22. Possession
In Froden’s perception, possessors are all selfish and unhelpful. The soul that once took over Tina’s body and was now sleeping, and the possessed chair in front of her right now that took Lady Mayrille’s body were all selfish people.
“I came to express my gratitude to you for inviting me to the last Mage Tower event. There were many things, but in the end, it was a great benefit to our guild, so as a merchant, we can’t pretend we didn’t know.”
“Aren’t merchants a kind of people who don’t care about other people as long as they fill their stomachs?”
Froden decided to scratch Lady Mayril’s insides. According to Tina, the possessed chair that occupied her body acted poorly as if a screw was missing somewhere. Hearing that sound, I had to test the hypotheses I came up with and first find out if being unable to hold back anger is a characteristic of a possessed chair.
“Generally, such gazes are the most common. But there is a big misunderstanding in that statement. Trust is of the utmost importance to merchants. Without trust in the top, who would buy anything from the top?”
“That is also true. But in the end, isn’t it all about pursuing reason?”
“Everyone follows their own logic no matter who they are or what they do. If you are a wise Young master, you will know it well, right?”
As if the foolishness he showed at that time was a lie, he doesn’t show his personality and responds well to words. He even seemed to be telling himself with his eyes that he should know best because he lived on Earth. Feeling that the conversation is going to be long, Froden put a smile on his lips.
“From what you’re saying, it sounds like you’re saying that you won’t even engage in business with people who don’t benefit the guild… You’re quite pragmatic. If I hadn’t benefited from the upper ranks, I wouldn’t have been able to meet like this.”
“It is too much of a leap to say that there is no business relationship. You never know how a person’s relationship will flow. It’s because someone who I had a casual relationship with in the past might become a big person and help me.”
Lady May Lil finished her words for a moment and took a sip of her coffee. She said this time she had nothing coming out of the teacup. She thought she hadn’t put on makeup, but looking at the color of her lips, it didn’t seem like that.
“Conversely, the person with whom I had a bad breakup due to a brief trouble could become a rope tightening my neck.”
“Trouble?”
“Oh, excuse me. I have a habit of making up some words. A word that refers to trouble or trouble. Normally, I don’t make mistakes, but in front of Young master, I get so nervous that my usual habits come out. Sorry.”
Seeing Lady Mayleel’s body bent over and apologizing while covering the hollow part of her breast with her hand, Froden said it was okay and raised her body.
“Oh no. And if you don’t mind, could you call me Elin? Being called Lady Mayreel made me feel very distant.”
“I think that part should be done with the permission of my fiancée.”
“You are a dear wife. I thought that if it was Gongja-nim, he would be holding onto Lady Erabasta, but it’s surprising.”
“It’s more a matter of respect for the person you love than a pathetic wife.”
A few minutes to keep the conversation in check and have no substance. I could feel Erin’s breathing getting tight. Her pulse quickened and she repeatedly pressed her thumbs with her fingernails. She also showed a lack of concentration, such as her eyes getting out of focus in the middle of a conversation sometimes, and she kept looking elsewhere. It seems that patience has finally reached its limit.
Elin, who was worried about rolling her eyes here and there, let out her breath and met Froden’s eyes as she opened her mouth.
“Young master. I’ll say it straight-forward. I know very well that it is disadvantageous to start talking openly like this, but I can’t help it.”
“What do you mean…”
First of all, Froden took a step back pretending not to know. She thought she might have thrown her bait, and what she meant to say might not be what she expected.
“If you don’t, I will offer you half of my property as I apologize from now on. Instead, if my prediction is correct and if it is something that Young master can answer, please give me an answer.”
She withheld her answer at the sudden change of mood, pretending to think for a moment as she watched her reaction. As time passed, she broke out in a cold sweat, her body odor intensified, and her hearing, strengthened by her magical powers, caught the irregular, loud and fast heartbeat. Even so, her outward expression does not change, and she is looking at herself confidently.
“Let’s listen first. It’s hard for me to guess when you suddenly say something like this.”
