How to Live as a Knight After the Ending - Chapter 13

Episode 13. Black Snake (2)
When Ossian did not answer, the masked man shook his head.
“Right. It doesn’t matter who it is. We have to eliminate the witness anyway. Get rid of him.”
The large body moved at those words.
Crunch.
It seemed as if a sound of something being pulled was heard, and then a large, bulky thing shot out like a cannonball and rushed towards Ossian.
The big man grabbed Ossian by both shoulders and threw him against a wall.
Ossian, who was flying, spun around in the air and landed on the ground before crashing into the wall. Immediately afterwards, a large creature lunged at Ossian and slammed him with its shoulder.
Ossian crossed his arms and went into defense. A body slam from the big guy landed on him.
Boom! Boom!
Overwhelming mass and immense strength.
The bulk of the creature pushed Ossian like a bulldozer, destroying two walls.
Brick fragments flew and dust rose.
A power that would have made an ordinary person faint long ago.
But at some point, the giant realized that his body was not moving forward.
Gigging.
Instead, I felt a huge pressure on my shoulders that had been pushing Ossian away.
“I asked who you were, and you suddenly attacked me. How rude.”
Ossian said as he entered into a contest of size and strength.
He suddenly runs up to you and throws you, or hits you with his shoulder.
I was surprised to see his quick appearance that didn’t match his dull appearance, but I was slow to react.
Even taking that into account, there was not a single wound on Ossian’s body.
Even though he broke two solid walls with his bare body, Ossian didn’t feel a single sore spot.
‘It’s my torso, but it’s so damn strong.’
While thinking like that, Ossian quietly analyzed the enemy before him.
The large creature showed no emotional agitation at the sight of Ossian, who withstood its own strength and even pushed it away.
At least he wasn’t the amateur we were dealing with downstairs just a moment ago.
Bam!
The bulky body put strength into both legs. The floorboards cracked and split. But Ossian still did not move.
Instead, the mass was slowly pushed back.
Perhaps because he thought that this wouldn’t work, the large man leaned back slightly.
Ossian, who had been resisting the force of the blow, lost his balance for a split second.
This is because, compared to his strong body, his skill level was still immature.
The large creature quickly squeezed through the gap.
A fist the size of a grown man’s head was fired like a cannon toward Ossian’s face.
It is obvious that a straight punch that makes your head burst like a watermelon the moment you hit it.
However, Ossian regained his balance with incredible speed and dodged the punch by simply tilting his head slightly to the side.
Ossian turned his body backwards. He caught the big man’s outstretched fist with both hands over his shoulder, then slammed it into the ground.
Boom!
Although he was a large man who could bear all of his own weight on his back, no groans were heard from behind the mask.
Ossian’s eyes lit up with interest.
This guy’s body was a lot more sturdy than I thought.
“Let’s see how much longer you can hold out.”
Ossian swung his fist at the fallen giant’s face.
First of all, I wanted to take off that clever mask.
Ossian’s outstretched fist was caught by a hand the size of a pot lid.
“hmm?”
When Ossian looked at him with a look of surprise, a change occurred in the large body.
Chewy!
Pure white steam flowed out through the gaps in the coat.
There is no way such a reaction could occur in a normal human body.
Ossian’s eyes widened slightly at the pressure that threatened to crush his fist.
The guy’s strength just went up a lot more than before.
Plus, it’s a irritating sound.
The sound of the spring turning, the sound of the pump beating, the sound of the cylinder moving back and forth.
All the noises were coming from inside the body of the large creature.
“You are not human.”
As soon as Ossian finished speaking, the upper half of the large man’s body seemed to bounce off.
The big man twisted his body without letting go of Ossian’s fist and faced him head on again.
Inside the slightly torn forearm of the coat, an arm was visible, not human, but made of steel.
The large creature’s red eyes glowed from behind the mask.
As if from now on it’s real.
*
The masked man, of slim build, sat quietly in Jacob’s office chair and waited.
I came to see how Jacob had expanded his business, but the timing wasn’t good.
Jacob was killed by some troublemaker.
‘It’s a shame, but it was one of the cards I was going to throw away anyway. On the contrary, that troubleshooter guy has no luck. Who would have thought he’d meet us on a day like today?’
If he could single-handedly wipe out the Black Snake Gang, he would have been quite capable.
The big guy who was fighting Ossian right now was not someone that an individual could deal with.
Autonomous doll, automaton.
Among them, this one was a special product that was made for combat, very sturdy, and had exceptional output.
There’s no way a single troubleshooter could deal with an automaton that can take out multiple gangsters on its own.
As I was thinking that, a series of thumping sounds could be heard from beyond the broken wall.
‘Still, that problem solver, he seems to have some kind of faith in himself, so he’s holding on for quite some time.’
But that was only for a moment.
Soon the noise coming from beyond the wall died down.
‘It’s over.’
Now the automaton will appear before you, holding a mangled corpse.
The moment I thought that, something flew in from beyond the broken wall.
Kuung!
What he thought was a corpse was surprisingly the automaton he had brought with him.
The automaton, with one arm torn off, sprang to its feet but could not keep its balance properly.
The masked man’s gaze shifted from the automaton to beyond the broken wall.
There, Ossian slowly emerged, holding the automaton’s forearm.
