Hearing that someone I knew had an accident sent shivers down my spine.

Seeing Yerin’s face turn pale, Lee Hyun reached out his hand.

“Are you okay?”

“Ha. Yes.”

Yerin took a deep breath and looked at the entrance of her house, the villa, with fearful eyes.

Lee Hyun spoke in a very firm voice.

“Han Yerin, listen carefully. I can’t leave you here today.”

Yerin nodded with a face full of fear.

Even if Lee Hyun hadn’t said that, it seemed like Yerin wouldn’t be able to sleep here today either.

“Don’t even think about coming here for the time being.”

And Lee Hyun quickly started the car.

“I’ll have someone come and get your urgent luggage tomorrow, so let’s go to my house first today.”

When she came to, Lee Hyun was handing Yerin the warm tea he had made himself.

Yerin reached out to grab the teacup with her trembling hands.

“Thank you.”

Yerin’s hands suddenly gave out and she dropped the teacup.

“Ms. Han Yerin!”

Lee Hyun approached her urgently, but the tea had already spilled.

Fortunately, the tea had cooled down a bit before being served, so it wasn’t too hot, but some of it had already dripped onto Yerin’s legs.

“Are you okay?”

Without hesitation, Lee Hyun immediately lifted Yerin into his arms and hugged her.

Lee Hyun quickly walked to the bathroom, positioned Yerin in the bathtub, and turned on the cold water. He

placed the shower hose over Yerin’s legs, who were wearing stockings, and let the water run.

Most of the tea spilled onto the floor, so it was a relief.

“It doesn’t seem to spill much on your legs. But just in case, I’ll do first aid and call Dr. Kim. First, hold this.”

Yerin absentmindedly took the shower head that Lee Hyun offered her.

Lee Hyun stared at the stockings that were stuck to Yerin’s legs and let out a short breath.

“I think I should take these off.”

“Stockings?”

“Yes. Can you?”

Yerin was about to nod at the sight of the stockings that were already soaked in water when

Lee Hyun said one more thing with a very serious face.

“I’ll buy you a new one, so wouldn’t it be faster if I just tear it off now?”

“No! No.”

Yerin quickly continued talking as she held the shower head out to Lee Hyun.

“I can do it.”

“Okay, then.”

“Can you just hold the shower?”

“Okay.”

The moment Yerin handed the shower hose to Lee Hyun,

Lee Hyun couldn’t hold it properly because it was slippery from the water and dropped the shower head.

Because of that, the water from the shower sprayed into the air.

“Huh?”

Surprised, Yerin frantically pressed the button that connected to the sunflower faucet.

Suddenly, water started to pour down on the two of their heads.

“Oh, what do I do?”

Surprised, Yerin froze in place, and Lee Hyun quickly got up and turned off the water.

It was a situation full of embarrassment.

Yerin and Lee Hyun burst into laughter a beat later, looking at each other’s soaked appearances.

“Hahaha.”

“I’m sorry. I didn’t do it on purpose.”

“Thanks to you, it’s refreshing and nice.”

Lee Hyun put the shower head down on the floor and wiped the water off his face with one hand.

He was a man who looked so cool even in that simple gesture.

“I’ll go out and find some clothes for you, Han Yerin, so I think it would be better if you took off your stockings first.”

“Yes, I understand.”

“If you’re having a hard time alone, feel free to ask for help.”

It was a joke that Lee Hyun had thrown out as a joke for Yerin, who had been surprised and nervous since earlier.

After hearing that, Yerin narrowed her eyes and glared at Lee Hyun.

“I don’t think that’ll happen, so could you please leave the seat right away?”

“Of course.”

After Lee Hyun left, the bathroom door clicked shut.

Yerin looked down at the stockings that were already soaking wet and stuck to her legs and let out a short breath.

“Like Lee Hyun said, would it really have been better to just rip them off…?”

Taking off the stockings was twice as hard as usual.

“Can I come in now?”

“Yes.”

Lee Hyun came inside and turned on the shower hose again, turning on the cold water.

“Lee Hyun, my legs barely got splashed. I don’t think we need to call Dr. Kim either.”

“Do you have any burn ointment at home?”

“I’m sure you’ll find some if you look.”

There were more instances of water running down the shower hose because it was turned on incorrectly than of spilling tea and getting her clothes wet.

After changing into the T-shirt that Lee Hyun had lent her, Yerin sat on the living room sofa in an awkward position.

Fortunately, the skirt she was wearing didn’t get wet at all, so she thought she could keep it on for now. She

had been so out of it after hearing about the murder case in the villa she was living in that she followed Lee Hyun, but she was starting to worry later on whether that was the right choice.

“Why do you look like that again?”

“I don’t think Lee Hyun will be able to rest comfortably if I’m there. You could just go to a nearby hotel right now… … .”

“Han Yerin.”

“Huh?”

“Your face is still pale from shock. Wouldn’t it be scarier to be alone tonight?”

That was also true.

Na-ri was out of Korea on a business trip, and she didn’t have anyone else she was close with.

So there was no one she could call out to at this late hour. Just

like Lee Hyun had said, she thought it would be even scarier to be alone in an unfamiliar place.

“Didn’t we sign a contract? We agreed not to do anything until we both agreed to it?”

“Yes.”

“So you can trust me.”

When Yerin slowly nodded, Lee Hyun said as he headed toward the wine cellar.

“I’m sure it’d be hard to find a man as patient as I am.”

“Huh?”

Without giving a detailed explanation, Lee Hyun brought out two glasses of wine and wine.

“There’s nothing better than wine to relieve tension. Would you like a drink?”

Yerin nodded after thinking for a moment.

After taking one sip, two sips, her body quickly became drowsy and the terrifying fear that had been clouding her mind gradually disappeared.

If Lee Hyun hadn’t driven her there himself, she would have been very surprised to see that sight alone. Even

if she had somehow managed to get out of the house and go to the hotel alone, she would have stayed up all night trembling with fear.

He then made her place her hand on his chest.

Yerin felt Lee Hyun’s heartbeat, which was beating much faster than hers, with her palm and opened her eyes clearly.

“I’ve been like this since a while ago.”

“It’s because of Han Yerin.”

He was saying that the reason his heart was beating so fast was because of Yerin.

“Your heart is beating so fast, but I really don’t have any share?”

could there not be?

Lee Hyun was seducing her with his hot gaze. Maybe it was because

the intoxication from the small amount of wine she had drunk was gradually taking effect, but she had less time to think than usual.

Maybe it was because she wanted to talk, but she missed the timing to say it, so she kept it inside.

Until Ye-rin’s lips opened, the air surrounding the two of them seemed to have stopped flowing.
