Amidst the pouring giant ravens.
Havel’s feet moved.
His agility was now the speed of light.
No matter how fast the ravens were, they couldn’t catch up to Havel.
Thanks to that, Havel leisurely dodged the pouring ravens’ saturation.
‘I should look for other floating islands.’
Havel soared into the air with a light leap.
Then the ravens immediately glared at Havel, who had lost his cover.
“Caw!”
They attacked with their beaks and claws like shooting stars, but Havel was relaxed.
Rather, he stepped on their heads and torsos, making it easier for him to move.
As a result, he was able to reach other floating islands.
“Oh my, how noisy.”
As Havel went to the floating island, the ravens circled above the sky.
The floating island was like their nest.
That was why they didn’t like Havel, who was messing with their nest.
‘But the problem is how to get up the floors.’
Havel was lost in thought as he wandered around the floating islands.
There has never been anyone who had climbed to the 7th stage until now.
As such, it was as if he had absolutely no information at hand.
He would have to find everything out from scratch.
Both the methods to clear the floor and the guide to move onto the next floor.
Havel had to pave and move forward all on his own.
“Hmm.”
Havel stopped walking and crossed his arms.
Just as the 6th stage was so absurdly vast as to be called the Thousand Islands.
The 7th stage also seemed to be of considerable size.
‘It’s even possible that there’s real ground beneath the floating islands.’
Going down was easy, but coming back up would be a bit bothersome.
‘There’s no way to get out once the gates are closed, and since I’m alone, I’ll have to pave my own way.’
Thinking carefully, did he really need to take the initiative to explore the 7th stage?
“In the Tower, isn’t the most important thing to be the first to advance to the next stage?”
The reality was that climbing up one floor at a time didn’t have that much of an advantage.
As soon as that thought occurred to him, he realized that he had been wrong.
‘Well, this is a bit crooked.’
Of course, he intended to defeat the Lord of the Final Stage of the Tower.
However, the thought came to him that he didn’t necessarily need to do things like scouting and searching himself.
Havel scratched the back of his head once.
Come to think of it, could he make Banpellion known without anyone seeing him?
The world didn’t even know that he had cleared the Gates of Madness.
“I was shortsighted.”
Havel turned around.
He had come up with a way to climb the Tower more easily and announce his presence with certainty.
The method was simple.
Just when the others had more or less climbed and cleared the Tower.
He would just snatch that clearing information and climb up like a shooting star, and that would be that.
A wicked smile spread across Havel’s lips.
“Now I don’t have to suffer alone. What was I trying to suffer for?”
The spark to climb the Tower had already been definitely sown.
In that case, it was time to use the spark that he had ignited.
Since then, the vast majority of people would definitely climb the Tower.
He just had to wait leisurely like a lion stalking its prey.
Didn’t he climb the Tower like that until now?
Who would dare say that he wasn’t the former Lord?
He was the one with the quick wit to turn things to his advantage.
“Then.”
Without hesitation, Havel descended the Tower.
“I guess I’ll wait a bit.”
While everyone was following Habel up the tower,
Habel himself came down the tower, creating a strange situation.
The climbers leading the charge up the tower had no idea.
Only Habel could have thought of doing something like this.
Habel thought to himself that at least Dante wasn’t around to be inflexible this time.
So Habel came outside and headed straight for Babel.
The sunset sky was getting dark.
He could see shops bustling about, preparing for dinner.
They seemed so peaceful.
Of course, they would be.
The top climbers were all competing to get to the 7th stage.
News of the 6th stage hadn’t reached the lower levels yet.
By tomorrow, the news would spread like wildfire and all hell would break loose.
Habel, the one who had caused all this, calmly searched for an inn.
He was really planning on waiting until the climbers gathered information about the 7th stage.
‘First, I need to sell what I need to sell and get it to Arthur.’
Once Arthur got this news, many people would come looking for Van Pell.
So Arthur needed to show that he had the financial resources before that happened.
‘Also, it seems like Beltella is growing well.’
Habel looked at the top of Beltella, which had recently risen in power, and was satisfied.
He had a good eye for talent.
Creak-.
That was when he opened the door to the inn.
“Damn it, I had to climb the tower because of those damn bastards.”
As soon as he opened the door, he heard a commotion and cursing from inside.
Habel turned his head and saw a man there.
He had sharp, jet-black hair that reached his waist and fierce eyes.
He had a tiger tattoo and dark skin.
He looked like a savage.
He was greedily shoveling fried rice into his mouth.
It seemed like he had already finished a few bowls.
There were bowls piled up next to him.
“Boss! When’s the next dish coming!”
“Yes, yes, I’ll bring it right out.”
The boss brought out the food with a helpless expression.
Habel watched him for a moment and then sat down at a table.
A young waiter came over to Habel.
“Would you like to order now?”
“Before I order, I’d like a room. I’ll be staying for over a month.”
“Room 203 is empty, so you can use it. The room fee will be settled every month, 1 gold.”
Havel handed the gold to the clerk.
While the clerk received the gold and brought the key,
Havel selected some food.
It was vegetable soup and a grilled chicken dish.
‘Since things turned out this way, I might as well gather information about the owner of the inn for the time being.’
It would take at least three months for the 7th rankers to conquer the tower.
Havel recalled that fact and pondered ways to gather information here and there.
Then, a decent idea suddenly came to him.
Come to think of it, there are other dungeons besides the tower.
How about visiting such dungeons for three months?
