The Villainess Whom I Had Served for 13 Years Has Fallen - Chapter 7
7 – Take Responsibility -2-
“Who is she?”
With groggy eyes, Olivia looked at the woman in front of her. She had a delicate appearance and light brown hair. A question mark formed in Olivia’s mind.
I sat Olivia down on the bed, still half asleep, and said, “She’s from the Academy.”
“The Academy?”
A moment of buffering.
Olivia woke up by slapping her cheek.
“Ah… the Academy?”
“Yes. You came from the Royal Academy.”
“Why did you come to our house?”
“They said they were bored.”
Hanna looked at me with a distant expression. I turned my head coldly.
The student council secretary came to the ex-student’s house out of boredom. Somehow, I feel sorry, but what can I do? If I say that I came because the landlord has no duties and the butler has duties, the young lady would be annoyed.
“Is the butler more popular than me? What kind of landlord is this?” I muttered and rolled my eyes.
While Hanna, who woke me up from my nap, took care of the situation, I passed the responsibility on to her.
During the time my gaze wandered.
Olivia’s voice could be heard.
“They let me go back to school?”
“No. Do you want to go back to school?”
“Huh…what? No?”
The young lady’s true feelings spilled out.
I gave an awkward smile.
The young lady looked up at me again and spoke.
“So, did you come to retaliate against me?”
“No…I mean, didn’t I?”
Ah, I didn’t consider the opinion of the person involved, so I looked at Hanna and asked.
“Did you come to retaliate?”
“Ah…no?”
“That’s right.”
The young lady nodded her head.
Now it seems she’s waking up a bit.
“Ah…!”
Realizing that it would do her no good to beat around the bush, Olivia showed a strong reaction belatedly.
Olivia’s eyes widened.
“The Academy! Ohhhhh!!”
I smiled satisfied with Olivia’s enthusiastic response. I expected Olivia to show an active reaction.
Mikhail – my choice, accurately grasping the algorithm forming within Olivia’s mind, the Academy.
What do you think, Olivia? Isn’t this the kind of housekeeper deserving a filial piety letter? Repay me once you succeed.
Even I think I’m a professional housekeeper.
Olivia, sitting on the bed, looked up at me, urging me to introduce Hannah as if she had received an interesting toy. It was adorable.
“Ahem. This person is, indeed, from the Academy!”
“The Academy!”
“And she’s the secretary!”
“Secretary! History manipulation! Ooh!”
-Clap! Olivia clapped her hands.
If she gave me that kind of reaction, I’d be willing to cook steak twice a week, but Olivia, who only showed a lukewarm response, irritated me. However, it was nice to see her lively and laughing for the first time in a while.
Olivia’s eyes had been awake for a while.
The tension in the room seemed to have mostly dissipated, and she was now staring awkwardly at Hannah, who was standing there with a disheveled appearance. In her disheveled eyes, she seemed to be urging Hannah to speak to her quickly. I prepared for the time they would get to know each other.
“This is the lady I serve, Lady Olivia Desmont, the youngest daughter of the Desmont family.”
“Ah… Hello.”
Hannah looked at Olivia with trepidation.
The woman sitting on the bed.
A former Academy student known as a villain.
With messy white hair.
In her pajamas.
She didn’t look well.
She had heard numerous rumors from her seniors.
All those rumors were bad.
She spilled wine on dresses.
Bullied others.
Used black magic.
She didn’t seem welcoming.
I didn’t want to get close to her.
Rather, I wanted to say something.
But I couldn’t say a word because I was terrified of the redhead housekeeper next to me.
“Scared…”
However, she had no intention of being kind to Olivia.
No matter how scary the maid was, this woman had tormented Senior Mikhail. Her pride would not allow it.
“I will never forgive her!”
“Hannah, miss.”
“Huh!?”
I called Hannah, who had put on a serious expression. It seemed like she had made some kind of determination, and when I called her, her distorted expression was a work of art.
“I know it might be a little awkward, but I would like to ask a favor. Can you please be friends with the lady? She hasn’t had the chance to meet people for a long time… Can I ask you that?”
“Yes… Of course.”
Hannah must feel uneasy about this situation.
What happened with Luin earlier and now facing the infamous villain in person.
I would have felt the same way.
She’s a famous villain in the village, and it’s probably worse at school, especially considering her strong connection to Mikhail.
In her eyes, we must look unsympathetic.
However, I called Hannah because I hoped the villainess could have a conversation with someone new for a change.
Every day with maids and butlers.
Talking only to the same people every day, how painful must that be? I called her into this room in the hope of soothing her heart a little.
I thought too much.
From Noble mtl dot com
I sincerely asked her.
Whether my sincere request got through to her or not, Hannah spoke with a calmer voice than before.
“I am the youngest of the Histania Viscount’s family. I’m Hannah Histania. Please feel free to call me Hannah.”
Fortunately, she didn’t say anything harsh.
I was worried about what to do if she cursed or something, but fortunately, no harsh words came out of her mouth.
The villainess frowned at Hannah’s introduction. It seemed like a name that would go into her aristocratic encyclopedia in her mind.
“Histania?”
It seems like quite a famous noble family.
‘In that case, she must be from a different family.’
When the lady stores another family in her mind, she stores it as a keyword.
For example,
-The playboy’s host family.
