My Students Regret It After I Retired - Chapter 101
100 – Ability Guide, Awakened Enas
Racard considered various situations.
Among them, the worst was Leos fighting the Celestial Assembly alone.
‘No matter what, I must awaken Enas. Based on the information I’ve gathered, when observing Enas, it’s clear that she has a strong attachment to Leos, so I can use that.’
It had already been quite a while since Enas entered the safe zone, so Racard had also been carefully observing her, since she was connected to Leos. Even if it was brief, she was even part of the Crimson Banner.
What Racard learned while observing Enas was one thing.
Enas was always, at every moment, looking at Leos.
Even if someone was talking or something else was happening, if Leos was nearby, she observed his actions. All of her attention was on Leos, and all of her actions were based on Leos.
If Keltazar was consumed by a madness for the Emperor in a bad way, Enas was consumed by a madness for Leos in a slightly different sense.
‘It must be accompanied by a strong will.’
Racard kept that in mind and went to find Enas.
*
“You were looking for me?”
“Yes.”
Enas and Racard faced each other. Enas was staring blankly into the air with eyes that showed no particular interest.
“Enas.”
“You know my name.”
“You were in the Crimson Banner, and above all, you were Leos’s former disciple.”
Ena flinched the moment the name Leos was uttered.
“There was a time…”
Though within the same safe zone, Ena and Leos couldn’t connect. Partly because they were quite far apart, and Leos was constantly going back and forth to battle with only a very small group of soldiers, making it impossible to even get a glimpse of him, let alone talk. However, Ena knew that Lacart was with Leos. After a few moments of hesitation, she asked the question that had been on her mind.
“Is Leos…doing alright?”
“How could he be? As you know, he almost lost his companions trying to kill the Emperor, and he seems to have trauma because of it. He’s so gripped by the fear of losing another companion, it’s plain to see.”
“I see…he’s still the same, isn’t he? More worried about the people around him than himself.”
“Ena, let me ask you directly. Do you want to help Leos?”
Ena answered without hesitation.
“Of course.”
“Even if it means losing your life?”
“Yes.”
She didn’t give any particular reason, didn’t add any flowery words. It was a simple answer, which made Lacart feel even more the sincerity of Ena’s feelings for Leos.
“I’ll explain quickly from now on. You’re part of the Red and Black Order we established, right?”
“Yes, that’s right. I volunteered when they said they were gathering people to attack the Emperor. But later, they decided it would be better to go with a small elite group, so I didn’t get to participate.”
“Right, that’s accurate. The Emperor is dead now, but there is still one more enemy left. Their name is Cheonsanghoe.”
“Cheonsanghoe…”
“The group is made up of those who use abilities like Leos. They possess a level of power that is worlds apart from ordinary people, and especially the head of Cheonsanghoe is a monster, an overwhelming force that’s hard to describe. We have someone with abilities on our side, but they’re injured and cannot go to battle. So currently, Leos is the only one capable of fighting.”
“A…Are you crazy? Someone needs to help him. You’re going to make Leos fight those strong people alone? How can you do something so ridiculous?”
Ena added, a menacing expression on her face.
“If it’s fear of death that’s holding you back, then I’ll go with Leos. Even if I’m just a decoy, I’ll help him.”

Lakart shook his head.
“It’s not like *we* want to put Leos in danger alone. We all said as much, but the answer we got back from Leos was always the same. If he were to be captured as a prisoner, he’d just be a hindrance, that it would be a *loss* for us if we followed.”
“But…!”
Enas tried to object to Lakart’s words. But Lakart opened his mouth right away, as if he knew what she was about to say.
“So you think it’s better to have more people, no matter what? How many seconds do you think you could last going to a place teeming with strong fighters on par with Leos?”
“…”
“If it’s too hard to understand in abstract terms, let me ask a different question. How many exchanges do you think you could last in a fight against Leos?”
Enas thought for a moment. And based on the battles Leos had shown in the past, and considering the powers she had gained in the present, she made a rough calculation of how much she could handle.
“Considering Leos-nim’s recently acquired ability to wield a sword, and his other abilities… assuming Leos-nim wasn’t holding back, I’d die in one exchange.”
