Are Shingi descendants of dragons?
At dawn, someone knocked on the door. Shingi opened the door and saw a man with his face covered with a cloth bowing his head. Shingi had already dressed, so he followed the man. Including Shingi, there were five of them.
“I’ll only stay in Hwangsan for three days. I’ll come back when I find the monster’s nest.”
The 450-mile distance from Ankyung to Hwangsan is based on records. In reality, if you don’t follow the road but go in a straight line, it will be much shorter. And in fact, they were following that shortcut.
“Rest, the monster will move again once it passes.”
Contrary to the idea that they would have to walk all day, they were able to take breaks here and there. Shingi confirmed that a group of monsters were passing by on the opposite ridge. Once all the monsters had passed, they quickly headed to the monsters’ transit point.
Those who had not found a body, whether they had expected a monster corpse or not, looked greatly disappointed. However, they did not waste time searching for the body and moved right away. It was an unlucky day, but they had seen a group of monsters three times, and not a single body was left behind.
At around 3pm, they went straight to sleep. They stood guard one by one, and Shingi was naturally excluded. When they woke up again, it was around 10pm. They moved by moonlight, and when the moonlight was obscured by clouds, they used magic lanterns to light the way.
This group of monsters was the first time Shingi had seen them. Among the low-level monsters, there were two monsters that did not visit the Korean peninsula. The cow-like Daemu and the Black Daepung were seen in Africa. However, the sheep-like Dangun and Jinrang were the first time Shingi had seen them. Dangun was almost the same as a regular mountain goat, but Jinrang had many straight horns.
They found three corpses in the previous location. As if they had expected it, they immediately started mining magic stones without even celebrating. Low-level monsters don’t bleed, but they do have bodily fluids. After finishing mining magic stones, they wiped their hands with the cloths they had prepared beforehand and started running.
“No rest until the next destination.”
The leader ran in front and turned his head frequently to check on the status of the god. As the god followed along well, the leader, relieved, increased his speed a little. When they reached their destination, the leader pulled out one of his tails and called the group together.
Everyone held their hands on the tail and held their breath. After thinking for a while, Shingi was finally able to figure out what the tail was. It was a level 4 monster called Gido, about 1 meter in size, and looked like a crow. However, it had three heads, so it couldn’t fly. It’s rare for all three heads to face the same direction, so it couldn’t fly.
And it has six tails on its bird-like body. Its tails have the ability to eliminate any presence within a certain range, but the ability disappears over time. The current tail probably doesn’t have much effect left. That’s because it’s obvious that someone is touching it.
After about 20 minutes, the Bihwang and Jeolgun ran, showing off hooves bigger than a person’s head. Unlike the Monggui and Hamseon who like to gather together, the Bihwang and Jeolgun like to run apart. Even if wild horses run in groups of this size, it would be scary, but when the monsters run in groups of tens of thousands, it would be difficult for even a strong heart to endure.
The corpse hunters had all experienced life and death at least once, and Shingi was calm and composed, trusting in Bingryong. The leader watched Shingi until all the monsters had passed, worried that he would make a sudden move. After all the monsters had passed, he ran forward without even checking the corpses.
If we can pass this group of monsters in time, despite the risk, our next schedule will be safe. From then on, Shingi was able to leisurely watch the group of monsters from a distance. He was a little scared when he crossed the valley relying on three ropes, but he didn’t lose any time.
After three days, I arrived at Hwangsan and felt a sense of emptiness. They said the area was over a thousand, but that area was not the surface area but the flat surface area. If you calculate the surface area of the mountain, it could be over ten thousand. I looked at the towering peaks and wondered how I could find the wisdom of the gold dragon.
‘Wait a minute. You said it was in the hands of the Mosando priest? Then does that mean someone is living here?’
“Have you ever found any traces of humans in Hwangsan?”
The corpses did not answer Shingi’s question. Instead, they answered with a look like they were looking at a crazy person. Shingi gave up his hope of solving the quest easily, as the answer left no room for misunderstanding. If he didn’t find it in three days, he could come back again.
There were no low-level monsters in Hwangsan. Low-level monsters have several characteristics, including the fact that they keep moving somewhere. Even when they stay in one place, they don’t stay in one place, but move according to a certain pattern. If there were low-level monsters, the party would have already detected their presence.
“The absence of low-level monsters means that this is the territory of high-level monsters. You came here to find the nest of high-level monsters. It looks fun, so I’ll help.”
There are many cases where high-level monsters mix with low-level monsters. However, they only have similar appearances. Cheon-gu mixes with Shi-gu and Han-ro, and Gung-gi uses the same area as Dae-mu and Heuk-dae-pung, but they have something in common in that they resemble dogs or cows.
“Excluding the horse-like Sukho and Park, and the cat-like Hwan, this environment doesn’t suit fish-like monsters, so it must be a bird-like monster.”
There are quite a few monsters that look like tigers, boars, or monkeys. However, if they are such monsters, they have already found the nest. The monsters that look like birds, which are easy to spot but have a wide range of activities, are more likely to be their targets.
