My Students Regret It After I Retired - Chapter 104
103 – Enas’s Resolve
The Heavenly Sovereign, having eliminated all the Heavenly Sovereign members with her own hands.
Leos, unable to understand her intent, stood behind her, taking no action. The Heavenly Sovereign, as if enjoying this, smiled and asked,
“You have a look of confusion on your face. Like you’re wondering why I killed all of them when I have a force?”
Leos remained silent. The Heavenly Sovereign slowly surveyed the bodies on the ground, adding to her words for Leos.
“Since you seem curious, let me tell you, these guys were never my forces. You can’t call those wretched humans, so shameful to even utilize, a force. At least to be called my ally, they need to be highly intelligent beings or wield overwhelming strength. And if not, they’d need something like unwavering will that can’t be broken by death. But those fools I just killed were all garbage, living and acting only for their own gain. They were brimming only with ugly lust for power and greed; the affairs of the world were nothing to them.”
“Isn’t that the same as you? You manipulated the Empire as you pleased, I don’t think you are one to talk.”
The Heavenly Sovereign shook her head at Leos’s question.
“I, in my own way, tried to lead the Empire in the right direction. There’s only one thing I wanted: a society ruled by power. A society where one’s worth is respected based on their abilities. That is what I desired.”
“So you justify treating those without power as mere tools, as garbage.”
“Then why shouldn’t I? If they’re just garbage that can’t even protect their own necks, then such humans are no different from animals. Aren’t humans also raising inferior beings, using them as they please?”
“That’s not even worth listening to.”
Leos held his five swords aloft, suspended in the air, as the Celestial Overseer sighed. She spoke with what seemed like genuine regret.
“Leos, why not join forces with me? You’re from another dimension, practically the protagonist of this world. If you and I were together, I too could leave my mark as a protagonist in this flowing world. We could find meaning in a meaningless existence, and the system’s voice would take note not just of you, but also of my life. That would make for a rather worthwhile life. At least better than dying as some character, not knowing a thing.”
“There is no compromise.”
“How unfortunate. I wanted to live actively in this world. But in the end, I too am destined to be a puppet.”
A message began to appear before the Celestial Overseer’s eyes.
[The Celestial Overseer engages in a fierce battle with Leos, who did not accept her proposal.]
“Ah…that bizarre phrase appears before my eyes again. I suppose I have to follow it again.”
The Celestial Overseer pointed her sword at Leos without any expression. At that moment.
The Celestial Overseer’s sword flew toward Leos’s face at incredible speed.
*Clang!*
But Leos used the five swords floating in the sky to block it.
“Oh ho, you managed to avoid shedding a single drop of blood despite my best efforts. That’s incredible.”
The Celestial Overseer was smiling as if amused, while Leos, on the other hand, began to shake his arm, the sensation of a strange tingling running through it.
‘Damn it…’
Leos looked at his fingers. He had only blocked one attack, yet he was taking an absurdly large amount of damage.
His joints were screaming, feeling as if they would break at any moment. But even so, Leos launched a counterattack.
“You’re actually counterattacking? I wouldn’t say that’s a good choice.”
Ignoring the Celestial Overseer’s words, Leos sent his five swords into the sky, dropping them one by one on the Celestial Overseer like meteors with timed intervals, while he lowered his body and charged in with his longsword.
The moment Leos’s longsword was swung to cut the Celestial Overseer’s neck, she flicked it away with her bare hand.
But it wasn’t over yet. The moment the five swords floating in the sky began to fall, one by one.
“Testing the waters, are you?”
Instead of waiting for the five swords to fall from the sky, the Heavenly Sovereign pushed off the ground, leaping straight into the air. And using that momentum, he simply flicked his wrist, knocking down all five of Leo’s swords.
But the swords, merely weakened for a moment, weren’t shattered. They immediately surged back towards the Heavenly Sovereign.
“Tough, aren’t they.”
