My Students Regret It After I Retired - Chapter 105
104 – A Realized Wish
“What is this?”
The Celestial Lord tilted his head, looking at Enas. Because, Enas was holding one of Leos’ swords and facing him.
“Have you gone mad? Even Leos was no match for me. If you wish to throw away your life, I shall gladly oblige.”
As the Celestial Lord reached out to kill Enas, she spoke to Leos.
“Run. I’ll… I’ll hold him off for even a few seconds. In that time, you…”
Leos looked at Enas, tears streaming down his face. She was taken aback. Leos, who had never once shed a tear, was crying.
She had thought the emotion of sadness didn’t exist for him. Even when his comrades died, Leos never cried.
He would only rage and seek revenge. Even when mourning, Leos never showed sadness. But now, seeing Leos, Enas realized. It wasn’t that he didn’t feel sadness; he had simply hidden his emotions.
“I’m sorry.”
Leos, apologizing to Enas, added,
“I could tell from your actions that you had your reasons. Logically, if you hadn’t trusted me from the beginning and tried to reject me, you wouldn’t be moving to help me like this now. But it was hard to forgive. I resented you. No matter how difficult things were, you wouldn’t trust me, wouldn’t contact me even once. You wouldn’t even say a single word to tell me that all those long hours weren’t for nothing. That’s how much I hated you. I resented you, along with the other disciples.”
“Leos-nim…?”
Leos walked to Enas, and with his bloodstained hand, stroked her hair.
“Enas, though I couldn’t say it, the moment you said you would risk your life to help me, I thought that if everything was resolved, I wanted to go back to how we were before. It’s ridiculous, but I thought that if I returned safely, I wanted us to be the way we were.”
Enas’s heart throbbed like crazy.
Back to how we were before.
Back to those days with Leos,
If she lived and returned, she could go back to that time she thought would never come again.
“I’m sorry, Enas. And thank you.”
Leos immediately flung Enas behind him, then charged towards the Celestial Lord.
“Keeeaaah!”
Screaming, Leos began to slash at the Celestial Lord with his sword. This time, without any thought for defense or any consequences, he used swordsmanship solely to inflict damage on his enemy.
To injure the Celestial Lord even a little, to create an opportunity for Enas to escape.
He didn’t think he could win. The overwhelming difference in power was so clear that there was no need to even consider victory or defeat.
Thud.
With an ominous sound, a sword pierced Leos’s body.
Thud.
Following that, several of the Celestial Lord’s swords pierced Leos further, and his body quickly became a pincushion of cold blades. But Leos didn’t show any pain or cry out. The only thing he aimed for was to land a blow on the Celestial Lord.
Shick!
Leos’s sword reached the wrist of the Celestial Lord.
“Hoo…?”
The Celestial Lord looked at her wrist with a hint of amusement. This time, her wrist had almost been completely severed.
“I’ll admit it. Seeing you makes me realize I’m just a character in this story. Reaching this level of skill before even turning fifty… It’s disgustingly unfair. If you had time to grow as much as I have… no, at least half as long as I’ve lived, then surely I would have been the one to lose.”
“Kk… ugh…”
Leos didn’t pull the swords from his body, but struggled to walk toward the Celestial Lord. Even if he lost, he would inflict an injury somehow. That was all.
“It’s a shame. Once you die, I’ll be stuck in this goddamn world, waiting for someone else to finish this goddamn novel. But it can’t be helped. If you’re going to resent anyone, resent yourself for challenging me at such an inopportune time.”
As the Celestial Lord extended her hand, countless bright swords began to gather in the sky.
“…What the hell is this…?”
Leos stared blankly at the sky, and the Celestial Lord chuckled, saying,
“Did you think you were the only one with multiple powers? I too, possess many abilities like you. I’ll decorate your final path splendidly.”
Leos was in despair, realizing that the power the Celestial Lord had shown so far wasn’t her full strength. But he raised his sword once more.
Using the Sword Demon Soul ability, he launched five swords into the sky.
“Foolish. Do you really think you can stop hundreds of blades with a mere five swords?”
The Celestial Lord closed her eyes for a moment, then looked at the silent Leos and whispered,
“Your story ends here.”
