The Mad Prosecutor Picked Up AI - Chapter 5

Apocalypse Underwater Episode 5
Episode 5
The monster fish had difficulty extending its long arms all the way back, either due to its lack of flexibility or its skeletal structure.
The arms were twisted and tangled in strange ways.
I took advantage of the gap and fell back.
When his arms couldn’t reach him, he started to struggle and tried to turn his back.
no!
I didn’t give the guy a chance.
He stabbed my calves and knees repeatedly with a sharp, cut mop stick.
The monster fish’s skin was quite tough and rough.
Even though I stabbed with all my might, it didn’t cause much of a wound.
Still, as if it felt pain, the monster fish let out a roar that sounded like a groan.
“Kaaaah! Kaaaak!”
The guy turned around and swung his arms.
But I had already stepped back after hearing the roar.
The guy struggled to get up somehow.
But I didn’t give him a chance, I rushed at him and pushed him, stabbing his back and legs with the spear so he couldn’t get up.
Sometimes he would kick my butt with his foot.
Eventually the guy had to lie down on the floor again.
The monster fish tried to get up a few more times, but was thwarted each time by my interference.
“Kaaaak!!”
The angry guy opened his mouth and roared.
The gap between the head and the torso widened significantly.
Oh! Here comes the opportunity!
I quickly thrust the mop spear into the gap between the monster fish’s head and body.
“Karang, kaak!”
This time, it must have worked, because the guy screamed 100% pure instead of roaring.
But contrary to my expectations, the guy didn’t die in one hit.
Instead, he waved his hands behind his back like he was mad and angry.
Because of that wind, I almost got caught by the sharp nails.
I stepped back hurriedly.
Didn’t you get to the vital spot?
Or is the vital spot not there?
If you look at the fish you catch while fishing, they have an organ like a heart on this side.
What should I do?
Judging from the screaming, it certainly seemed to be effective.
If that’s the case, then I’ll die soon!
I continued to stab the mop spear through the gaps, hitting and running.
“Kaaaak! Kaaaak!”
The monster fish screamed and howled, and waved its hands desperately.
I almost got caught several times by the sharp nails, and even had my right shoulder grazed.
My clothes were torn and bleeding, but I didn’t have time to pay attention to the wound.
As time went by, the boy’s movements seemed to become slower, but he seemed to be learning how to turn his body.
His body twisted as he stretched out his arms, sharp claws grazing the top of his head.
If this continues, I’m really going to get hurt.
Cold sweat ran down his forehead.
The rope was a success, but did I really get the attack direction wrong?
Wouldn’t it be better to aim for the brain by stabbing the eye rather than between the head and the torso?
No. If I had done that, my arm would have been torn off by those hideous hands before I could even poke my eye.
At that moment, I felt something burst at the tip of the spear.
“Ugh!”
The monster fish let out a final scream, then stopped moving for a moment.
Oh! Is this really a success?
The monster fish’s body was seen sagging.
You finally burst your heart.
I lifted the window and cheered, but it was quite precarious.
If I had just waited a little longer, I would have collapsed from exhaustion before I could kill the monster fish guy.
I was nervous and mentally shocked, and I had to run around on an empty stomach since morning, and I even fought a monster fish and lost a lot of blood.
I collapsed to the floor, gasping for breath.
It all still seemed like a dream, but the stench of the monster fish lying next to me was real.
The monster fish was dead, but it couldn’t rest for long.
Not only was the stench unbearable, but you never knew when a new monster fish would appear.
The murals in the Ark Cathedral depict countless monsters.
Among them, there were some that were so scary that just looking at them made your hair stand on end, some unidentified guys that made you wonder what they are, and some giant monsters that were almost the size of a building.
“iced coffee!”
I got up from my seat, groaning as if I had muscle pain.
It was a game of life and death that I had not played in a long time.
These days, I’ve been so busy with paperwork that I’ve barely been able to go out to work, so I’ve been feeling a bit antsy.
Maybe that’s why I felt refreshed, as if I had caught every single one of them without missing a single one, and felt exhilarated, like when I caught a fish with a fishing rod.
Am I an apocalyptic person?
I used to dream of being a fishing village nature person when I was busy with criminal activities, although it wasn’t quite the apocalypse that was underwater.
The current situation is very different from what I had imagined, but it is still catching fish, and it is both dangerous and thrilling, like risking your life to catch a criminal.
I stabbed the monster fish with the rag pole spear.
In the apocalypse, securing food was of the utmost importance.
Somehow, now that I’ve caught it, I feel like I should make sashimi out of the monster fish.
But then suddenly, a disaster movie about cannibalism for survival popped into my head.
I glanced at the monster fish.
