MMORPG : Ancient WORLD - #110 - 110 Guardian Elmara
“Guardian Elmara is a researcher who loves experimenting, learning about new things, and gaining more knowledge, so her personality is a little different from normal people,”
“Guardian Elmara, just like me, has more than one bloodline, and because of her bloodline and her true researcher mentality, she doesn’t like talking about anything other than the topic that could provide her with new knowledge.”
“After the Demons infected the inhabitants of the Malefis Domain with the Devourer Curse, Elmara has been researching for the cure, and in the last few decades, her personality has changed drastically for the worse.”
“I am just trying to say if Elmara talks to you rudely, please don’t hold it against her, as she is not a bad person at heart,” Varon said while walking toward the research center.
‘I appreciate his concern, but I am not some rich young master who can’t handle some insult.’ Alex thought, not caring about the second guardian’s personality.
“Varon, You said guardian Elmara’s personality is partially different because of her bloodline, so do you mind telling me about her bloodline?” Alex asked, interested to know more about the second guardian.
“Elmara has the Bloodline of Ancient Dwarf and Mystic Giant,” Varon replied.
‘I know a little about the Mystic Giant from the few history books I read, and they are one of the wisest known creatures, and as for her unique personality, it’s not surprising as all dwarfs have that, and Ancient Dwarfs will not be any different.’ Alex thought.
After getting the answer, Alex didn’t ask any other questions even though he had a few more questions related to the domain guardians that he would like answered, but he was not desperate to gain that information.
Alex silently walked toward the research center in the distance while trying to imagine what a person would look like who had the bloodline of a dwarf, known to be short in height, and a giant, known to be one of the tallest species.
After walking for a few minutes, Alex and Varon reached the building’s front gate, which had two words inscribed on it in some ancient language.
“FUCK OFF,” Alex heard a clear voice as he looked toward the words inscribed on the gate.
Varon didn’t say anything about the words and walked toward the gate and placed his hand on it, and after a few moments, the plain-looking gate got covered in brownish rusty runes that vanished as quickly as they appeared, and then the gate got slowly opened.
After the gate fully opened, Varon entered it, and Alex followed behind him, and after navigating through many complicated passages, they reached a Black iron door that was in the depth of the building.
‘This building is massive, with at least a few hundred rooms, but I saw no staff.’ Alex thought as he silently stood a few feet behind Varon.
The building was well-lighted, with the sealing having light stone every few feet making the empty and silent building less gloomy.
“Domain Ruler, Lady Elmara is over two hundred years old,” Varon said as he walked toward the iron door.
‘Why is he telling me her age?’ Alex thought, not understanding what Varon meant by his statement.
Varon didn’t open the door but knocked on it, stepped a few steps back, and silently waited for it to open.
After waiting in silence for ten minutes, the door slowly opened, and a breathtaking beauty exited the room.
‘I am not certain, but she could be the most beautiful woman I have seen in both of my lives.’ Alex thought with wide eyes as he looked toward the elegant beauty.
The lady was wearing a silver dress that completely covered her body, leaving nothing bare other than her face, and even her hands were covered in dark gloves, but her face beauty alone was off the chart.
‘She must be the assistance of Lady Elmara.’ Alex thought, not taking his eyes off her.
Alex was silently admiring the otherworldly beauty of the lady when she started speaking, and even though she clearly insulted him, which should have made him a little mad but for some reason, he felt very good about the insult.
“Varon, why have you come to disturb my peace? And who is this hormone-loaded cockroach?” The lady asked in her calm and sweet voice.
“Lady Elmara, This gentleman here is the newly chosen Domain Ruler, so I will really appreciate it if you show him appropriate respect,” Varon said as he snapped his finger, making a dark runic symbol appear on Alex’s forehead, helping him return to his senses.
‘What the fuck was that?’ Alex thought as he rewound the last few seconds of his life.
After laying eyes on Lady Elmara, Alex felt like she was beautiful, but in moments, that feeling of admiration for her beauty turned to deep affection, and even the insult she threw at him felt like the greatest of compliments.
‘I wonder what kind of ******* magic she used on me to affect my feeling to such a degree in mere moments.’ Alex thought.
‘Now I understand why Varon told me her age.’ Alex thought as he warily looked toward Lady Elmara while constantly reminding himself she was two hundred years old.
‘I was getting too comfortable around these monsters knowing they can’t harm me.’ Alex thought with a warry smile understanding that these behemoths at the top of the food chain could do many things to him without ever harming him.
“He could have my respect when he could see me in my eyes without getting help from anyone.” Lady Elmara replied, not giving a crap about Alex Ruler’s status.
Alex didn’t say anything back to Lady Elmara because he clearly understood that a guardian’s duty was to protect the Ruler and the domain, but being respectful to the Ruler or being his lap dog was not their duty.
“I believe you have come here because you plan to use a [Nirvana Elixir], so don’t waste time giving me that old frigid look and come in quickly.” Lady Elmara said with a smile as she walked back into the room.
“Domain Ruler, The inside of the Elmara research room is not pretty, so I will advise you to mentally prepare yourself before entering,” Varon said as he entered the room.
Alex took deep breaths to stay calm and quickly followed Varon, entering the room knowing that whatever messed up thing he would see inside couldn’t be worse than the destroyed cities of elves littered with blood and gore.
Alex had seen many messed up things in his previous life, and the devourer beast rampage on the elf continent was the worst thing because any city lost to the Rage beast was left with nothing but blood and mangled body part of elves and NPC adventurers.
‘I underestimated her spirit of the researcher.’ Alex thought as he looked at the clean yet messed up inside of the research room.
The room was massive, and everything was clean, but the things inside it were not very nice, as there were at least a few hundred glass pods filled with different color liquids, and inside the pods were unknown body parts and incomplete bodies of different creatures.
The pods were organized neatly in the whole room, with a few being placed on stands and some hanging from the ceiling, but what surprised Alex was that many of the specimens were alive as he could see their eyes moving, which were filled with nothing but torment.
‘I don’t know why these specimens are conscious in the first place, but I can’t do anything about the situation, so there is no point in even trying to act like a hero.’ Alex thought, knowing he couldn’t change the miserable condition of these specimens.
After a brief look around the room, Alex stopped looking around and walked to ward Varon and Elmara, who were having a casual discussion.
“I am going to prepare my equipment, so don’t bother me,” Elmara said as she vanished, leaving Varon alone.
“Domain Ruler, Would you like a moment of peace, or do you want me to explain our purpose for visiting this not-so-nice place?” Varon asked with a smile in a calm and friendly tone.
“I would like to know about our purposes for this visit,” Alex said, already knowing what it could be.
“We are here because I want to demonstrate something very special to you,” Varon said as a small vial appeared in his hand.
“The Nirvana Elixir,” Alex mumbled as he looked at the small vial in Varon.
The small vial looked ordinary, and it only had a single shimmering drop of gold liquid inside it, but even a mortal could tell that the drop of liquid was extremely special because even while being inside the vial, it was gathering a ludicrous amount of mana from the environment toward it.
“This is indeed a vial with Nirvana Elixir, which is also the only known cure for the Devourer Curse,” Varon said as he handed the vial to Alex.