As the Celestial Lord pointed her hand downward, the swords floating in the air all began to fall to the ground. Like a tidal wave suddenly flooding, countless swords rushed to trample Leos.
But in that moment.
“What the hell is this…?”
A blinding, insane light began to pour out from around Leos.
The swords that had been embedded in his body fell to the ground with a clatter, and Leos’s body, which had been torn to shreds, was instantly restored.
And not just that.
In the air, thousands of crimson swords were floating.
“This can’t be…this is…”
The Celestial Lord hastily reached out, and the swords he had stopped plunged into the ground, but Leos’s red swords. They collided with the enemy swords and began to vanish in an instant.
“Vanish…vanished? My ability?”
The Celestial Lord looked around, wondering how this could possibly be happening.
‘Leos was clearly on the verge of death. He’d used up all his remaining mana and his abilities to their limits, so there was no chance of a reversal…!’
Soon, the Celestial Lord’s eyes turned to Enas.
Enas had her hands together and was praying. And Enas’s entire body was turning white. Witnessing the color and aura that resembled an angel, the Celestial Lord knew immediately.
This impossible power that had appeared in Leos was due to Enas’s ability.
The Celestial Lord quickly used his own ability to identify the weakness in Enas’s power.
[Wish: Grants what is fervently desired.]
[Currently, a wish more powerful than anything else is being activated. To nullify this, the caster’s hands must be separated.]
Having identified the weakness, the Celestial Lord immediately charged towards Enas.
“The moment those joined hands separate, that power will break. I will sever both her hands at once!”
The moment the Celestial Lord tried to cut Enas’s arms, Leos’s swords surged forward, blocking the Celestial Lord. But the Celestial Lord, unconcerned about the fact that his body was being shredded, thrust his sword towards Enas.
Due to Leos’s defense, the Celestial Lord’s sword path was diverted. Enas’s arms weren’t severed as a result, but the Celestial Lord’s sword still pierced her shoulder, going clean through.
“G…grrr…grrrkkk….”
Enas let out a quiet scream of pain, yet she did not let go of her hands.
[Wish: You desperately desire that a precious person, more than anyone, does not die. As your fervent wish is fulfilled, so long as you pray, Leos is granted power comparable to a Heavenly Ascendant. However, you gain no power whatsoever. All healing abilities are temporarily restricted.]
From noble mtl dot com
[Warning! Once the Wish is released, the ability will be extinguished.]
Thanks to Enas’s ability, Wish, Leos had gained power rivaling that of a Heavenly Ascendant, but conversely, Enas had become an immobile scarecrow. She couldn’t use her hands, couldn’t move from her spot, nor did she have any enhanced physical abilities or a protective barrier.
Once released, the ability would be extinguished, so there was no chance to retreat and then reuse it.
The Heavenly Ascendant, therefore, thought that releasing Enas’s ability would not be difficult.
“The moment my sword pierces you, it’s over. My blade is engraved with a special curse. Each second, terrible pain will surge through you. Try to endure it, if you can.”
The Heavenly Ascendant was certain. In less than 10 seconds, Enas would release her hands, collapse on the ground, and wail in agony.
But Enas simply remained kneeling, maintaining her prayerful posture.
“You b*tch!”
The Heavenly Ascendant, growing impatient, gathered all the pebbles nearby, launching them at Enas.
Yet, Enas’s eyes, filled with unwavering resolve, didn’t falter even as she watched the Heavenly Ascendant’s attack.
“Heavenly Ascendant, your time to pay for your sins has come.”
*Whoosh!*
As Leos swung his sword, a massive gust of pressure blasted away the pebbles. And then, hundreds of swords began to surround Enas, protecting her.
“Enas, just hold on a little longer.”
Enas’s body began to turn blue, likely due to the poison on the Heavenly Ascendant’s sword. But she still kept her hands clasped together, focusing on Leos, nodding.
“I can wait until I die.”
“No, you will not die.”
After speaking to Enas, Leos, just as the Heavenly Ascendant had done earlier, levitated thousands of swords into the air, and then spoke.
“Die. Celestial Sovereign.”
