Hot restaurant

“Jake. Is the camera okay?”

“No problem. It’s not like it’s the first or second time.”

Ashley and Jake are fine dining enthusiasts.

They do not believe in the number of stars in the Michelin Guide or the ranking of restaurants. They believe that they are ranked based on a thoroughly capitalist logic and they are the type of people who lack credibility.

Their principle is to never accept money or a meal from a restaurant, and only write a review after going there and eating there.

There is no need for a price. The blog grows bigger and bigger as they post, and the praise they receive from their followers is enough motivation for them to continue this work at their own expense.

“The rumors must be true.”

Ashley says, stroking her chin.

They questioned the incredible reputation of Segreto that had started to spread on Facebook and Instagram. At the same time, they were curious about what was so special about this restaurant. That’s why they flew all the way to New York.

“The photo is not exaggerated. It is an old-fashioned building. It looks like a medieval building from Italy.”

Ashley stands in front of the restaurant, looking at the building for a moment, then picks up her camera and takes a picture of it.

As they approached the restaurant, they saw a heavy black wooden door that gave off an intimidating feeling. They carefully opened it and went inside, where a dazzling beauty greeted them.

“Welcome to Segreto. Let me confirm your reservation.”

The two men, who had no immunity to women, were momentarily flustered when a beautiful woman suddenly spoke to them, but they soon came to their senses and were safely guided to their seats.

“Do they hire employees based on their looks here?”

Jake muttered as he watched Jenny’s back as she walked away.

“Because it’s a service industry, of course appearance is important.”

Ashley nods in agreement and says,

The two ordered the chef’s recommended course at Segreto, which was much talked about.

[Visit to Segreto

We had heard a lot of buzz about this restaurant recently and had been debating for quite some time whether we should visit it or not.

As you all know, we live in LA. We have to cross the country to get to New York. But we were happy to go there to satisfy the curiosity of our blog readers and Redditors. We got so many requests to review this place.

I’ll start this review by once again thanking the users who sent me the price of their plane tickets.

First of all, as you can see from the photo, the restaurant has a great exterior.

If you are planning a great date or a memorable anniversary with your lover, this is definitely the place to go.

The moment you set eyes on this beautifully decorated restaurant with stone and wood, I have no doubt that your partner will look at you with loving eyes. It is classic, minimalistic, yet elegant.

As I opened the door and went in, a pretty server confirmed my reservation and guided me to my seat.

I found out later that she was the sommelier and maid of Segreto. I asked her later because her cooking explanations were so good, and she said she majored in cooking at the CIA. She later got her sommelier qualification, so she must know a lot about cooking. I reflected on my prejudice that I suspected that they hired employees based on appearance alone.

I ordered the chef’s recommended course.

The price is $130, which is about the same as or slightly more expensive than other Michelin 1-star restaurants. The wine pairing costs an additional $50, but I didn’t feel like it was a waste of money at all. The wines served by the glass were top-notch.

The moment the Louis Roederer Brut Premier champagne came out, my first thought was, ‘Oh! This restaurant doesn’t really have any intention of making money.’ That says it all.

The bottles were reasonably priced, too. And they had a ridiculously thick wine list. According to the sommelier, it was probably in the top ten in the East, but that didn’t seem like overconfidence.

After the aperitif, bread and butter, various cheeses, prosciutto, and Italian ham like mortadella (a ham made by pounding pork in a mortar and then smoking it) were brought out. They took our order around the time we were done eating all of that.

And then the real course began. We tasted all the menus and asked the servers for details when we were curious, and we did our research diligently. However, after returning home, editing the photos and writing the first draft of the blog post, I changed my mind.

Friends, we don’t intend to review the dinner course here in detail.

After the meal, we met the owner chef of Segreto (yes, the same one from Master Chef), and he said that he wanted to surprise and delight his guests with this dish. He was right. We were very surprised and really enjoyed it. We don’t want our detailed review to spoil your visit, right?

But I really want to tell you this: Segreto has earned a spot on our list of “must-visit restaurants in America.”

I know you’ll be disappointed if there are no food pictures, so here are some pictures of the artistic steak and dessert. But don’t judge the taste by these pictures. Seeing is not everything, my friends.

PS. There is no tip. It is not included in the price, there really is none. I heard it is the owner’s policy, but I was more worried that this restaurant might close down due to deficit than happy, so I couldn’t help but buy a bottle of wine when I left the restaurant.]

Jake and Ashley’s honest review quickly went viral online.

And Segreto’s reservation page had to post a notice saying “Reservations are fully booked” just 2 minutes after opening.

