember, but I think I said something like that.
I felt sick with shame and guilt.
What kind of emotions came out?
He grabbed his head without removing his hands from his face.
What could I have so arbitrarily passed on to them? I wanted to ask, but I didn’t have the courage to ask, and I didn’t want to face the problem right away.
“I think so.”
So I just mumbled.
“Thank you for coming. I know you’re busy.”
Yoon just shrugged his shoulders.
Then he didn’t speak to me for a while. He crossed his arms and observed me carefully as I lay on the bed.
The silence was quite welcome.
I too was lost in thought, looking at the ceiling.
As soon as I opened my eyes, the information that poured in was overwhelming. The things I had done to my superiors and to my own people all weighed heavily on my stomach.
My sixth sense was still empty. I could not feel any of the malicious feelings that my enemies had been sending me.
Ricardo was right. Forgetting and losing are two different things.
But I didn’t have the courage to face the problem now.
Let’s just assume that the damage will eventually be repaired since Clyde didn’t finish removing the leaf veins.
I turned my attention back.
“Yoon.”
“why.”
“Is Ye-Hyeon busy?”
“quite.”
Then it will be difficult to come and visit you.
Since I wouldn’t be able to meet him in person, unlike other people, I decided to ask his closest aides.
“Is Yehyun okay?”
The shooter again looked as if he didn’t understand.
“For ordinary people, it would be quite shocking to stab someone they know with their own hands. And besides, doesn’t Ye-Hyeon have the trauma of stabbing Seung-Hyeon Lee?”
“ah.”
Only when I explained it did Yoon say he understood.
He nodded slowly.
“In that sense, he’s fine.”
“Is that so?”
“Yeah. I guess it wasn’t as shocking as when Seunghyun Lee stabbed you because you were prepared for it. When you were on the verge of death from sepsis, you were half-conscious, but he wasn’t the only one who felt that way.”
“Ah… that’s a relief.”
“I call him Oedipus these days.”
Are you crazy?
If only I had the strength, I would have raised my upper body.
I was so weak that I just opened my jaw wide.
Yoon looked at my shocked face and smiled.
“He was grumbling a little bit and telling me to stop teasing him.”
This guy is really….
I was shocked, but I felt a little better after hearing what he said.
Yoon wasn’t the kind of person who would lie and say something was okay when it wasn’t. Since it was about Ye-Hyeon, it wouldn’t be an answer born of indifference.
I let out a long breath.
“What happened to Jin?”
“I don’t know much about that, it’s under the jurisdiction of the human resources manager.”
“… my fellow countrymen.”
Actually, I didn’t ask this expecting an answer.
But surprisingly, the shooter gave a fairly detailed answer.
“The bookkeeper is acting as an advisor to the executives, the wife of the pharmaceutical company president is said to have returned to headquarters for a while, and that pillar of a man is holed up in your cabin.”
thank god.
Everyone seems to be doing pretty well as usual.
“The redhead is usually in the hospital lobby all day.”
“yes?”
What does this mean?
“Why?”
I asked stupidly.
Yoon looked at me intently.
“I don’t know.”
“No… What is this… What are you doing there? You’re not just going to sit there, are you? You’re just going to sit there for a bit and then leave?”
“No. It’s there all day every day.”
“everyday?”
What on earth are you doing?
Why is a guy who can’t even see with his left eye standing there?
I don’t remember being irrational or sentimental enough to do something so meaningless.
Aren’t there much more meaningful things to do than what you’re doing now?
Yoon said, as if he could clearly see how dumbfounded I was.
“I guess it’s my job to hear from you as soon as possible. That watchdog-like man seems to be in charge of looking after your cabin.”
“News? There’s no need to sit around down there like that to hear it.”
“Isn’t that something you want to hear as soon as possible?”
“But is it in the lobby?”
“You kicked me out.”
ah.
“…What did I say to kick you out then?”
“I told them to send their own people away. I hope they don’t stay nearby,” he muttered, his voice rising with excitement.
“…How did you react?”
“They said they would take good care of me and then disappeared all at once.”
At that moment, I felt like crying.
I thought about the long time they had waited for me, and the games they had created while suppressing their despair during that time.
I thought of all the ridiculous excuses they made up to stay in the cabin.
But I just don’t have the courage to face it.
I know it’s pathetic, but I just can’t bring myself to see them in this condition.
“Are the people who were taken hostage doing well?”
So, even though I knew it was cowardly, I changed the conversation to a different topic.
I tried not to think about the minister sitting in the lobby right away.
The shooter rose slowly from his seat.
“That’s also why the situation outside is so hectic right now.”
“yes?”
“But I think it would be better to hear that from the person I share a hospital room with rather than from me.”
Who is that?
What do you mean by busy? Just as Samuel was about to ask back, the door he had closed opened and someone came in.
A man wearing a hospital gown and black slippers.
A man who looked a little more tired than usual, though still clean-cut, smiled as he held the ringer.
I widened my eyes to see an unexpected person.
“Aide?”
“Hilde. You’ve worked hard.”
Scar Owen came in with a cool smile, dragging the ringer.

Jonathan Kudo replaced Yoon.
Scar left Jonathan waiting outside the hospital room for a moment.
“I have something to tell Hilde.”
Jonathan looked like a little kid who had his game console taken away from him for a moment, but eventually complied.
The senior stared at me intently and then closed the hospital room door.
“Speak moderately and put him to sleep.”
“I get it.”
Scar, sitting on his bed, waved his hand and bit Jonathan.
The hospital room door closes loudly.
The silence came. I waited for my boss, who turned his head with a faint smile, to speak.
“Do you have the energy to talk?”
With my intuition from having been in the organization for quite some time, I knew that he was about to bring up work.
It didn’t seem like an insignificant story, since it was a story that even Jonathan had to endure.
He nodded.
“Yes. Please speak comfortably.”
“I’m sorry. I’m just now coming to my senses as a seriously ill patient… If you’re tired, just tell me. It’s not urgent.”
“Please tell me. Is it possible that your hospitalization was related to this issue?”
“No. I was hospitalized after being hit by Jae-yeon.”
what?
Scar smirked as I blinked in confusion.
“Don’t you know by now that he has periodic seizures?”
“I knew it… I thought you only did that to the Commander.”
“He hates all the leaders who received his biometrics. Usually he hits the leader. I was in the core during this mission, so this time I got hit.”
Does this make sense?
I furrowed my brow in thought, but Scar changed the subject, saying that this was not important and that we should finish talking later.
“First, let’s talk about some of the hostages who came back brainwashed.”
Scar Owen continued, watching me open my eyes calmly.
“Let’s continue with Kyle’s story. I think he has an ulterior motive.”