‘That’s not bad.’
Havel had never entered a dungeon other than the Three Great Dungeons of the Beginning.
He might gain something naturally if he visited the general dungeons.
Havel, who had decided so, raised his head.
Just in time, the owner appeared, carrying vegetable soup and grilled chicken.
It was time to eat.
“Hey, where are you taking that?”
“Gu, guest?”
That was the moment.
The savage man from earlier suddenly raised his hand and blocked the owner’s way.
Then, he took the vegetable soup and grilled chicken without hesitation.
“Bring me what I ordered too.”
“Guest, this isn’t your food.”
“Be quiet. If you have a complaint, come and argue.”
“I’m here.”
It was when the savage man was shouting at the owner.
He raised his head, following the voice he heard from behind.
Havel was standing there, his face about to frown.
Kwaang!
As his face distorted, the chair shattered, and the savage man was embedded in the floor.
His head pierced the floor and he was standing upright, buried all the way to the ground below.
Havel dusted his hands, watching the sight.
“Why are you messing with others’ food when you have your own?”
Havel snatched his overturned money pouch.
Then he threw the money pouch at the owner, who had a blank expression.
“Owner, this is for this guy’s meal and the cost of fixing the floor.”
“Oh, yeah, yes.”
As the owner replied in a daze, Havel pulled him out.
Then, he dragged him, whose eyes rolled back, and threw him outside roughly.
Passersby were taken aback at the sight of the barbarian suddenly rolling on the floor, but they soon passed by as if they were used to it, thinking it was just a fight in a store.
Havel brought his bowl after looking around the now-quiet first floor of the inn and sat down with his utensils. It was time to eat.
* * *
The barbarian who had been stuck on the floor was thrown outside the inn and came to his senses five hours later.
From noble mtl dot com
“Ughhh!”
He sprung up with a scream and opened his eyes wide. He then trembled at the intense pain coming from his head.
“Damn, what the hell?”
“Are you awake?”
Did he let out a groan while holding his head? He quickly raised his head after hearing a familiar voice. There was a tall woman wearing a wide-brimmed hat and revealing clothes.
She sat with her butt on a staff floating in the air and had shiny blue hair.
“You’re sleeping on the floor like a barbarian. What are you doing?”
“…I was sleeping?”
Baruthu muttered blankly at the woman’s words. He looked around and saw that this seemed to be an inn room. The outside window was now covered in the night sky as the sun had set.
“Yeah, you were sleeping sprawled out on the floor.”
The woman said while twirling her blue bangs with her hand. Baruthu felt a throbbing pain in his head after hearing her words. This was strange. His memory seemed to have been cut off at some point. He clearly remembered eating in the inn, but his memory was completely blank after that.
‘I think I saw something pure white.’
Did he see a ghost while he was sleeping?
“We’re leaving late because of you. Why did you sleep so deeply that you didn’t wake up even when I tried to wake you?”
“Jeez, people need to sleep. What the hell?”
Baruthu frowned while grumbling. Fortunately, he clearly remembered his purpose for coming to Babel. Bloody hell. It was because those bastards broke the rules and climbed the tower.
“Take this.”
At that moment, she threw him a black wand. The barbarian’s expression changed as soon as he received the wand.
His body began to emit an ominous aura.
“Whew, you’re finally starting to look human.”
As if his sealed power was released, his eyes shone sharply.
“You look human, you monkey.”
“Don’t talk before I tear your mouth apart.”
The woman let out a cackling laughter.
The savage reduced the staff to the size of his palm.
“So, did you find out anything about that Havel guy?”
At Barutuga’s question, the woman raised her hand.
A piece of paper was placed in her hand.
“Nothing much. All I know is that he’s a mercenary from Van Pelion and that he’s recently made a name for himself by climbing the tower. There’s not much information, though.”
“That’s usually the case with guys who pop out of nowhere.”
“That’s why I’ve been thinking. Isn’t it possible that he’s a pawn created by the Five Great Families?”
She said as she showed him the paper.
“It’s strange how he’s been involved with the direct descendants of the Five Great Families so much.”
“Hah, those damn bastards are still greedy for the tower.”
He frowned with a displeased expression.
“Let’s go right now.”
“Are you going to go alone just because you’re all rested up?”
“You don’t need to sleep anyway. How long has it been since you last slept?”
“About three months.”
She responded as if she was used to not sleeping.
Then, she stopped erasing the paper in her hand and said,
“Oh, and by the way, Lord Foldron said something strange.”
“That senile old man?”
The savage looked back at her with a hardened expression.
“When he heard the name Havel, he mumbled something about a swordsman.”
“Swordsman? You mean the head of the Gleysis Family? He’s probably just losing his mind again. He’s always been a bit off.”
“That’s true.”
“So, are you saying the senile old man is actually right?”
“I don’t know. If we can’t handle it, the Martial King will eventually send someone.”
She tapped the window with her staff with salt.
Watching her, the savage stepped on the windowsill and opened his mouth.
“Our goal is to kill that Havel guy, renegotiate with the Five Great Families, and…”
“Make sure we are known well enough to never climb the tower again.”
A menacing smile appeared on the savage’s mouth as he confirmed it again.
“It’s Memento Mori time.”
The grim reapers of the underworld began to climb the tower.
However, they did not know.
That Havel was sleeping comfortably in his bed in the next room.
Thus, the barbarian walked toward the tower, unknowing of the origin of the protuberance on his forehead.
