33 – Did you know that the blue flames in Episode 33 are even hotter?
Raelle slowly approached the fallen Wolfgang.
In truth, whoever won this fight was of little concern to her.
“How did I get tangled in this situation…”
Now, in hindsight, regretting the theft she’d committed due to her moral lapse.
Still, all she needed was to save her life and slip away unnoticed amidst the current chaos.
However, as Haganess drew the blade lodged in his hand, he stumbled forward, twisting his ankle.
Struggling against the excruciating pain, she couldn’t move a muscle.
She could use her ability to teleport a short distance, but having already used it once and not fully recovered, another attempt might result in collapsing even if she managed to escape outside somehow.
So, Raelle decided to bet her life on Wolfgang.
Wolfgang and Haganess.
She had two choices.
Neither of them was particularly favorable in her eyes, but if she had to choose one, Wolfgang seemed slightly more promising.
The things the saint had spoken to Wolfgang were too shocking, and considering various circumstances, even if she aided Wolfgang and incapacitated Haganess, the response might be far from rewarding. It was clear that accusing her of interfering with “our Wolfgang…” would be the likely reaction.
Therefore, she thought it was a rational decision to assist Wolfgang, who seemed relatively sane.
“I’d rather not spend my life in prison in this miserable city.”
Dragging her injured leg, barely managing to crawl, she started exerting strength into her legs, trying to leap just enough to reach Wolfgang.
At the moment Haganess attempted to strike Wolfgang with the sword made of light, Raelle, using every ounce of her remaining strength, leaped and grabbed hold of Wolfgang’s clothing.
Despite the intense pain, she focused on picturing the exterior of the mansion and used her ability to move.
As she vanished alongside Wolfgang, the form of a blue-hued horse smashing through the balcony appeared.
“W-What is that?”
That sight was the last thing Raelle saw before her consciousness faded.

Just as Ghosts lunged to attack Haganess, a sudden sight of a lush green meadow appeared before their eyes.
Instead of the musty dust from the mansion, refreshing air wafted around them.
Originally, the plan was to team up with the Ghosts that appeared and subdue Haganess.
However, the abrupt teleportation outside at that moment was inexplicable.
– Kwaang
At the sound of an explosion, turning back, they witnessed a loud blast and azure flames erupting from the mansion they were in just moments ago.
“W-What…?”
Caught off guard by the sudden turn of events, Wolfgang noticed Raelle clutching onto his clothing, lying unconscious beside him.
“Thief?”
Wolfgang touched his own neck.
The damn lock and knife of that bastard were still there, attached to the iron chain.
“It’s still hanging on my neck. Does that mean I didn’t use teleportation?”
Perplexed, Wolfgang looked again at the fallen Raely.
“No way.”
Wolfgang approached her, shaking her body to wake her up.
“Hey! Snap out of it.”
But she showed no response, like a corpse.
Wolfgang, with a hint of suspicion, placed his finger on her nostrils.
A lukewarm breath touched his finger.
“She’s not dead. Wake up quickly.”
After confirming Raely’s state, Wolfgang shook her body more forcefully.
There was still no response, as if she hadn’t faked unconsciousness.
Then he noticed a pouch at her waist.
“Meanwhile, she managed to grab this again.”
Wolfgang casually took the pouch, fastening it to his own waist.
-Clang Clang
With a loud noise, the entire mansion began to be engulfed in blue flames.
Judging by the color, it was undoubtedly Ghost’s work.
It seemed like something significant had happened.
“Get a grip on yourself.”
Wolfgang picked up a fist-sized rock from the ground and smashed the lock around his neck.
-Crunch
Looking at the broken lock more easily than expected, Wolfgang laughed sarcastically.
“Haha. Damn.”
He unclasped the iron chain with the attached tag that had been around his neck and swung it lightly.
The chilly and solid sensation seemed to suit his hand well.
“You’ll get up on your own.”
Muttering as he looked at the back of the fallen Raely, Wolfgang moved towards the burning mansion.
The inside of the abandoned house, which Ghost had coolly opened the balcony of, was engulfed in a blaze of blue flames.
The sounds of Haganess and Ghost’s fight were not audible; only the crackling of firewood burning in the flames echoed tic-tic in the silence.
“I can’t see anything.”
Breaking through the crimson flames, Wolfgang went deep into the interior of the abandoned house.
