81 – Reunion and… Where Am I?
Because I was the only one who could see her among the people in the restaurant, no one responded to her words.
Juliana flew to the side of the guys who were fighting and narrowed her eyes, glaring at them.
“Where do you want to try it?!”
“If you have any complaints, let’s fight!”
As two men approached closely with their foreheads almost touching, raising their voices, Juliana lightly pushed one of them from behind.
The two men, who had their faces close together, stopped…
“Ugh…”
I quickly covered Iris and Jess’s eyes, enduring the disgust that surged from the back of my throat.
“hahahahaha! hahahahaha!”
“Swoosh! It suits you well!”
Those who were watching the two with great interest burst into laughter and started clapping.
“Oof, ugh…!!”
“You, you bastard!”
The two men, whose eyes went blank after the terrible accident, vomited and drew their swords.
[If you’re going to fight, go outside and fight!]
When they showed signs of fighting further, Juliana grabbed the backs of their collars and threw them outside.
“What?!”
“Wha-what is it?!”
The scream echoed, and laughter poured into the restaurant.
“hahahahaha! You fools! Pulling out a knife at Nest Restaurant!”
“Tsk tsk, they don’t know how scary a magician can be.”
The newcomers to the restaurant asked the laughing ones what was going on. I also listened carefully.
“Even though the Nest organization hasn’t been around for long, it’s quite famous, you know? It’s all because of the Grand Magician. Those guys who just caused a ruckus were thrown out by the security spell set up by the Grand Magician.”
I silently looked towards Juliana. She brushed off her hands and furrowed her brow, looking at the dirty floor.
[Next time, we should chase them away immediately. Tsk.]
She clicked her tongue and then transformed into a book, flying towards the kitchen. One of the serving staff quickly ran over and cleaned the dirty floor.
She seemed used to these kinds of situations.
“Are you ready to order?”
I thought about getting up late to follow Juliana, but I had to sit back down when the waiter approached.
“Yes, um… Please give me three of the best-selling menu items here.”
“Yes. No alcohol?”
“No.”
In the Demon King’s Land, where all kinds of races lived and where you never knew when you would die, there was no concept of being underage. There was only a difference between immature offspring and adults.
So, I often received questions about whether I wanted to drink regardless of my age.

I whispered to Jess and Iris that they shouldn’t drink until they turned twenty. I told them that if they drank before that, their stomachs would churn and they could get sick.
Honestly, I thought they wouldn’t believe me, but both of them nodded seriously.
“I won’t eat it even when I grow up.”
“Me neither!”
I gently stroked their cheeks with the back of my hand, and Jess asked me to stroke his chin. The sound of his chin rubbing against mine was delightful.
“Our best-selling braised meat dish in the store! Enjoy it.”
“Mmm…”
Jess drooled and his eyes sparkled. Iris also blushed lightly at the delicious smell.
“This… is it like soy sauce braised chicken?”
It was one of the dishes I used to make for the kids in the Sorcerer’s laboratory.
“It’s here too, huh.”
I thought it was fascinating as I started eating. Jess ate a whopping 10 servings. Iris and I ordered one more serving each. It was truly delicious.
“Now that the meal is over…”
After paying the bill, we walked inside the store. There were so many people that no one paid attention to us.
“Juliana must have come here for sure.”
I carefully opened the door with a sign that read “Employees Only.” As soon as I opened the door, I saw a staircase leading downwards.
“The restaurant seems really busy, so let’s go down and ask someone we run into.”
After coming to that conclusion, Jess, Iris, and I went down the stairs. As we went down, we came across a place that seemed like a warehouse. Unused chairs, tables, and stored ingredients were scattered around in shady spots.
“Where could she have gone?”
As I was thinking that, something sparkling caught my eye in a corner.
“Hmm?”
I approached it and picked up the sparkling object.
“Is it a gem?”
It was hard to see in the dark surroundings, but it was a sparkling object like a broken jewel. Just as I was about to examine it more closely…
Clank.
The oak barrel stacked against the wall shifted to the side. From inside, a familiar face popped out. It was Koa, one of the kids I had worked with at the MIA Laboratory.
With a bucket on his head and big round eyes, the cute child must have thought there was no one else around. When he spotted me, he froze and shouted.
“Gasp, wh…who is it?”
“Koa!”
“Huh…?”
