#62. Close Distance
2024.01.02.
Yerin’s cheeks quickly turned red.
She, too, wanted to stay by Lee Hyun’s side for a long time.
However, it was too much of a wish and too greedy to say out loud.
Yerin smiled faintly and slowly answered.
“I’ll do my best while I’m by your side.”
That was the best answer Yerin could give.
As if he knew that would come out, Lee Hyun nodded once and moved to the kitchen first.
“This is food sent by Jinheonjae. You’ve eaten it before, Han Yerin?”
“Yes. The food was really good.” The food from Jinheonjae, which she had eaten twice before
, once when she followed him to a breakfast meeting and once when Mrs. Yoon personally brought a packed lunch to the company,
suited Yerin’s taste just right.
“Listen. You must be very hungry.”
“I’ll eat well. Enjoy your meal, Lee Hyun.”
Seeing Yerin pick up her chopsticks, Lee Hyun also slowly picked up his spoon.
The only sound that could be heard in the quiet house was the clanking of the spoons.
After finishing the meal, Lee Hyun moved the dishes to the dishwasher and took out a bottle of wine from the wine cellar.
Yerin’s eyes widened when he saw that.
Not missing that moment, Lee Hyun took out a wine glass and continued talking.
“I’m going to drink alone today.”
“Yes, I absolutely have no intention of drinking.”
“The weather is nice. Shall we go out to the terrace?”
“Okay.”
Lee Hyun even brought a blanket to cover Yerin and went out to the terrace first.
The two sat side by side on the terrace, where they could see the night view of Seoul at a glance.
As I mentioned earlier, Lee Hyun poured wine in front of me and water in Yerin’s wine glass.
It was the complete opposite of how Yerin had always been the only one drinking alcohol while they were together.
Ta-da—
Their glasses clinked in the air, making a refreshing sound.
The red wine flowed into Lee Hyun’s mouth.
His loudly throbbing throat further highlighted his masculinity.
As Yerin was admiring Lee Hyun’s handsome face without realizing it,
Lee Hyun turned his face away without warning, and their gazes became deeply intertwined in the air.
Yerin felt embarrassed and let out a bashful laugh, thinking that she had been caught staring at him.
Lee Hyun put the wine glass down on the table with a thud and turned his body toward Yerin.
“Ms. Han Yerin.”
“Yes, Mr. Lee Hyun.”
“From now on, let’s only drink with me.”
“What do you mean?”
When Yerin’s eyes widened, Lee Hyun leaned a little closer to her.
“That smile, I don’t want other guys to see it.”
It seemed like he was referring to the grin he had given Lee Hyun a moment ago.
Even after Yerin slowly nodded, the silence continued for quite some time.
As the air surrounding the two of them grew tense, Lee Hyun’s soft low voice filled the quiet space.
“Can I do what Han Ye-rin did today?”
“… … .”
It seemed like she knew what it was without me having to explain it in detail.
Yerin bit her lips while tightly holding the hand that was on her lap.
Lee Hyun lifted his arm and pressed his thumb against her lips, pulling out what had entered between her teeth.
The place where his thumb touched was so hot.
It was as if it was boiling.
Lee Hyun slowly closed the distance between them, perhaps thinking that silence was affirmation.
Yerin stared at Lee Hyun’s handsome face that was getting closer to her and then slowly closed her eyes.
Lee Hyun grabbed the back of Yerin’s head with one hand and blew air into her without giving her a chance to escape.
The beginning was gentle, like sucking on soft cotton candy.
But soon, as Hyun Lee poured out his stimulation like a big wave, Yerin shut her eyes tightly and didn’t know what to do.
Because Hyun Lee rarely gave her any space or leeway, hot breaths burst out of Yerin’s mouth without stopping.
As if he was trying to make it so that she couldn’t have any other thoughts, Hyun Lee heated Yerin up.
Yerin unconsciously raised her arms and wrapped them around Hyun Lee’s shoulders because her body kept trying to fall backwards.
Because of that, their bodies were pressed even tighter.
When she really felt like she was reaching her limit, Hyun Lee gently let her go, as if he was trying to take a short break.
As I stared at Lee Hyun’s two eyes looking at me, I remembered the hot first night that I had sealed in my memory, and my whole body tingled.
Lee Hyun lifted Yerin up while wrapping his arms around her waist.
Soon, Yerin settled on Lee Hyun’s thighs just like last time.
Feeling his thighs as hard as a chair, Yerin avoided his gaze, so Lee Hyun gently grabbed her chin and turned her around again.
“Where are you looking? You should look at me.”
“You’re too close.”