“Right, and you’re not the only one. Most of the people here could be killed by Leos in less than 10 seconds if he put his mind to it. And the Heaven’s Assembly troops, one by one, while not as strong as Leos, have powers that are strong enough, and it’s presumed that the leader of the Heaven’s Assembly is even stronger than Leos. So, how are *you* going to help? You wouldn’t even make a decent decoy.”
Enas began to shed tears, her eyes full of frustration. She had joined the Scarlet Corps because she had vowed to help Leos, even if it meant throwing away her life. But what was the reality? They thought it was better not to take allies who would just be captured, and only a very small fraction of the Scarlet Corps fought with Leos, and now, even if she risked her life, she wouldn’t be of any help to him.
Fueled by the guilt of not having trusted him in the past, Enas wanted to help Leos even if it meant risking her life, but the fact that she couldn’t help due to her own lack of ability was so miserable and unfair. And that feeling flowed out as tears.
“I want to…I want to help…I want to help Leos-nim…”
Enas knew all too well that she was not helpful, so she bit her lip hard. Blood flowed from her lip, but she only bit down harder. Watching the drops of blood falling, Lakart spoke to Enas.
“But Enas, there is a way you can help Leos.”
The moment Lakart’s words were heard, Enas urgently grabbed the hem of Lakart’s clothes and began to beg.
“A way… what’s the way, is there a way I can help Leos-nim?”
The fire of passion began to fill Enas’s lifeless eyes. The will that had been broken was ignited with a blazing flame.
Lakart had previously worked in the assassination squad, so he was adept at manipulating people’s emotions. No matter how strong a person is, their will is not manifested in the worst of situations. After despair, if even a sliver of hope appears, humans unleash a stronger will than anyone else, and they try to overcome that situation.
‘Now, just one more step left.’
It showed despair, and this time, it revealed that there was hope.
Only one thing remained. To specifically explain how to achieve that hope, how to stand alongside Leos again, in a single word.
“Leos possesses a trait called an Ability Factor Conductor. Their fates are strongly intertwined, and only those with a stronger will than anyone else can awaken their ability through Leos.”
“…I’m not someone so important to Leos that our fates are intertwined.”
“No, your fate is intertwined. Leos himself acknowledged it.”
“Huh…?”
Enas began to mutter blankly.
“Leos…said that my fate is intertwined with his…? Really…? Really? I thought I’d never…never have anything to do with him again… Really, does Leos really think of me that way?”
Lakart realized that Enas was misunderstanding the meaning of his words. Leos hadn’t stated that as a personal opinion, he was merely conveying what his ability was indicating. But Enas was clearly misunderstanding.
‘Leos thinks of her as so important that he would say their fates are intertwined… Is she mistaking it for something like that?’
Indeed, Enas muttered like a madwoman.
“If…if Leos truly thinks of me that way, if I…if I do well, could I…could we be companions again like before? No… if it’s possible, just that it’s possible…”
Enas had believed that she could never be Leos’s student again, that it was impossible to go back, that they would live as strangers for the rest of their lives. But hope was beginning to flood her. Leos had said their fates were intertwined. And even strongly so.
Lakart, as if the time had come, sent a signal to Leos.
“Come out, Leos.”
Leos, who had been hidden behind them, listening to the conversation. He slowly walked out, and Enas’s eyes caught sight of Leos. Unable to properly meet his gaze, Enas stood there blankly, then immediately spoke to Lakart beside her.
“Tell me. Strong will… How can I have that? If I fulfill that, I can obtain an ability, right? I can fight alongside Leos, right? I can help Leos, right! Please tell me. I’ll do whatever it takes to help…”
Enas spoke with a desperate expression, but Lakart was smiling brightly, a look she had never seen before.
“Enas, you’ve already fulfilled both conditions. That yearning you have for Leos, that’s a will stronger than anyone else’s.”
“…?”
Enas, in a daze, stared at Lacart.
Leos, right in front of Enas, spoke to her.
“Enas, if you awaken your ability, can you help me?”
A cooperative operation with Leos, something she thought would never happen again in her life. At the sight of him directly proposing it, Enas nodded, tears streaming down her face.
“I can help you as many times as you need.”
At that moment, an intense light began to emanate from Enas’s body.
A light stronger than any before, bursting forth.
Leos’s ability-inducer trait, far more dazzling than it had been with Keltazar, was radiating from Enas.
