Paragon of Sin - #1226 - 1226 Chapter 1220: Absolute Limit
Heptasage Pillar Stellar Region.
From the location where the Neo-Dawn Defiant Star was developed and birthed, a human-sized concentric spatial ripple manifested and slowly grew larger. It blew away the Absolute Void Region’s boundary! A frantic figure soon rolled out in a disheveled state. The figure spun like a loosed yo-yo of mortal children for a brief, embarrassing moment.
It took quite a while before they stopped themselves, their hair messy, their clothes wrinkled, and their eyes rolled about dizzily as they held their heads. By the time they gathered themselves, the ripple was gone.
“What the hell did I do to deserve that?” Wei Wuyin asked as he recalled being shuttled violently through space and time. The experience was reminiscent of being in a turbulent aircraft caught within an upper-category hurricane. As a True Void Dragon, his capacity to adapt was exceptional, but if it wasn’t for his abilities, he might be hurling chunks and bleeding from his orifices as he experienced a type of spatial and temporal sickness.
He could acutely sense the intensity behind the Mortal Dao’s anger, but it wasn’t anything like the River of Time’s will to end his existence, only a tad bit of frustration as if he had accidentally eaten the last cookie in the cookie jar without permission. This feeling gave him a strong sense of nostalgia, and nearly forgotten emotions flooded him alongside memories of his older brother and the various ‘punishments’ he would receive upon being rude, acting idiotic, or getting caught in a lie.
Fortunately, even if he were the weakest Starlord, that act of shuttling would, at most, leave him with a headache for a few days. It was insignificant relative to what the Mortal Dao could do if it wanted.
“It’s your fault. Yours and Little Chomper, hehe!” Ori’s voice teased joyfully. The happiness within its tone was evident. They had just survived their last Mortal Tribulation and reached the very peak of the Mortal Realms, opening a new path forward for them! How could it not be happy?
“Little Chomper?” Wei Wuyin inquired as he smoothly fixed his clothes and hair, regaining a pristine appearance.
“Nom nom! Little Chomper! Eating stars left and right. More of a glutton than Du Ling! More!” Ori said with laughter.
“…?” As he was asleep until recently, Wei Wuyin wasn’t certain what Ori meant. Only after Eden transferred King and Ori’s memories of observing the Mortal Star Eradication Tribulation from an obscure location did he become aware of what happened during his time of slumber.
“…” Wei Wuyin thought for a long moment. Then, he warmly smiled. “Thank you,” his earnest voice rippled through his Sea of Consciousness and into his Mind Eye. The Neo-Dawn Defiant Star was silently rotating on its axis, but its surface briefly went abnormally active with solar flares. While in his Mind’s Eye, it was extremely tiny, there was an unfathomable feeling to it.
“Let’s not call it Little Chomper, okay?” Wei Wuyin rubbed his head as he stretched out his new body.
“…Hmph!” Ori expressed its dissatisfaction. “Little Defiant?” It tested out.
Wei Wuyin bitterly smiled. In their memories, he saw how the Neo-Dawn Defiant Star grew from the peak of Supermassive to beyond the Absolute, treating those two gigantic balls of solar mass and energies as misbehaving children and eating them whole. It was a bit ridiculous to call it ‘little’, but given how Ori was doing so, it might be because of the difference in sizes between reality and inside his Mind’s Eye.
Since it had joined him in the Astral Tribulation, the Neo-Dawn Defiant Star adhered to his soul, and it could now occupy the metaphysical spaces within his body like his Astral Cores, guess he should refer to them as Star Cores from now on, and his Cosmic Dual Singularity that was positioned at his chest.
His Star Cores contained sufficient starforce to drown entire planets, yet it was firmly kept within his body without any discomfort. This was the greatest benefit of a cultivator’s metaphysical spaces, such as the Dantian and Sea of Consciousness. While it wasn’t on the same level as an Internal World of the Mystic Dao, as only things adhering to and not rejected by one’s soul could exist there, metaphysical spaces within the body were potentially limitless storage containers.
“This is problematic,” Wei Wuyin realized immediately. But his shift of focus was taken by Ori as a silent agreement and therefore would refer to the Neo-Dawn Defiant Star as Little Defiant forever…
“It’s too big,” Eden was similarly focused on Wei Wuyin’s concerns. The Neo-Dawn Defiant Star was meant to be Wei Wuyin’s epic introduction into territorial dominance, establishing itself as a radiant star in the night sky that could not be forgotten, which is why he drove it to be many times larger than the Aeternal Sky Star. However, the Mortal Star Eradication Tribulation had caused the Neo-Dawn Defiant Star to balloon to an indescribable level.
