Chapter 20. Patriot (11)
The black leopard came up to the rooftop and nursed its cub. The mother yawned a couple of times and lay down with her eyes closed. It seemed like he had come up looking for a safe place to breastfeed.
“Let’s go first.”
I gently grabbed Cassandra’s wrist. To her horror, Cassandra barely nodded her head. She left as quickly as she could without making a sound.
We rode the electric bike again and went to our destination. There weren’t many zombies to be seen.
“Could it have been eaten?”
I’m not sure how many carnivores there were in the zoo and how many of them survived after becoming zombies.
Then, traveling by electric bicycle felt like a dangerous task. We may be able to easily get rid of zombie humans, but can we take on beasts that run on all fours?
I think I will have to answer sooner than I thought.
Me and Cassandra were moving along the road. The four-lane road was quite wide, and it was possible to easily bypass most obstacles.
Until I met the lion.
“For some reason, there was nothing.”
Of course, it is standing in the way of our progress.
The lion’s appearance was not a horse. He must have jumped in and out of a fire somewhere, so half of his face was scorched and blistered. The golden hair that had grown back flashed between the blackened mane.
“Growl.”
Despite this, he glares at me and Cassandra with both normal and gray eyes. Of course, he was already infected. There was a pile of bones at his feet. Most of them seemed to be human.
– Hee, hee hee….
Cassandra’s suffocating voice. I aimed the submachine gun at the lion. MP45 submachine gun. It’s good for fighting zombies, but can you catch a half-burnt lion with this?
“Cassandra.”
– Ugh, huh?
“Is there a fire?”
– Fire? Oh, no. Uh, I don’t have one….
I let my guard down. I thought it would be enough to just look at the house briefly, and I was confident I could do it without difficulty. If I had known this would happen, I would have brought an automatic rifle.
“Growl….”
A zombie lion walks out in front of his pile of bones. But he didn’t come any closer. He seemed to be exploring us. Are they things that should be ignored, monsters that have come to take over one’s territory, or prey that approaches without knowing what to do? The first two are okay, but the third is not.
“Cassandra. “Listen to me carefully.”
I conveyed my strategy in a low voice. Cassandra looked very confused, but she replied, ‘Ha, I can do it.’
Then it is done. I screamed.
“Lion!”
Hey lion… Hey lion… Hey lion…
Echoes spread between the buildings. The lion frowned, feeling very uncomfortable.
“Me! Get there! I have to pass by! A little! “Get out of the way!”
“Crrr!”
Birds were flying from somewhere. I could also hear the sound of an unidentifiable animal screeching. The lion shook his big head. The completely burned half and the intact half formed a strange harmony.
“Get out of the way!”
While shouting, he pushed the electric bike forward. Top speed. He drove straight towards the lion. Fortunately, there are no obstacles between the lion and the bicycle.
Despite the sudden acceleration, the bicycle ran forward well. The lion jumped up.
“Now!”
I threw myself next to the bicycle. I boldly took off, trusting the rider’s jacket, helmet, and bag. Although it greatly reduced the impact, it was so painful that I had to grit my teeth.
But the pain went away when I saw the lion’s front paw smashing the front wheel of the bicycle. Excited. Excited. My temples throbbed as if I was about to jump. I raised my MP 45 and aimed at the bicycle.
Battery.
An overcharged battery may explode. So what would it be like if you got hit by a bullet?
The stray bullet got stuck in the lion’s head. The lion shook his head violently as if he was annoyed. The battery seemed to be crushed, but then it exploded with a bang. It was right in front of the lion.
“Cow! Wow! Wow!”
The guy hurriedly retreated, letting out a very loud scream. It was as expected. Because he was severely burned by fire, he was sensitive to explosions. Even after becoming a zombie, memories of fear still seem to remain.
“Cassandra!”
Cassandra’s bike stopped next to me. I barely managed to stand up with her support, but I guess my back was strained and the sound came out on its own.
“Are your legs feeling tired? “What do you feel?”
Cassandra asked quickly. I pressed my leg a couple of times. I didn’t feel much. Instead of waiting for Cassandra’s answer, she hugged me violently.
“Lean on Cassandra!”
He sat on the bike while hugging me. I left without even a chance to utter a word. The world before her eyes was moving away from me. It’s because of an optical illusion.
“Hug me tight! “Don’t fall!”
Cassandra shouted into my ear. She was right. I don’t know if I rode in the same direction as her, but I’m riding on her right now. If you sit awkwardly, your bike will lose its balance.
The speed of the bike was not as fast as I expected. It seemed like there were two people riding it. Above all, it was a bit difficult to hang on. Her breasts were so big that it was difficult to get a close fit. Cassandra grabbed my waist from behind and pulled me towards her. It was to the point where the fathers of the nation were touching each other.