I quickly stuffed the object I was holding into my pocket and called out the kid’s name in a bright voice. Koa’s eyes widened and he murmured.
“Lian… hyung?”

Koa confirmed my face and smiled brightly, then guided me towards the Nest headquarters.
Unlike Debatan, the Nest headquarters were not underground. The underground passage was only a pathway leading to the headquarters.
The underground passage connected various places, serving as a transportation route to different locations.
We were able to reach the headquarters by navigating through the maze-like underground passage. The Nest headquarters were located in a secluded area on the western outskirts, in a mansion.
The walls were incredibly high, making it difficult to see inside from the outside. Koa explained that since this was a place where thieves were abundant and people disliked interference from others, the high walls were not considered suspicious.
As soon as we entered the headquarters, I came face to face with a familiar face once again.
“Uh?”
“Nero?”
“Hyung, h-hyung?!”
Nero, with a short sword at his waist, spotted me and ran towards me with a wide smile, embracing me tightly.
“Is it really you?!”
“Of course it’s me.”
“Wow, wow…wait, is Jess here too?”
Nero widened his eyes and looked at Jess. He then let out a sigh of relief and said,
“Jess suddenly disappeared from the Forest of Death, and I was really worried. I thought he might have died! But he’s alive!”
Nero, with a face full of gratitude, now embraced Jess. Jess, wagging his tail, returned the hug. Laughing at the cute sight of the two, Nero asked about Noah’s whereabouts.
“Oh, right! Let’s go see the boss, I’ve been dying to see him!”
Nero jumped up and down in place, smiling brightly.
“What, what is it?”
“Do you know him?”
The unfamiliar faces were taken aback by Nero’s behavior.
In the Cardician organization, being young was not a flaw as long as one had power. Looking past his youth, Nero was the boss’s younger brother and a high-ranking member of Nest with great strength.
To the members, he was a difficult existence. Nero, too, deliberately used a blunt expression to avoid being ignored by others. Therefore, Nero’s overflowing smile was unfamiliar to others.
“Let’s go, bro!”
Nero took me to the top floor of the building. Approaching a door that looked more splendid than the others, Nero opened it with an excited face.
“Bro!”
“Nero, I told you it’s an important meeting, so come quick-…”
Noah’s voice gradually faded away and eventually disappeared completely. Noah made a blank expression and then pinched my cheek.
“Bro! Lian bro came to visit!”
“Uh, uh….”
Noah stared at me blankly and suddenly…burst into tears!
“Sob…”
“Huh? Uh?”
I was taken aback for two reasons.
The first reason was Noah’s unexpected tears, and the second reason was…the sirens in my head went off, “You have to comfort Noah,” occupying my thoughts.
“What, what is this intense feeling that seems to have made the pretty girl cry?”
I couldn’t understand, but my body instinctively approached Noah and started comforting him.
“Sob, sob…”
Noah couldn’t even speak properly and hugged me tightly. It seemed like he had grown a lot while I was gone. He looked taller than me…about 10cm taller.
I awkwardly patted his back, waiting for the sirens that were blaring in my head to stop.
After holding onto me for a while…Iris forcefully pulled Noah away from me, and only then did he let go.
Once the atmosphere settled a bit, I greeted the other children as well. Some of them cried, some laughed, and they all cheered that I had returned.
My heart tingled at the fact that the children hadn’t forgotten about me.
However, there was one person who reacted a bit differently.
“Huh?!”
Fia, who was walking down the hallway with an expression that couldn’t be deciphered, discovered me and sat on the floor without hesitation. She had a blank face, tears streaming down, and a smile that seemed possessed.
“Uh, um…Fia, are you okay?”
Seeing her clearly abnormal state, I cautiously asked, and she nodded vigorously…and wet herself.
I really…don’t know the reason, but…
I cautiously predict, “Could it be that I’m blocking the way because I need to use the restroom?”
If we meet again, I plan to apologize.
Afterward, I gathered with the children and happily shared what had happened until now, unaware of the passing time. When I introduced Iris as my little sister, the children who had been wary of strangers approached Iris with bright smiles.
We laughed joyfully in the tranquil moment, as if drawn in a picture.
As the day grew darker, we said our goodbyes and decided to continue the rest of the story tomorrow. I fell asleep in the room assigned by Noah.
“Hmm…?”
The next day, I greeted the morning with an unfamiliar ceiling.