“I just bought a cup of coffee at Starbucks.”

Jimmy Fallon stands up and addresses the audience in a dramatic tone. As the show draws to a close, Jimmy instinctively knows that now is the time to address the issue.

“I ordered a tall mocha latte at the counter and sat down for a moment before the waiter called my name. “Jimmy, Jimmy, come get your coffee.”

The audience laughs as Jimmy hilariously imitates the voice of a Starbucks employee.

“I took my coffee and handed over four dollars. That was the exact price. Then the clerk stared at me. With this look on his face.”

Jimmy looks into the camera and imitates the facial expression of a Starbucks employee dealing with a rude customer. The studio is once again filled with laughter from the audience.

“When I asked what the problem was, he said they didn’t calculate the tip.”

Jimmy makes a gesture of surprise.

“Oh my goodness. All the staff did for me was call my name once. I went to order and got my coffee myself.”

“Jimmy, Jimmy, take my coffee.”

He imitates the clerk’s voice again.

“What I just did was a dollar-dollar job. I’m the host of the most-watched talk show in America, but I wonder if I can make a dollar by calling out someone’s name like this. Tom, Tom, get a coffee!”

Jimmy calls the PD’s name. Then the PD comes out and gets the coffee.

“Where is my dollar?”

Once again the audience laughs.

“Everyone. Do you use FedEx a lot? In order for you to receive your ordered items comfortably at home, this delivery company’s employees start transporting your items at 4 a.m. They pull the truck, check the items, load them, and then go around to each house to deliver them.”

Jimmy drinks a glass of water from the glass on the table.

“Black Friday is coming soon.

Kids will be clamoring for the new iPhone, and those who want a Nintendo or PlayStation will be singing all year long.

Dads need to buy a gardening machine and moms need to buy an oven for cooking. Where do you go then? That’s right. Best Buy (the largest electronics franchise in the US). I also go there often.

The clerks here have to fetch heavy items from the warehouse and carry them long distances to customers when customers ask for them. Sometimes they even bring ladders to lower items from the shelves. And you know what it’s like in these stores on Black Friday or during the Christmas season.”

Jimmy pauses for a moment.

“Customers line up in front of the store before it opens, like zombies from the movies, and then rush in all at once. When I asked the employees, they said they actually feel scared sometimes. They’re afraid of being crushed to death.

There are screams everywhere, children crying, men, women, old and young, running and fighting to get their hands on the goods. And the sales associates have to deal with them all. I could never do it. They are skilled workers and they do their best to provide the service we need for our shopping.”

Jimmy looks at the audience.

“What do they get in return? The FedEx delivery guys who deliver packages at dawn? The Best Buy clerks who have to work all day to find products for customers who are screaming?

Nothing. Because they are not service workers. It is company policy not to accept tips.

Isn’t it strange? Just by saying my name once, someone asks for a dollar, and oh! Of course, sometimes it becomes ten dollars. And there are those who work their butts off to meet the demands of customers and get nothing in return.”

The audience focuses on Jimmy.

“That’s the law? The basic hourly wage for service industry workers is low?”

Jimmy slams his palm on the desk.

“Please, come to your senses. Tipping is a custom that has continued to this day, from the European aristocracy to their servants. Who was the man who built the trans-American railroad? George Pohlman! That man. The unscrupulous businessman who put newly freed blacks on the trains and made them serve the passengers, without paying them a penny.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a racist. We’re just talking about why tipping has become such a stranglehold on our own country.”

The PD gives the okay sign.

“Now, let’s look back at ourselves. I am not a nobleman, and you, the service workers, are not servants. I have no obligation to tip, and you have no right to receive tips. Wages? Of course, the business owner should pay. Why should we demand that from the customers?”

Jimmy takes a moment to catch his breath and look around the audience.

“There is a restaurant.

It’s a fine dining place that serves the most amazing meals in New York. The owner is someone you all know. Yes! Chef Shin Je-hee.

He was not American, so he didn’t understand why customers should pay his employees’ salaries. So he made no tipping a restaurant policy. Of course, there was resistance from his employees. He offered them a fair wage for their work and also provided them with benefits.

Some of the staff have quit. But most of the staff have stayed and are providing the best service to the customers. And even these days, the restaurant’s reservation list opens and is booked within minutes. That’s how business is done.”

Jimmy looks at the camera with a determined face. And says.

“The next time I go to Starbucks and the waiter asks me for a tip like before, I’ll say this:

“Get your wages from your employer. Don’t ask me.”

The audience applauds and cheers for Jimmy. They too have had their fill of tips.

That night’s Tonight Show caused a huge controversy in America.
