How To Tame an Academy Dragon - How To Tame an Academy Dragon chapter 45
45. Becoming a Temporary Quartermaster at the Academy
After working late into the night, we collapsed from exhaustion as soon as we entered the dorm.
Although the workers who brought the wagons helped, it was not strange that they put a strain on their bodies as the amount of work itself was formidable.
It’s okay because I’m strong enough that no message will come no matter how many times I move, but if I show that I’m not tired, I might take on more work for no reason, so I pretended to be tired in an appropriate way.
One of the welfare benefits was so amazing that one person was provided with a single room, and the extra bed was quite strong and soft, so I was able to sleep comfortably.
The day before the mist cleared the next morning, the Quartermasters’ day began again.
I woke up right away, probably because I slept outside, not at home. The clock was pointing to a little past six in the morning.
It was quite chilly at dawn, probably because it was in the forest, so after washing my face, I put on my clothes in time for the meal to come out at 7:00, and went out and headed to the restaurant.
In the dining room, Bamir, who woke up earlier than me, was chewing on his rice, and I sat in front of him and pushed the food into his stomach.
The food is delicious, but after all that hard work yesterday, when I woke up, strangely, I didn’t have much of an appetite.
“Oh, Saksin-ah…”
The next thing that appeared was Chad, who was grumbling with his back on his back, and the supply officers following him one after another.
The supply officers who came to eat, wandering around like zombies, began to fill their hungry stomachs with food.
“Let’s eat and gather in front of the warehouse at 9 o’clock.”
Vamir gave the supply officers a break by shoving the last remaining sausage into his mouth.
Academy moves quickly because logistics arrive early, but other logistics from the capital to here will arrive by 10 o’clock no matter how fast they depart.
If it was the modern day I lived in, I would have arrived in the morning by running at dawn, but in this era, there is no means of transportation that fast, and moving at night is dangerous, so people carrying luggage must have camped out.
If the bike that the Doha Prius used to ride becomes practical and spreads, wouldn’t it be a revolution comparable to the development of automobiles?
Should I buy the full amount in advance?
Wouldn’t it be developed before I die? There is no reason why you can’t make it a car in the yard where levitating bikes are roaming around.
It’s not bad to become a pod in another world. If I had been a little smarter, I would have been rich with all the modern knowledge.
“I should have studied. Eh.”
My true heart came out without my knowledge while I was eating.
The Quartermasters who listened to my words stopped eating and looked at me. I half agreed with what I said, but on the other hand, I felt very sorry for the expression that seemed to have hurt my pride.
I didn’t mean to do that, but the atmosphere hardened as if we were pessimistic about our job.
It was Chad, who was eating spaghetti with a noise, who stepped forward to relieve the strained atmosphere first.
“Did you study? I’m also a genius from Villa Aus 5.”
Someone burst into laughter at his shameless words with spaghetti sauce smeared all over his mouth.
“What? Don’t you believe me? I can’t. I’ll have to tell you the difference in eye level. Ask anything!”
Everyone rolled their eyes at Chad’s boast and began to think about how to ask difficult questions.
It was Reika who was sitting in front of Chad who asked the question first.
“What kind of car do I drive every morning?”
I wondered if this was a question that was somewhat out of touch with knowledge, but no one pointed it out.
What we wanted to see was not Chad coming up with clear-cut answers, but his goal being to give a side as much as he was smug.
Unsurprisingly, Chad, caught off guard by Reika, looked puzzled for a moment, then regained her composure and picked up the fork.
Then she rolled up the spaghetti, put it in her mouth, chewed it down, and swallowed it. Then, with a graceful gesture, she wiped the sauce from her mouth.
The Quartermasters concentrated on what answer Chad would come up with, and soon Chad gave an answer with a grin.
“Alpano?”
***
The meal ended just like that due to Chad’s boring gag.
Thanks to Naya, I thought it was fortunate that the atmosphere that was about to explode was resolved, and I said that I would visit Chad later and buy him a drink.
Even though Chad sent me back telling me to get out of there, saying he doesn’t drink with men.
It was already 9 o’clock while everyone was resting, and the Quartermasters, who had gathered at the place Bamir had mentioned, received a briefing from Bamir as usual and dispersed to their respective seats.
“Ah. Raj you wait.”
I was going to do my own thing, but Bamir stopped me. Next to him was Chad, who stood there yawning.
“We’ll wait for the fireworks and then go check it out.”
I was worried that it might be because of the absurd remarks I made during dinner, but that wasn’t the case.