I saw a lion coming to his senses from behind and running towards me.
“Ka, Cassandra.”
I was out of breath.
“Tell me.”
“From behind, a lion…” . Speed….”
“Shoot it!”
There was a submachine gun in his arms. But it was strangely light. I stroked the lower part of the gun with an ominous feeling. There is no magazine. It looks like it fell off earlier.
“Pistol.”
The pistol is inside the jacket. With Cassandra’s body pressed against hers, it was difficult to stretch that far. Cassandra shouted.
“Left thigh!”
I reflexively smoothed her thighs. Ereta’s pistol was captured. My body didn’t listen very well, but it was easier than pulling the pistol out of my jacket.
The lion was following, dripping blood and saliva. I calmly waited for him to jump. The skin and skull of an animal are thick enough to stop a bullet, but the same cannot be said for the muscles in the mouth and throat.
The speed of the bicycle has slowed down a bit. The lion opened its mouth and jumped upward. He quickly fired two shots. The lion closed his mouth and rolled around on the ground. As if I had been waiting, the world behind me quickly moved away.
“Gawk, gag….”
Although my arms were weak, I did not let go of the gun. I felt like my eyes were spinning.
“You can’t lose your mind!”
Cassandra let out a scream that was almost like a yell, but she couldn’t hear it very well. For a moment, her free left hand was held in her hand.
“What are you doing…” .”
Cassandra placed her hand on her heart.
“Quick, quick, quick, tidy….”
In response to her mess, I spread out my palm and lightly pressed it. A strange moan came out. Of course, both of them were wearing helmets and earphones and headsets, so their strange breathing was circling in their ears. The pain disappeared and I came to my senses. The world was moving away from me quickly, but that didn’t matter.
“Ah. Ahhh…. Okay, it tickles….”
I wanted him to do one of two things, either let go of my hand or stop squirming, but it was difficult to put into words, so I just stayed quiet. The bicycle gradually slows down, until it finally stops completely.
“Hey, over there.”
“Yes, Cassandra.”
“Everyone is here.”
“Ah.”
I lowered the hand I was massaging. My back definitely hurt and it felt like the pain had spread to my legs, but it didn’t seem to matter anymore.
“Are you okay, Johan? “Can you move?”
“I’m fine, baby!”
I was glad I was wearing a helmet. Because I was able to hold back the screams. Before I could speak, Cassandra unbuckled her belt and undid it. When she tried to protest, he stomped on her foot.
Then he grabbed her pants and pulled them with the force of tearing them off. I had bruises here and there on my legs, but that wasn’t the problem.

“… Huh. It’s very fine. “There will be no problem.”
I couldn’t do anything because her body was being crushed. It eagerly asserted its presence even as Cassandra opened her bike bag and applied her ointment to her wounds and bandaged her.
Cassandra was not shaken at all. She’s squeezed in a few times, so it looks like she wasn’t completely awkward. So, this is from the perspective of a doctor and researcher.
“Pull up your pants. And don’t do that again.”
Unfortunately, I got caught once along the way. Cassandra, who seemed calm at that time, turned her head for a moment. Fortunately, there were no guys chasing us. Even in the midst of all the chaos, she was quiet in this world.
“This is…” .”
“Yes. “It’s a town.”
I gave Cassandra her pistol back. She took her spare magazine out of her bag and put it back into her MP 45. She moved her legs around experimentally. Her pain went away quickly.
She slowly pushed her bike for a spin.
“It’s strange.”
“Isn’t it too quiet?”
Just as I was starting to become anxious as to whether the beast was making a home here too, I saw a corpse lying on the road. I was looking up at the sky blankly.
Bodies were seen strewn about in every alley. Even though flies were buzzing and crawling over the whites of the eyes, they did not move at all.
It was a bit difficult to get used to, but it was a sight I had already seen many times. There was nothing unusual. I passed by the body.
An uneasy feeling ran down my spine.
I examined the body again.
It was the same as before, but there was one difference.
There are no flies stepping on the snow.
And I see a pupil that wasn’t there before.
I fired the MP45 almost at the same time as the guy jumped up.
The zombie with its head blown off fell backwards.
“Gyaaagh!”
The guys who had been lying down until just now jumped up all at once. It crawled low, almost on all fours, as if it were an animal. He shot quickly. Zombies climbed the walls of residential areas. I shot at the ones that stuck out their heads, but one of them growled and flew up.
“John!”
Cassandra fired her pistol. It hit her on the shoulder. It bit Cassandra’s arm hard, dripping her blood. Cassandra punched her zombie in the forehead. The guy with her bangs crushed flew back.
That guy was the last.
“Cassandra. The clothes….”
There was a hole where it was bitten.
A sharp hole about the size of a canine tooth.
