36 – Monster Paradise.
Ed and Arebizou handed over the desert lizard they caught on their way back, including the bones, for 7 million Enel and returned to their lodgings. Using the Skeleton Desert Lizard as a mount made my movement speed very fast, but since I had traveled that far, it was evening by the time I finished the transaction. After returning to the hotel and taking a clean shower, Ed came down first and waited for his two companions to come down.
“Ed, it’s been a while since I’ve seen you.”
Glowin, who greeted me in the morning and accompanied me when I went out to buy food, looked at Ed and said,
“Isn’t the amount of time you haven’t seen your face similar to yesterday?”
Yesterday, Ed stayed in his room, adjusted the skeleton, and even took a nap for the first time in a long time. Because of that, the meal times were slightly different, so I didn’t see the two people’s faces.
“Is it because I was with Mr. Arebiju yesterday? I feel a little more lonely today.”
“Ah. Um…”

Ed and Gloween were together all the way down south, but they paid less attention to them after they came to Lessand. Gloween followed Ed on his trip, but after spending enough time on the narrow train and in the lodgings to get to know Ed, I felt a little sorry, so I blurted out my words.
“Ed, Mr. Arevigou was talking about sandstorms. Shall I find out?”
Glowwin laughed lightly at Ed’s slurred speech, and cheered up with the sandstorm that Arrebijou had done before going into the shower.
“There is an information route for merchants. If that doesn’t work, I think I’ll have to go to the Hunter Guild…”
Glowyn had come to enjoy a vacation to gather information about Ed, but when Ed was gone, she spent time in her room doing nothing and walking around Les Sands by herself, so it felt more like confinement than a vacation. So I told Ed that I wanted to do something.
And Ed paid attention to the merchant Glowyn had mentioned at the beginning. When I went to the workshop to order a Skeleton Lizard’s saddle, I didn’t look closely at what was sold inside the store, but there were various equipment. Anyone who makes equipment should know what it is for, so I thought that Urum, the owner of the workshop, would know about the sandstorm.
“Mr. Urum at the processing plant might know. I’ll have to visit him tomorrow.”
Glowyn let out a light sigh, realizing that she had nothing to do as Ed searched for answers because of her hint that she was a merchant.
“Whoa. Then, when we go to get information tomorrow, let’s go together. Even if we don’t go out together, we can still hear the story, right?”
“I will. But aren’t you accustomed to resting, Mr. Glowyn?”
“Hmm. Although the innkeeper’s job seems easy, he’s quite busy with meeting people and tidying up the rooms people use. I work hard when Glodia and Mr. Ed aren’t looking, right?”
In Ed’s mind, the image of Glowyn, who always looked tired after work and spending time in the purple moonlit night, came to mind. Seeing that Glowwin was full of energy as she rode the train down to the south, she thought it must be difficult for a woman to work at an inn alone.
“Neither of us knows how to rest.”
For Ed, resting meant going home from the northern front lines and spending time with his lover, but knowing that it was playing in the hands of the two people who cheated on him, it couldn’t be called rest. Can lying comfortably, not knowing that you’ve fallen into a trap, really be resting?
“Well, in the first place, Mr. Ed came to relieve stress. Is that going well?”
“Um. It’s still not enough.”
There was a desire that the Desert Lizard could not satisfy. While Ed and Glowin were talking, Arebiju changed into comfortable clothes and came down from upstairs, and the three paid for the meal ticket and received dinner. I stayed there for a few days, but since it is an expensive accommodation, it was very convenient to pay a little extra and not have to go out to eat.