‘Bingryong, can you feel the monster’s energy?’
Shin-gi looked into the corpse hunters’ eyes filled with shock and asked Bing-ryong a question.
‘You can sense the aura of a monster about forty miles away. Just turn slightly upward from the direction the sun rises.’
“In my experience, bird-like monsters like high places. What’s the name of that peak over there?”
“One is Cheondobong Peak and the other is Yeonhwabong Peak. I searched them but found no monsters.”
Monsters don’t eat or poop. So it’s not easy to find traces of monsters. Shingi can’t say that Bingryong sensed the monster’s energy. So he decided to be stubborn.
“According to my extensive experience, there is definitely a monster on those two peaks. If you don’t find the monster within three days, I will give you one gold coin each.”
The corpses nodded at Shingi’s claim. He took a few magic stones and received ten gold coins as compensation for his guidance. Since Shingi had already given the broker two gold coins, there was no need to pay him extra. If he found a monster, it would be good, but if not, he would only get one gold coin, so there was no loss at all.
After finding the monster, Shingi will report it to the military, and when the military’s special forces kill the monster, he will come with them to find out where Mosan Dosa is. Even if the high-level monster disappears, the low-level monsters will not come. And the military will also designate this area as a management area. This is because after killing the high-level monster, a new high-level monster will come after a certain period of time.
After walking for a while, the leader of the corpse men shook his head and threw away the prayer tail. It had lost its effect. After that, the god moved very carefully with them. So when they arrived at Cheondo Peak, it was already night.
The group found a cold valley and camped out. Since monsters hate cold places, it is common sense to camp out in the cold and cool outdoors. After filling their stomachs with dry food, they set up a guard and went to sleep.
Shin-gi woke up immediately when someone tapped his cheek. When he opened his eyes, he was in a cave with corpses lying on one side. A young man of his age, wearing colorful clothes, was looking at Shin-gi with amusement.
When I moved my body, I found that I was tied with a rope.
‘Bingryong, freeze the rope.’
Bingryong remained silent at the call of the divine spirit. The divine spirit felt that something was wrong. When faced with a crisis, the divine spirit’s intuition began to run wild.
“Huh? You’re over five hundred years old?”
Shingi spoke out loud at the information that his intuition had given him. The young man wearing strange clothes who looked like his age was over five hundred years old. The young man nodded at Shingi’s words.
“Indeed, he is truly the descendant of the dragon. Our Mosanpa has finally seen the light.”
“What do you mean, descendants of dragons?”
Shingi’s intuition told him that it was not a life-threatening situation. As his mind calmed down a little, curiosity suddenly arose. Mosan Dosa answered Shingi’s question excitedly.
“Do you know the Emperor? He is the one we, the people of the Korean Empire, revere as our ancestor.”
As Shingi nodded, Mosan Dosa quickly continued speaking.
“He is the Dragon Man. He is a dragon in human form.”
“Are you saying that I am a descendant of the Emperor?”
The monk Mosan nodded vigorously. He was worried about his cervical spine since he was five hundred years old.
“Are you mistaken? I am a descendant of Chiyou.”
The Shin family considers Chiyou as their ancestor. In fact, the family claims that it is Shinyou, not Chiyou. Shinyou, who was raised and educated that way since childhood, forgot his own situation and asked again.
“Chiwoo is a human dragon. The descendants of a human dragon cannot contain the energy of a dragon.”
I was curious about the difference between Yong-in and In-ryong. However, Mosan Do-sa answered Shin-gi’s curiosity without even asking, as if he was happy to meet his conversation partner.
“The Emperor is a dragon in human form. In fact, the Emperor has a tail. He took human form and put the remaining dragon characteristics into his tail.”
“Chiyou is a human, but he has the power of a dragon. If Chiyou had won then, the fate of this world would have flowed properly, but it is not that there is no chance to correct it. You can become the new emperor and properly twist the fate of the world.”
‘Damn, the DPP mistook me for the Emperor’s descendant because I had 1 left.’
The remaining 1 Dragon Power Point that was not used caused Mosan Dosa to misunderstand. At first, he thought it was because he misunderstood Bingryong’s energy, but his intuition told him the answer.
“Do I have the power to change the fate of the world?”
Mosan Dosa shook his head fiercely. He seemed to be a person whose emotions were very intense.
“Your power is very weak, but you can use it as a spark to change the fate of the world. I will make you the emperor of the Korean Empire. However, you must pass one simple test.”
Mosan Dosa took out a golden earring and put it on Singi’s left ear. When the earring disappeared and only a tattoo was left on Singi’s ear, Mosan Dosa clapped his hands in joy.
“These earrings are the Emperor’s heirloom. Since you have passed the final test, I will make you the Emperor of the Korean Empire.”
I unintentionally completed the quest. However, freedom did not come to Shingi. After burning a strange incense, Mosan Dosa spoke to Shingi.
“If you follow my orders obediently, you will become an emperor and a hero who saves the world. However, there have been children who could have been heroes in the past who failed to listen to me and ruined things. So, for the time being, please stay here quietly.”