Bamir was holding a thick sheet of paper in his hand, and he split it up and gave it to me and Chad.
“A total of 20 boxes of firecrackers are coming in. The firecracker storage warehouse is a warehouse next to the lake further back. Check the location when you’re there. Guards will be on duty and patrolling around the warehouse.”
As expected, it was an explosive product, so the management was strict. I choked at the dense procedures and laws that appeared in the documents Bamir handed out.
“There are 3 keys to the warehouse, and you have one of them. You need to have all 3 keys to open it, so keep that in mind. Opening is done at a fixed time every day with the captain of the guard. I will check the quantity in the morning and evening.
“Yes.”
“Yes.”
Bamir took me and Chad to the depths of the forest.
I struggled through the bushes to a fairly deep place, and after a while, an open space appeared before Chad complained.
The straight and straight space was a road, and I could see a checkpoint and barrier gates in front of the well-paved road.
As we burst out of the forest, the imperial soldiers standing at the checkpoint pointed their spears at us.
Bamir raised his hands first to show surrender, and me and Chad followed suit by raising both hands up quickly.
“Paper.”
One of the Imperials shouted a word that didn’t fit the situation at all.
“Clouds.”
In response, Bamir shouted an irrelevant word, and the imperial soldiers lowered their spears and began to approach.
“Firework management officers. I am Bamir, the supply leader of Belfia Academy.”
Bamir noticed us by showing the nameplate with his affiliation. Me and Chad also took out nameplates and handed them over to the Imperials.
After confirming our affiliation, the Imperial Army removed the barricade and let us pass.
After passing the checkpoint, the first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful scenery and the lake, where the reflection of the sunlight and the reflections of the lake’s waves shimmered like pieces of glass.
Beyond that, there is a tall wooden wall and two buildings lying in a lump.
In front of both buildings, soldiers in imperial uniforms stood guard, and as soon as they saw us, they took a guard like soldiers at a checkpoint.
“That…Is it okay for me to stay here?”
Seeing that security was maintained so thoroughly, I was worried about whether I could join.
From the perspective of the academy, he is a rookie with no background and no background. Heyman, anyway, even if it’s an old acquaintance, isn’t it true that there are other senior Quartermasters here than me?
As I was staring at myself, Bamir opened his mouth in a passing tone.
“I didn’t pick you, so I don’t know dude.”
“Yes?”
I asked what Bamir meant, but Bamir didn’t answer. Instead, Chad answered in a playful tone from the side.
“It means your stomach is tired.”
Isn’t Bamir the one who selected me? Do you have a belly?
“The day you entered the supply center, the captain instructed you. You must be selected to manage the fireworks.”
“Me? Who the hell would…”
“Don’t ask, Tsar. I want to know too.”
Chad tapped me on the shoulder for fun. Just as Chad didn’t know, Vamir just shrugged his shoulders.
So if I had to condense it into one word, it would be a parachute? Who cares about me and flowers with a parachute? Did you want to eat a bone marrow?
If Hyman ordered it, I wondered if Bamir would know. If it wasn’t for instructions from within the academy, higher than Hyman…The Emperor…?
Couldn’t the emperor of the empire do something like that? I wouldn’t be comfortable giving private instructions to a temporary contract employee.
“That’s why the captain kind of hated you.”
“Only for the first time b*tch, only for the first time!”
Bamir was taken aback by Chad’s accusation. Then, feeling ashamed, he fidgeted with his beard and fixed his eyes on the front.
“Because I thought you were a young bastard with no skills. If not, that’s fine.”
“How is it. Our captain. Kwok!”
Bamir, who shows the temperament of a typical tsundere, and Chad, who is constantly fussing. In the end, it was Chad who calmed down only after Bamir slapped Chad on the back of the head.
“Ha ha ha…”
“In the meantime, I can’t help but wonder since I’ve been spilling rumors of infidelity with the princess of the dragon tribe. Are you a prince of a kingdom by any chance?”
“Why don’t you send the prince to the place of supply, you fool?”
Bamir scolds Chad’s question. Chad retorted that it could be so, making a lot of noise, and all the way to the firecracker warehouse, Bamir covered his ears.
A prince of a certain country. It might be similar. If I had lived an ordinary life like everyone else, I would have become a demon king by now.
If I became the Demon King, would these people be able to maintain such a peaceful daily life?
If not, would the flames of the phone still set the continent on fire?
I can never know because it never happened, but I just thought it would be better not to have such a future.