-A family with three mothers.
-A family ruined by gambling.
This is how it’s stored in my head.
Just storing it would be fortunate.
The young lady says it out loud, without filtering.
I focused on the young lady’s words with concern, and her mouth produced destructive words as a response to my concern.
“Ah. A family with nothing in their heads but swords?”
I wanted to applaud Olivia’s speech. The mistress’s eloquence, as always, remained innocently wicked.
There is no such thing as not being able to say on first acquaintance.
The young lady isn’t bad. She’s just a little more honest than others.
Sometimes her hands move faster than her words, but there are also people whose magic comes out faster than their hands, so I think she’s a noble in that sense.
Or not.
I wonder if she knows about my concerns or not.
The mistress continued to mutter to herself.
“You’re the youngest and the daughter of the captain of the knights. Do you also have nothing in your head but swords?”
Olivia’s wicked eloquence made Hanna’s face turn red.
“I apologize, my lady.”
“Oh, I’m sorry. I must be too excited after seeing a person for the first time in a while.”
Nevertheless, she is a woman who knows how to admit her mistakes. Hanna wanted to clear up the misunderstanding for Olivia, whom she regarded as an evil woman in the world.
Surely, if they had more conversations, it would be fine. She was about to say that, but Hanna was already broken.
“Ah… that’s true.”
Hanna was bewildered.
From the butler beating Ruin to being in the same room as the mistress.
From one to ten, Hanna is experiencing new things today.
Especially.
“Ah, a family known only for their swords in the brain?”
In response to the words that came swiftly without a blink, Hanna couldn’t hide her confusion.
The Histania family.
A lineage that had honed and polished the swordsmanship passed down from their ancestors, gaining recognition as a noble family through their contributions in wars.
In other words, they were a family that had achieved everything through swordsmanship, where the sword was the essence of their identity.
The villain’s words were accurate.
Their family was all about the ‘sword.’
Inheriting the family through the sword.
Inheriting their wealth through the sword.
Lacking talent in swordsmanship? That was considered a greater disgrace than the family’s ancestry.
Her father was the head of the royal knights.
Her older brother was a knight in the youngest squad of the royal knights.
And her sister had been the top student in the swordsmanship department for four years now.
They were more shining figures than anyone else.
Hanna was also the top student in the swordsmanship department as a first-year, but unlike her sister and brother, who reached their positions through natural talent, she had built her way up through relentless effort.
Swinging her sword late into the night.
Putting marriage on hold, she honed and polished her swordsmanship until she secured the top position in her year.
At first, she had taken pride in her efforts.
After all, her father said that even effort was a form of talent. However, she had recently come to realize that effort couldn’t surpass natural talent.
Before enrolling in the academy, she had once accidentally witnessed her father and senior Mikhail sparring.
“Your skills have improved.”
“You’re too kind!”
“hehehe…”
Their skills were dazzling.
It was impressive that someone could make her father smile with their swordsmanship alone, and the fact that they could engage in a conversation through their swords was truly remarkable.
At the same time, she felt a barrier.
She had never tried to do something like that herself.
She wasn’t confident that she could make her father smile like that, and to be honest, maintaining her top position in her year was a struggle.
From that day on, Hanna lost interest in the sword. And a new hobby, Mikhail, was born. Hanna loved swordsmanship, but at the same time, she despised it.
It seems to be a reaction.
Because her own talents were lacking, she liked Mikhail, who had exceptional talents, and her father also had a favorable view of Mikhail…
She found herself annoyed by such thoughts.
The voice that had touched Hannah’s heart spoke once again.
“How about the academy?”
It was a very innocent question.
How is the academy?
Hannah replied indifferently.
“What does it matter now that I’ve been expelled?” she wanted to say, but she couldn’t say it because the butler was beside her.
“Just fine,” she concealed the underlying meaning in her heart: “It’s even better without you.”
“Um, I see,” Olivia nodded.
Rumors say she has a leg problem. I felt curious if it was true, but I kept sensitive questions to myself.
Olivia asked Hannah another question.
“How is Julia? Is she doing well?”
Julia, the woman she tormented the most.
Driven by jealousy, she started tormenting her, but Julia confidently overcame it and is now a remarkable senior in the field of therapy, someone Hannah admires.
Once again, Hannah replied to Olivia with a feigned tone.
“Yes, she’s doing very well.”
“Alright,” that’s when it happened.
A chilling tone entered Olivia’s voice.
“But why are you talking so unpleasantly now?”
Different from earlier, she sounded like a cold-hearted villain. It made Hannah’s heart sink for a moment.
“I’m speaking nicely, aren’t I?”
“Yes…?”
“You should also speak nicely.”
The warmth returned to Lady’s voice.
“If you don’t, I’ll have to speak ill of you too.”
Hanna felt her mood sour.
Who do you think you are to talk like this?
She was about to say something, but she couldn’t because of the strange noises she had been hearing since earlier.
“Gulp… G-gulp. S-sip!”
The noise came from the butler standing behind her.
The butler nodded with a fist in his mouth, resembling a father looking at a child who had successfully completed their first errand.
He raised his thumb quietly from behind.
“Did I do well?”
Lady smiled brightly at the sight.
‘What’s going on?’
Hanna couldn’t keep up with the two of them.
