MMORPG : Ancient WORLD - #104 - 104 Skill Testing
‘I will need to meet with Badger to understand the whole situation.’ Alex thought after talking on the call and confirming that Badger’s message was not a prank.
Alex knew Badger was just a pawn being forcefully used by the people from Human Empire to meet with him, and Badger couldn’t even warn him because of a strict Watcher Contract.
Alex knew that if he went to meet with Badger, the people from the Empire would try to force a Watcher Contract on him, but he was not even a bit worried about getting forced into a contract like Badger and the others.
Alex was not worried that people from the Empire would force him into a Watcher contract because to do that, they needed to threaten him with his life which was not happening as Varon, his guardian, would be present beside him to provide protection.
‘I can’t use my authority as the Ruler to attack any organization, but it doesn’t stop me from protecting myself.’ Alex thought with a smile, knowing that after becoming the Ruler, he gained many benefits and protection from being targeted by the strong was one of them.
‘Let’s start the testing of my skills.’ Alex thought as he took out a Silver quality sword he had acquired at the start of his journey and placed it on the floor.
‘This is fascinating to watch.’ Alex thought as he touched the spear tip to the sword and used Absorb skill.
After getting the command, the spear started releasing a pitch-black miasmic smoke that quickly covered the sword, and in less than three seconds, the smoke was absorbed back into the spear, leaving no trace of the sword.
Alex didn’t know what happened inside the black miasmic smoke, but he was sure that the spear completely absorbed all the material from the sword as there was not a speck of waste released by the spear.

[Hardened Steel Sword](Silver) [Absorbed]
[Hardened Steel Sword] (Form) [Recorded]
[Nimble Movement] (Skill) [Wasted]
[Umbris Restored] [0.00000003]

‘A silver quality sword only restored one point out of the ten million needed to complete a single percent.’ Alex thought as he counted the zeros after the point to ensure he was not hallucinating.
‘Umbris is a weapon forged by an Ancient Titan with the potential to reach higher quality than the Mythical, so it makes sense it will need better resources than some low-quality steel.’
‘Let’s check the process of transformation.’ Alex thought as he used the transform skill, and in a split second, the spear’s hard metal turned soft, and after bending and twisting, it transformed into the exact replica of the hardened sword steel.
‘This sword feels flawless.’ Alex thought after just a single glance at the transformed sword in his hand.
The sword was the exact replica of the hardened steel sword but just in its shape because everything from its weight to the sharpness of the blade was completely different.
Alex was not a sword expert, but he had used enough swords to know that this was the best sword he had ever held.
‘If the High Ranking Blacksmiths discovered the abilities of Umbris, they will pay me a fortune to research them.’ Alex thought with a happy smile as he stood up from the throne to do some sword practice.
‘I wonder if every Mythical quality weapon has this function or if it is Unique to just a few weapons.’ Alex thought after testing a few basic to hard sword moves.
Alex had never used a weapon of higher quality than Unique, so he had no experience with a bound weapon, and to his surprise, he could feel every sword swing he made, and with a bit of focus, he could even remember every detail of all his weapon movements.
Alex could feel the power behind each swing, the trajectory of the sword, and even the timing between each of his swings, and this detailed data of all his weapon movements was a treasure trove.
If Alex could adequately use this data, he could improve his fighting style tremendously, and it could even help him learn weapon-related skills much faster.
‘I will need time and training to get accustomed to this new feeling.’ Alex thought as he sat on the throne.
‘Let’s keep testing.’ Alex thought as he took out all the weapons he had in his inventory which were very few, because he was selling all of his loot for money, and now only loot from his last few adventurers was left.
Alex first absorbed the five most useful categories of weapons to fill the recorded weapons slots because he didn’t know if the recorded weapon form could be replaced or not, but to his delight, he could replace any individual recorded weapon.
Alex kept using the Absorb skill while hoping for a skill evolution, but even after Umbris consumed all his available weapons, not a single skill evolved.
‘I knew the chance of skill evolution would be very low, but I was hoping to get lucky.’ Alex thought as he looked toward Umbris’s restoration percentage.
[Umbris Restored] [0.00000258]
The number increased by 237 points which was meager as it required 10 million to reach just one percent, but Alex was happy with the growth because Umbris only absorbed fourteen weapons, with just two of them being of gold quality.
‘I will need at least a few hundred weapons of high quality to properly understand the potential of my legacy weapon and if it has any limits.’ Alex thought.
‘I wonder how much more time Varon will take to return, but let’s check the forums in the meantime.’ Alex thought as he placed Umbris into his inventory and opened the forums to see what kind of proposals big guilds offered him.
‘I don’t see any offer by big guilds, which is strange.’ Alex thought while scrolling through the main page of the game forum.
‘Now that I think about it, I didn’t receive any messages from anyone.’ Alex thought, realizing he didn’t even receive any golden token messages.
Alex knew he would receive the maximum amount of golden messages after he went online, but as he never planned to respond to anyone, so he didn’t even focus on them until now.
‘There is no way big guilds won’t make lucrative offers to a player who acquired a high-Rank legacy, let alone someone like me who not only acquired [SSS] Rank legacy but also became the Ruler of a hidden continent.’ Alex thought, checking the recent post of every big guild, but to his surprise, he found nothing related to himself.
After confirming that there was nothing related to him on the forums, Alex came to a conclusion that both surprised and confused him.
‘This would only happen if Zero never announced my achievements which I had never heard of happening before, but only that could explain the current situation.’ Alex thought, bewildered.
‘The only way to find the truth is by checking the system notification log.’ Alex thought as he swiftly opened the system log to find the truth.
While Alex was checking the system notification log, the twelve leaders and Varon, whom he thought had left the throne room, were still present in the room while having a discussion related to him.

“I was surprised that the new Ruler has the same level of Dark Element Natural Talent as Ruler Ahura, but I never thought he would even have enough talent in the Time element to get recognized by Umbris.” The werewolf clan leader said, looking at Alex, who was currently scrolling through the system notification log with a big frown.
“I am more surprised that he didn’t select any of the Magical Fruit.” Terzogg the Merfolk Clan leader said.
“If he had a greedy nature, First Ruler wouldn’t have chosen him for the position of Ruler in these desperate times,” Bellatrix said while giving Telarion, the dragon clan leader, a cheeky smirk.
After hearing Bellatrix’s taunt, Telarion was visibly pissed as vain covered his forehead, and the mana around him was disturbed, but he said nothing and just stood silently while giving her a death glare.
“The kid does have good potential, and if we guide him in the right direction, he could become a great Ruler and save our lineage from getting erased.” Regrim, the undead clan leader, said in his cold, rough voice.
“Domain Guardian Varon, Now that we know that Domain Ruler has the talent for time element, do you want me to make contact with him earlier than we discussed?” The Elf clan leader asked, looking toward Varon, who was smiling from ear to ear while looking toward Alex.
“Ysildea, Domain Ruler is a Human and a mere youngster. If he is given too many benefits, it will do him more harm than good.” Varon said, shaking his head.
“It’s time all of you leave for your clans, and do remember to brief all the other clans about our discussion and how they need to do things related to the Domain leader,” Varon said, and like waiting for his orders, all the leader started to vanish one after other.
“Varon, If the Domain Ruler wants to learn about his Dark Law Rune Codex, I will not reject his request,” Regrim said before vanishing from his place.
“He won’t even know about his greatest gift until he reaches the peak of the Elementalist Rank,” Varon said with a smile as he turned toward Alex, who now had a bright smile while looking at the blue holographic screen.