This time, the Heavenly Sovereign brought his blade down with all his might, from high to low, intending to shatter the swords. But at that instant—
*Kiiiik-kiiiik…Kiiiigik…*
The swords, brimming with Leo’s mana, blocked his attack. While Leo was blocking the Heavenly Sovereign’s sword, the five swords spread out again, beginning to target him.
Like deranged drones, the five swords spun wildly, finally slicing past the Heavenly Sovereign’s shoulder.
“Hoo, drew blood for the first time. It’s been ages since I felt pain, an unfamiliar sensation.”
The Heavenly Sovereign looked at the blood flowing from his shoulder, then dipped his finger in it and brought it to his mouth. Tasting the metallic tang of blood, he spoke to Leo.
“Impressive, but that won’t be enough to kill me. It seems you aren’t even going all out yet. Am I looking that easy to you? You should be giving it your all from the start, instead of taking it so easy.”
Leo stared at the Bloodshed Sword.
[Bloodshed Sword] [Mythical]
A legendary sword forged from the lives of countless people. The more people it kills, the more powerful it becomes by absorbing their energy.
※The Bloodshed Sword possesses the ability to enhance its wielder’s power itself.
※Added Ability [Waterfall of Blood]: Sweeps away all enemies within a certain radius with a blood waterfall infused with the power of the five swords. Cannot be reused until sufficient blood has been charged.
The Bloodshed Sword’s ability to enhance power itself. Thanks to it, the five swords he controlled with the Sword Spirit Soul became even more precise, and his proficiency rose to an immeasurable level. But even so, he couldn’t compare to the Heavenly Sovereign.
‘Damn the consequences.’

Leo focused his mind, activating the Sword Spirit Soul to its limit. The five swords danced sharply, charging towards the Heavenly Sovereign. He didn’t retreat, meeting all of Leo’s swords head-on where he stood.
Each clang echoed as a blade was deflected, and with each clang, the Celestial Lord’s eyes grew glazed with a rising pleasure.
“Every attack is brimming with killing intent. You’re the first to exchange so many blows with me. Struggle more. Struggle more to stay alive!”
Leos retrieved his five swords and lunged forward, immediately swinging a blade at the Celestial Lord. This time, he drew a long, left-to-right line, easily deflected by her.
Yet, as the Celestial Lord blocked Leos’s attack, one of his five blades grazed her neck.
“A pity. I was aiming to pierce your throat,” Leos panted out. The Celestial Lord touched her neck, confirming the shallow wound. Easily healed, but she left it be, and charged at Leos.
The Celestial Lord, who had refrained from aggressive attacks, now rushed him with a blank expression.
Just as Leos went to parry her blade, a massive fireball plummeted from the ceiling.
*FWOOSH!*
The intense flames engulfed the surroundings, forcing Leos to leap back.
“KYaaaH!”
It was a moment later that Enas’s scream pierced the air. The rapidly spreading fire was closing in on her.
*’Shit.’*
Without a second thought, Leos threw himself toward Enas. And then.
*Sizzle…Ssszzzz…*
“Ah… Ugh… Ah… Leos…Leos…”
Enas stared at him, her expression vacant.
Leos had shielded Enas, taking the brunt of the flames, his entire body seared with burns. But that wasn’t all. The Celestial Lord had seized the opening, driving her blade home.
The sword was embedded in Leos’s shoulder, his body covered in burns.
“I’m sorry… I’m sorry… Leos, because of me…because of me…”
Enas, unable to even form a coherent sentence, wept as she watched Leos writhe in pain.
Leos stared back at Enas, silent for a moment, before finally speaking.
“It was a misjudgment. I cannot defeat the Celestial Lord. Run.”
“What are you talking about? How can I run away alone?”
“I’ll hold them off. You, at least, must survive and tell the people in the safe zone to leave. To flee as far as possible, somewhere beyond the Celestial Lord’s reach. I’ll buy you time until then. Hide, in the earth, anywhere, and stay alive.”
Enas shook her head from side to side.
“I can’t… I can’t leave you, Leos. If we die here, I’ll fight with you to the very end.”
With trembling hands, Enas grasped Leos’s hand. And then, she stood in front of him.
“You won’t die, not before I do.”