Ossian rested his forearm on his shoulder and stared at the masked man with a cold gaze.
He felt goosebumps rise on his skin under his coat.
‘You can tear off the arm of a battle automaton so easily?’
Moreover, looking at the state of the automaton, it was clear that it had produced at least three levels of output.
Yet, Ossian showed no signs of injury.
“Is this all?”
Ossian aimed his forearm at the masked man.
The masked man slowly got up from his seat at that action.
At first, I thought he was just some random problem solver, but now that I’ve met him again, I realize he’s definitely not an ordinary person.
“If you have any hidden cards, you can show them to me.”
And there is even a sense of leisure in those words and actions.
I broke out in a cold sweat at the sight of that attitude, which only the strong can have.
Actually, Ossian asked out of pure curiosity.
‘As the world develops, robots also appear.’
To Ossian, the automaton looked like a robot.
I knew it was a very developed world compared to the game world, but I never thought it would have bipedal robots.
Moreover, when the automaton first moved, I didn’t feel any strangeness.
It was said that it was made so well that it was difficult to tell the difference.
‘I don’t know what they do, but since they came to a place like this and attacked me, I’m sure they have some connection to the Blacksnake gang.’
If we had at least caught those guys and interrogated them, we might have some more information.
At that moment, the masked man opened his mouth.
“Step back.”
As he spoke, the automaton slowly backed away and stood next to the masked man.
At that sight, Ossian glared at Masked Man with a look of bewilderment.
“If you tell me now that you’re leaving, do you think I’ll let you go?”
The masked man didn’t answer. Instead, he snapped his fingers.
At that moment, the arm of the automaton that Ossian was holding exploded with a loud noise.
A puff of pure white steam rose and filled the office.
The masked man left the explosion behind and climbed onto the automaton’s remaining intact arm.
The automaton broke the glass window and jumped onto the roof of the building.
In an instant, a human and a machine disappeared into the vapors of the city.
The steam that filled the room slowly subsided.
Ossian clicked his tongue as he looked at the broken window and the two missing beings.
Who would have thought that the arm itself had the ability to explode?
‘Did you let your guard down because you didn’t smell gunpowder?’
It was a compressed steam capsule built into the forearm that burst.
The expanding steam itself acted as a kind of bomb.
The power was also considerable.
The fragments of the shattered steel forearm became bullets in themselves, and the pressure of the explosion swept away the surrounding area.
The way it tore apart everything within a certain range was reminiscent of Claymore.
But there was not a single wound on Ossian’s body.
Ossian was suddenly holding a sword in his hand.
Ossian used his sword to ward off the bullets that formed from the shrapnel that exploded from his forearm.
As if to prove it, the wall behind Ossian was clean, without any debris.
The sight of the surrounding area being torn to pieces seemed so foreign.
Ossian tried to collect something that could serve as evidence, but gave up when he saw that the safe was wide open and empty.
I don’t know what the masked man is doing, but he has already stolen all the evidence related to them.
‘My request was to subdue the Black Snake Gang anyway, so there’s no need to bother with this.’
It wasn’t a very refreshing feeling to learn that there was something behind this incident.
Since the city is so large, it wouldn’t be strange for all sorts of organizations to run wild.
Ossian put his sword into his waistband and walked out of the gang hideout.
Chiik! Creak. Creak.
In every alleyway, white steam rose along with the sound of turning machines.
In Ossian’s vision, the alleys of the city he had seen in the past games and the scenery he was seeing now were contrasted.
It was a strange sight no matter how many times I saw it.
Ossian, who was about to turn back after finishing the request, stopped walking.
“… … .”
Ossian turned his head and stared beyond the steamy rooftop of the building.
*
‘what?’
The observer, who had been putting his eye on the scope, doubted his own eyes when Ossian turned to look at him.
‘You saw this? Did you get caught? No, that can’t be true.’
The distance from Ossian is more than 200m in simple terms.
Even this side was hiding its body, and the surrounding area was covered in pure white steam flowing out of brass pipes, making it difficult to distinguish objects.
It would have been nearly impossible for a naked eye to have caught sight of himself on the roof of a building.
‘It might just be a coincidence.’
The onlooker, who was about to run away for a moment, tried to suppress his anxiety and tried to check Ossian’s appearance through the scope again.
But I couldn’t help but feel embarrassed right away.
‘What the heck? Where did this guy go?’
Ossian, who had been standing in the alley just a moment ago, was no longer visible.
The viewer felt uneasy about something.
The moment I was thinking about quickly leaving the place, I felt a cool sensation on the back of my neck.
“Don’t move.”
“… … .”
The onlookers were puzzled.
The feel of this cold metal was definitely the sword that Ossian carried around on his waist.
‘When on earth did it happen?’
It wasn’t that long ago that I missed Ossian.
However, in that short time, Ossian covered a distance of over 200 meters and took over the rear.
Even though this place was the roof of a building.
“You were watching me just now. What was your purpose?”
“… … .”
From the way he spoke, it seemed as if he knew that I was watching him.
It wasn’t an illusion that I looked back at myself from beyond the scope for a moment.
Cold sweat flowed down from inside the gas mask worn by the observer.
“You’re not going to answer? Okay.”
The moment Ossian was about to apply strength to his sword, the observer shouted.
“for a moment!”