Scattered traces everywhere vividly showed how intense the battle between Ghost and Haganess had been, and how dilapidated the house had become.
Not letting his guard down, Wolfgang searched the interior, and in the midst of the collapsed debris, he saw a pile of rubble burning.
It looked like a large bonfire.
-Tururu
From within that bonfire, the familiar sound of purring reached him.
“Ghost!”
It seemed like Ghost was somehow under these ruins.
Victim to Haganess.
“Just wait a bit!”
Wolfgang looked around, trying to find where Haganess might be hiding.
But despite searching every nook and cranny, there was not a trace of her.
“Did she escape?”
It made no sense that just moments ago, Haganess, who had been obsessively fixated on herself, would abandon her goal and retreat because of a phantom.
“Well… can’t see her for now.”
Feeling a tremendous frustration, Wolfgang decided to first rescue Ghost from the debris.
After clearing away the burning rubble, the charred remains of Ghost’s body, stained with gold, were revealed.
The blue flames emanating from his body were also considerably weakened.
“Sorry. I should have come in quickly.”
A resurrected demon through necromancy is vulnerable to holy attacks.
As a former paladin, Haganess would undoubtedly know this, so it wasn’t unreasonable for Ghost to have suffered greatly.
Wolfgang gently lifted Ghost and, breaking through the wall, exited outside.
The refreshing outside air cooled the intense heat emanating from his entire body.
Taking a deep breath and turning to leave, he noticed the blonde thief still lying on the ground in the same position.
After a moment of contemplation, Wolfgang nodded as if he had made a decision.
Leaving her as she was, he exited the place.
“…What kind of mess did I walk into while buying groceries.”
Wolfang’s shoulders tensed as the ghost hovered, a low growl almost in agreement.
***
Something struck from behind.
A weighty force and searing heat—a spectral horse emitting blue flames—came into view.
Driven by a primal urge to eliminate the horrific result of dark enchantments, Haganess swung her sword, contemplating its destruction.
A blade forged of light.
Its sanctity made it a potent weapon against the demonic specter.
The ghost’s ribcage contorted as the blade swept past.
Seizing the weakened moment, Haganess lunged, aiming for the torso, sending it sprawling.
Despite inflicting substantial damage, the spell remained unbroken. Observing the spectral horse preparing its next attack, its empty eyes flickering with blue flames, Haganess inwardly marveled.
“This is no ordinary enchantment… This is the work of a sorcerer, at least as skilled as Dominic.”
While facing off against the ghostly creature, Haganess subtly glanced to confirm Wolfang’s whereabouts.
True to form, he had vanished, strategically retreating at this critical moment.

“I can’t afford surprises. I’ll find him before unlocking the lock.”
With that, Haganess disregarded the spectral horse, pivoting in the opposite direction to locate Wolfang.
In that instant, blue flames seared into her being.
It felt like her flesh was being consumed by intense heat.
“You vile creature!”
Gathering light into her fist, Haganess hurled it towards the spectral horse.
Then, an immense explosion erupted.
Thrown by its force, Haganess collided with the decrepit wall of the dilapidated building.
Splintered wood and swirling dust rained down upon her.
Struggling to rise, she stared at the site of the explosion.
Obscured by thick dust, the figure of the spectral horse remained unseen.
“Did I vanquish it?”
Before the words could fully leave her lips, the ghostly apparition charged through the dust, closing in.
With terrifying momentum, it tore into Haganess’s arm, savagely gnawing and pressing fiercely, crushing her armguard and drawing forth crimson streams.
“This monstrosity…!”
“I can’t delay… If Wolfang joins forces at this very moment, we won’t hold out.”
Haganess, who had made a decision, pulled out a golden sphere from her bosom.
[Sacred Bomb]
The Ghost’s eye sockets widened at the sight of the sphere.
“Die.”
The golden sphere thrown by Haganess passed over the Ghost’s head and landed toward its tail.
An enormous explosion occurred at a level incomparable to the one just before, accompanied by a tremendous flash.
As a result of the shockwave, flames from the Ghost began to leap and catch onto the abandoned house.
Within moments, the fire spread, engulfing everything.
Haganess, too, suffered significant injuries from the explosion nearby and the Ghost’s flames, her mind becoming hazy.
“This is the worst. I need to get out for now…”
Trying to escape the collapsing burning house, Haganess attempted to move her broken body, but she soon lost consciousness and collapsed right there.