Elin swallowed and pumped air into her lungs. As her cheeks swelled, her breath, which had taken a deep breath, came out of her body again in a warm breath.
“I am a possessor. Looking at Young master’ behavior and various circumstances, it seems that Young master is also a possessor. Please tell me.”
“What if I told you I wasn’t the possessor?”
“It’s a property, you can earn it again. However, I don’t think I can share what I know about what’s going on.”
“I also have my own information network, so I don’t think there is a shortage of information. A trade offer that doesn’t benefit me very much.”
Is the possessed person just a young person with an impatient temper? Froden sighed inwardly as he tried to end the conversation. In the future, I will use this possessed chair to find out if there is a way to use it as a means to expel the soul from Tina’s body.
“I enjoyed the conversation today. I look forward to seeing you again like this next time.”
As she moved the teacup aside and tried to raise her body from the seat, Elin’s voice was heard again. She wasn’t a nervous, urgent voice that caught on in a hurry. At the sound of her voice full of certainty, her proden looked at her involuntarily.
“If this world continues like this, it will perish.”
What novel bullsh*t is this? I was so dumbfounded by the absurd remark that the value of the conversation disappeared.
“I don’t know what you heard from the other possessed persons inside Lady Eravasta, but all the routes in this world…keek.”
I don’t know how I found out. I was now convinced that the Ropan that the spirit possessed by Tina was muttering actually existed in that world.
Otherwise, in this world where all methods of obtaining information are limited, it is impossible to derive results from knowing and analyzing the information of Count Elabasta without going through oneself. It must be the result of knowing that it is different from what the person knew.
“You are making a very dangerous statement. Right now, you are treating my fiancé as a strange person and insulting her.”
I was easily attacked by a sudden attack, but I am confident in dealing with force. Because you are the main character of this world. I deserve it, and I have the power.
Froden looked at Elin as she spread her own fingers with both of her hands. From the moment she tried to solve it, she was giving it quite a bit of strength, but strangely, she was herself being pushed back. No matter how much she is possessed, it makes sense that she is pushed out of pure power.
She wouldn’t have been able to win by force if she used her magical powers, but strangely, Elin was trying to escape by using her pure power instead of using her magical powers.
“Aww! No, let go of this… hehehe! Stories…!”
But Froden had no intention of letting go. If he says he is pushed even if he pushes with force like this, it is obvious that he will be pushed even with pure instantaneous power. Right now, I have the upper hand by surprise, but I don’t know what will happen after I miss it.
Froden moved his magical energy and strengthened his body. He stood motionless, like a rock, as his skin hardened in an instant, as if it were becoming rigid. He could have escaped with a little more push, but it felt like all of a sudden his hope was gone.
“Do not take any action, just open your mouth and talk. If you move with a different mind even for a moment, I will grab your neck and break it.”
At the sound of her bloody voice, Ellie pulled her strength away from the body she was trying to resist. Here she boasts of her strength and that she can stand against Froden. But then she might really die.
Froden opened her fingers and grabbed Elin by the neck so that she could speak.
“How much do you know about this world?”
Elin asked Froden a question to sort out her priorities. Looking at her abruptly popping her question, her Froden frowned at her and only looked at her wordlessly. Feeling that she was uncomfortable, Elin hurriedly opened her mouth again.
“It’s because the starting point is different depending on how much you know!”
She screamed at her fear of choking her own throat again, frightening her.
“Tell me everything. She thinks she’s explaining things to someone who doesn’t know anything.”
She was reluctant to give information about what she knew. She didn’t intend to give it in the first place, but she needs to hide the information she has in her tone, as if she knows more than she thinks. Unreasonable transaction, but what can I do? This is a place like that.
“…I think I know the game and I will talk about it.”
Froden did not answer. She just keeps giving her unspoken pressure with her eyes.
“This is a world based on a game in the previous world called ‘The Ending,’ which is short for ‘How to Meet a Happy Ending in a Dying World.’”
The story that started like that didn’t even exist in the past life memory library.