Yerin tried to open the distance a little by pushing Lee Hyun’s solid chest with her two arms.
“What is this?”
Lee Hyun let out a snicker as if he found it amusing.
“I should show you what it’s like to be really close.”
And as if he really wanted to keep his promise, he gently cupped Yerin’s lips again.
Since he had been pushing away all this time, it didn’t seem bad to accept Lee Hyun completely for once.
As that thought came to mind, Yerin slowly pushed the hand that was pushing Lee Hyun’s chest up and grabbed his shoulder. Lee
Hyun was pulling Yerin’s waist with both hands, and Yerin swung her arms around his shoulders to close the distance even further.
The distance had really gotten closer.
It was the moment she could feel it with her own eyes.
***
A dark jazz bar.
Seoyoon was looking at her cell phone, which was too quiet, and getting irritated.
“When on earth are you going to set up a blind date with Chief Chaehyun?”
She was waiting, believing that Assemblyman Kwak would somehow set up another meeting with Lee Hyun, but she never heard from him.
‘Could it be that Chaehyun is being adamant that she won’t go on the blind date?’
Thinking that, she became anxious for no reason.
‘I should have chosen Chaehyun before Han Yerin.’
She had been putting effort into a loser like Park Heejun.
She regretted that time in the past so much.
If he hadn’t stolen Yerin’s ex-boyfriend, Heejun, Yerin wouldn’t have gotten involved with Lee Hyun.
‘Ah, this really pisses me
off.’ As things were about to get messed up, he felt impatient, wondering if things could go this well.
At that exact moment, he heard the sound of footsteps and stopped in front of the table where Seoyoon was sitting alone. He
slowly raised his head and saw Heejun standing there with a sorrowful expression.
He wanted to spend time alone because his head was already in a mess, but even that was ruined because of Heejun who suddenly showed up.
Seoyoon asked in a sharp voice,
“Why here?”
“You’re usually at your house or the club, and here.”
“So why did you come to see me?” He barely held back those words from coming out of his mouth
when he could have grabbed Han Yerin and wooed her . Heejun sat down in front of Seoyoon and poured himself a cupful of amber liquid and drank it in one gulp. Then he let out a deep sigh and put it down on the table with a thud. “Kwak Seo-yoon, did you tell me to get along with Han Ye-rin again just to screw me over more?” “What are you talking about?” Seo-yoon ran a hand through her hair as if she was dumbfounded. “There really seems to be no room for me to squeeze in between Cha Yi-hyun and Han Ye-rin.” “Haa. It’s up to you to fill that gap.” Seo-yoon clicked her tongue as if she was frustrated. “I went to Han Ye-rin’s office today, right? I told you, it seemed like they were living together?” “Living together?” A sharp voice came out of Seo-yoon’s mouth. “What are you talking about?” When Seo-yoon leaned forward to show interest, Hee-jun made an arrogant face and started telling her the story he heard today. “Do you know that there was a murder case in the villa where Han Ye-rin lived?” “No?” It was the first time she had heard that. “I went to Han Ye-rin’s house to see her, but people kept loitering around. So when I asked, I heard that there was a murder in the house downstairs where Han Ye-rin lives.” “Oh my.” Seo-yoon screamed in disbelief and quickly swept her arms with both hands. “Oh my, how is the security in that house that there was a murder? Han Ye-rin really lives in a shabby place.” “I see. How could you live in a place like that just to save a penny… .” Hee-jun shook his head. “Anyway, Han Ye-rin’s personality wouldn’t allow her to live in that house even if something like that happened.” “Of course! How could she continue to live in that house so ominously?”
“So I went to find a place to stay for the time being, but well.”
“But.”
“Cha Yi-hyun said he wanted to go look at furniture with me and took Han Ye-rin with him.”
“What?”
Seo-yoon reached for her glass, as if she was genuinely shocked, but then froze.
“He said we should get a small bed. I thought we were newlyweds.”
“Oppa!”
Hee-jun narrowed his eyes at Seo-yoon, who was suddenly yelling at him.
“Hey, lower your voice. Did you pay the deposit for this place?”
“What kind of metaphor are you using to make people feel bad?”
“What am I?”
“Newlyweds?”
Seo-yoon clicked her tongue as if she was angry even though she was saying it herself.
“Do you think someone with nothing like Han Ye-rin could marry Chief Cha Yi-hyun?”
“No, I thought so at first too… … .”
However, Lee-hyun’s gaze as he looked at Ye-rin was becoming more and more sincere as the days passed.
“Ha, this guy is talented at making candles anyway.”
Heejun belatedly thought, “Oh no,” at the sound of Seo-yoon’s voice, which had become much colder than before.