If it wasn’t for him keeping the Neo-Dawn Defiant Star in his Mind’s Eye before returning, the star would’ve simply descended here. In the briefest of moments after its arrival, the entire Sealed Region would’ve been roasted, pulled by its gravity, and assimilated into its blazing mass.
Everyone would’ve died.
“Well, maybe not everyone.” Wei Wuyin thought as he felt that the Neo-Dawn Defiant Star could perform a Bai Lin-esque feat, like with her Nirvanic Flames, and gently bring others into its radiance without harm. Unlike normal Solar Stars, the Neo-Dawn Defiant Star was a World-Bound Star Domain, and it was now a part of his cultivation base. Considering how it acted while he was asleep, he had a feeling that it had the ability to differentiate and act on its own, resembling an Astral Soul or Mystic Soul of every other cultivator, to defend itself or its cultivator.
Albeit, just barely.
“WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING?!” A voice resounded in Wei Wuyin’s Sea of Consciousness. The Heavenly War Spirit had nestled itself once again in the roots of Eden’s astral manifestation, and after a brief period of acclimation, she could now send out mental pulses. “WHAT IS THAT?!?! IS THAT THE STAR? YOUR STAR?!”
Her tone was hysterical! It was the first time Wei Wuyin heard panic, surprise, and fear in the Heavenly War Spirit’s voice. The strange entity that was priced at 5,000,000 War Souls was as mysterious as it was knowledgeable and expensive.
Wei Wuyin was about to speak when the Heavenly War Spirit continued, “No way! It’s…holy heavens! That’s impossible! What is that thing? How can it exist? Wait, how can you hold it in your Mind’s Eye? Why isn’t your soul burning?! Is it really your World-Bound Star? No way! How can it be this big? How can anything be this big?! It can’t be that massive!”
“…” Wei Wuyin was bombarded with a rampage of repeated and explosive questions. He was kind of happy that Bai Xiu wasn’t here. “You’re aware of its size?” Wei Wuyin noticed that the Heavenly War Spirit could tell the dimensions of the Neo-Dawn Defiant Star despite its reduced size in his Mind’s Eye.
“What? Of course I can tell! Oh right…Do you think because it’s small in your Inner Vision that it’s small to everyone else? Your Astral Souls should be able to grasp its size, too, just like me. After all, we’re a part of you. Anyways, this thing goes beyond what an Absolute Star should have. It is an existing impossibility!” The Heavenly War Spirit didn’t stop there; it kept hammering to Wei Wuyin the utter ‘impossibility’ that the Neo-Dawn Defiant Star was.
This lasted for three whole minutes!
“You can’t release it—EVER! You’ll bring about the end of the Sealed Regions if you do. And everyone, I mean, EVERYONE in it.” The Heavenly War Spirit finally ended her rant and calmed down, giving Wei Wuyin a firm warning.
“You think I don’t already know that?” Wei Wuyin said with a sigh. He pondered on the Heavenly War Spirit’s words as being a ‘part of him’, and he couldn’t help but grow curious as to what the Heavenly War Spirit actually was. If she was a Spirit of Dao, like Bai Xiu, then she should be separate from him, right?
He decided to see if Bai Xiu could determine the size of the Neo-Dawn Defiant Star.
Unfortunately, the debonair Wei Wuyin hadn’t entered the Battlefield because he hadn’t killed Long Chen and acquired the entrance fee, a Law Seed of War, so he hadn’t fully raised a Heavenly War Spirit or obtained one. Moreover, while knowledgeable, the entire Sacred Library had very little information about the Spirits of Dao, let alone the Heavenly War Spirit that was given to him as an egg form and had been the overseer of the Battlefield.
Wei Wuyin hadn’t even had the time to familiarize himself with his newfound powers before this unimaginable obstacle to all his plans appeared in his path. He didn’t dare try to shrink the Neo-Dawn Defiant Star. If he did, the likely outcome would be an increase in its gravitational force, likely pulling the entire Sealed Regions in after it reached a certain point.
“The real issue is that the Mortal Dao might send you a backlash. There were many insane cultivators after the One Star Era that tried to create stars larger than Absolute Solar Stars, placing them into massive World Realms, but the Mortal Dao performed Mortal Annihilation on all of them. Countless multi-billion populated clans, endless planets, and entire World Realms that held them…all were destroyed by the Mortal Dao’s rage.
“It’s taboo to go against the limit. That’s why the size of that type of star is classified as ‘Absolute’. It described the Absolute Limit.”
“…You mean 9,999 times the defined size of Absolute is the limit?” Wei Wuyin inquired.
“What?!”