The next day, Ed headed to the processing plant with Glowin and Arebiju. It was a store I was now quite familiar with as I had stopped by a few times to buy a saddle for the Skeleton Desert Lizard. Urum, the owner of the processing plant, who was reading the newspaper as usual, slowly lowered the newspaper, checked Ed’s face in the lead, and asked.
“A saddle again?”
“Not today. Are you handling the gear you need to go deeper?”
“Yes, because most of the things handled at the processing plant are like that.”
Urum lifted his chin slightly and pointed towards the inside of the store. Until now, Ed had come to the workshop, immediately summoned the Skeleton Desert Lizard to the workshop, and went out, so to be honest, I had never really seen what was being sold inside. Inside, artifacts using monster bones and cloaks to block sand were folded and piled up.
‘If I had seen this, I would have guessed roughly.’
Glowin began to look at strange-looking items, while Ed and Areviju checked the equipment needed to overcome the sandstorm. There were a lot of things like cloaks to block out the sand, hats and goggles that covered the entire face, and Ed approached Urum to choose the right one.
“Mr. Urum, I heard from the hunter yesterday that the area beyond the Sandstorm is the real South. Can you tell me any information you know?”
“Beyond the Sandstorm is valuable information handled by the Hunter Guild, but it’s not something you’ll just listen to, right?”
“You should listen to the stories and buy any equipment you need here.”
Ed’s answer was satisfactory, so Urum nodded and folded the newspaper and placed it on the desk. Glowwin and Arebijou also heard the story of the two and approached Ed. Seeing the three of them standing in front of them, Urum opened his mouth.
“The sandy area isn’t that long. Three hours on foot? Sometimes they say it takes four hours if the section is longer. That’s why the cloak isn’t thick, it’s a thin material. I’ll wear it for a while and put it in my bag.”
I think I could go a little faster if I rode the Skeleton Desert Lizard, but it seemed necessary. Ed heard a crunching sound from the side and turned his head slightly to see Glowyn taking notes. Thinking he had good habits, he said to Edgar Urum.
“Then, beyond the sandstorm must be more important.”
“That’s also important, but I heard that you get attacked the most when you pass through. Narrowed vision, blowing wind, and when it’s hard to control your body with a cloak, what if a monster attacks you? That’s why you need goggles.”
It seems that he added words to sell even one more item, but he was planning to buy three things: a hat, goggles, and a cape.
“And I heard that there is a paradise for monsters beyond that. Beyond the barren land where grass is difficult to grow, and the windy area at the end of the sand dunes that change every hour, there are monsters that have adapted to the harsh ecosystem. So the hunter guilds When the winter comes to cool off Sand, we’ll organize an expedition to head there.”
“I don’t think there are few customers who come to buy something like that?”
Ed stopped by the mill a few times, but he didn’t see any other customers in the nearby mill.
“The Hunter Guild, of course, prepared it in advance. The original guild had some equipment, so we only need to leave it for repairs. If the number of people who can participate in the expedition increases, we only have to buy what we need.”
“Looks like you’re already ready.”
“Yes. That’s how the Hunter Guild prepares before winter comes. When the weather cools down a bit, you have the stamina to move beyond the sandstorm. Take turns hunting the swarming monsters and taking breaks… I say it’s a forced march that even veteran hunters can’t stand. Because I know.”
Hearing Urum’s story, Ed pondered a bit, then put his hand into his pocket and took out a necromancer license. There are three skeletons and three skeleton desert lizards inside, so it’s a mess, but enough for two people to last for a few days. In addition, he moves faster than other people, so he could starve for a day and get out.
“I have nothing else to buy except for the goggles, hat and cape I originally intended to buy.”
“We’ll have to go over the sandstorm and survive for a few days. Don’t we need a thermal water bottle or something like that?”
“Necromancers aren’t the only ones who can put summoned creatures into subspaces.”
“Ah. You had that method. I think sub-space is really good.”
“Yes. It’s really convenient.”
Ed really wanted to expand the sub-space, saying it was more regrettable that he didn’t properly use the license of a limited-class necromancer in the north. And for that, I had to subdue the Desert King Lizard and see if I could utilize the material. Ed brought two people’s worth of equipment to the checkout counter, paid, put it in the subspace, and came out.
“Mr. Arebijou, today we will secure only food and drinking water, and we will depart tomorrow.”
“Um. Would it be all right with the two of us?”
“Because we can gather more soldiers there to fight for us.”
The stronger the battlefield, the more death comes and goes, and the necromancer was the easiest to create variables.

A strong sandstorm blew in front of the two people wearing hats, goggles, and capes. The fluttering sand disrupted my vision, and the sound of sand grains hitting my hat and goggles disrupted my hearing, but if I break through quickly, there won’t be any major problems.
“Mr. Arebiju, let’s go in. We said it would take four hours to walk slowly, so we should be able to get out in an hour.”
The skeleton desert lizard carrying the two people began running into the sandstorm.