Although it had limbs and a human form, its pale, pale arms and legs looked more like those of a goblin-like monster.
I didn’t feel any feelings of cannibalism.
However, the smell didn’t really appeal to me.
Anyway, eventually we’ll have to eat the monster fish somehow.
And even if it could be eaten raw, I thought I would need to find a way to preserve it for a long time.
Judging by its size, it’s probably got quite a bit of flesh in it, so eating it and throwing it away would be a huge waste in the apocalypse.
I got up from my seat and grabbed the mop pole and rope.
Building 101 was still burning, with black smoke billowing out.
It didn’t seem like it would stop until it got to the top floor.
Maybe it’s because it’s an old apartment, but the sprinklers don’t work.
Like a sprinkler that didn’t work, the windows in Building 101 wouldn’t open.
No one was seen calling for help or jumping into the water like Building 105.
If I jump out, it’s obvious that a monster fish will come out of the water and eat me.
And even if I asked for help anyway, there was no one in the complex who would help.
It was the same for me.
I wanted to help, but it was a critical situation where even my survival was not guaranteed.
And it was impossible to move to another building, whether it was Building 105 or anywhere else.
The distance between the two is only 30 to 50 meters at most, but in the water that fills the gap, there are monsters like piranhas that can disintegrate humans.
I thought it would be better to save the survivors of our group first.
And we need to obtain food, medicine, and weapons.
Thirsty, hungry, and perhaps because of the adrenaline rush, my arms and shoulders where I had been cut by the monster fish’s claws were throbbing.
I walked down the stairs carefully and cautiously.
The rope and booby trap on the emergency exit on the roof were not released.
If the monster fish appeared again, I planned to jump up to the rooftop and catch it like I did before.
The front door downstairs was a little dented, but it was open.
I waited for a moment, but there was no sound inside.
I grabbed the mop and carefully went inside.
Thanks to the rain stopping and the sun coming out, it wasn’t dark inside.
Just in case, I tried turning on the light switch, but again, the electricity wasn’t coming on.
The living room was a mess, as expected.
Broken appliances and furniture.
The walls were also peeling off the wallpaper here and there and were splattered with blood.
There were signs of resistance, but no survivors were found anywhere.
Instead, water was rising in the kitchen and living room.
What the heck? Is that the ice melting from the broken refrigerator?
There was too much water for that to be the case.
As I examined the broken sink, I saw water gushing out like a fountain from a broken pipe under the broken faucet.
I was trying to find the valve in the pipe and turn it off when I suddenly realized that I was in big trouble.
The world is underwater, but that vast ocean cannot possibly be fresh water.
If that’s the case, it means that the same situation as when water runs out from a ship that is lost at sea can occur.
And the water that is gushing out like that right now is no different from water gushing out from a hole in a ship’s water tank.
I hurriedly ran up to the rooftop.
Luckily, our apartment had a water tank installed on the roof.
I ran to the water tank installed in the corner of the rooftop.
Several pipes were visible attached to the water tank.
I closed the valve on the pipe marked blue without hesitation.
After handling two or three cases of bodies found in water tanks, I was able to distinguish between the water level valve and the water supply and fire extinguishing pipes.
I climbed up the ladder installed in the water tank.
I opened the lid and looked inside, and there was a lot of water drained.
Probably many houses other than the one below had their plumbing cut by the monster fish attack.
Still, there was about a quarter of the water tank left.
I don’t know how many liters it is, but the water tank is big, so I don’t think there will be a problem with drinking water for a while, but in the long term, we will have to secure water somehow.
I raised my head and looked up at the sky.
The sky was clear without a single cloud, as if it had never rained.
Black smoke rose from Building 101 into the sky like a beacon.
But there was no sound of a fire helicopter or siren.
I went back downstairs.
The water pipe was properly shut off, and water was no longer gushing out from the kitchen.
Instead, water droplets dripped from the freezer of the refrigerator whose door had fallen off onto the floor, which had become a sea of water.
I looked into the freezer and briefly debated whether I should grab some half-thawed frozen food.
I thought it would be okay if I froze it again, but if I leave it at room temperature like this, it will spoil quickly.
If you thaw frozen food at room temperature, bacteria will multiply, and in an apocalypse where medicine is hard to come by, you could die from something as simple as enteritis.
So, should I give up on frozen foods?
This is a waste.
People probably couldn’t have imagined something like a waterlogged apocalypse, so they probably didn’t keep emergency food supplies or long-term storage supplies at home.
In such a situation, frozen food is food that can last a long time.
Wouldn’t anything be possible if we just had electricity?
But that would be impossible in a world submerged in water.
No! Wait, there is a way.
I remembered something I had seen on my way home from work.
