Episode 4
“Juyeol, I’ll look for it with you.”
Haon couldn’t just sit by and watch his childhood friend’s painful face.
“If you search this lab, you’ll find something.”
And if he has even a little bit of the ‘Joo-yeol’ I know, he won’t ignore my help.
Ha-on’s moist brown eyes were filled with passion.
With faith and good will.
He flinched and shook my hand away.
“You really aren’t.”
He looked at Eunha-on, who was so different from usual, with an expression that said it was ridiculous.
“Really different… … .”
Beep─ Beep─.
At that moment, a beep sounded from the band wrapped around Juyeol’s wrist. He quickly checked the band, clicked his tongue, and stood up.
“Juyeol. Are you going?”
“… … .”
He looked at Haon with eyes that were wondering what he should do about this.
“Then, can’t I give you the mana core? No, the awakening orb?”
Then, after hearing the following words, I suddenly became calm.
“… … Haa. Then that’s how you are.”
“Then I can help you more quickly.”
His eyes, looking at Haon, were filled with irritation again. He quickly turned around and left the lab.
“Huh? Joo-yeol!”
Haon ran after Juyeol and grabbed his arm.
“Don’t get stuck and get out.”
He pulled his arm out as if he was annoyed and got on the elevator. The gun was pointed at Ha-on. His eyes looked like he was going to shoot him if he got on.
Ha-on, who had been feeling anxious, quickly spoke as the elevator door closed.
“Juyeol! Be sure to come back tomorrow! I’ll search the lab! Okay? Let’s have lunch together! Bring the awakening tool!”
He had no answer.
As soon as I entered the Talletalle Lab, I could hear the sharp sound of a bike.
Haon first closed the wide-open glass window. The lab became quiet without even the sound of wind.
“… … .”
Suddenly, an indescribable sense of loss came over me. I felt a different kind of fear than when I was standing in front of a gun.
“B, blue.”
I wanted to hear even a broken voice, but there was no answer from Blue. I checked my phone and the battery was dead.
Haon existed alone in an unfamiliar dimension.
After standing still for a while, he rubbed his eyes with his sleeve and raised his head.
‘That doesn’t mean we can’t do anything. We have to move.’
The terrified eyes slowly began to shake.
‘It’s okay. I’m okay!’
Haon decided to start by looking for a place where he could wash and treat his wounds.
Upon closer inspection, the building itself was ‘Eunhaon’s’, and a magnificent penthouse was built on the top floor.
“wow.”
Haon’s eyes widened as he went up to the penthouse.
Perhaps to deter intruders, the entrance to the opera house-like house featured several mechanical arms equipped with laser guns.
Let’s look around. As expected, there are cameras and detection sensors installed everywhere.
‘Huh?’
But something was strange. The cameras were all broken and the detection sensors were off.
For a moment, an ominous atmosphere hung in the air.
I swallowed dry saliva and slowly looked outside the house, only to find that the lock on the fountain box had completely fallen off.
I opened it with trembling hands and saw that all the wires were cut.
My breathing became rapid due to the sudden surge of tension.
‘Eunhaon’ who was murdered by someone, and the intrusion prevention system that was broken by someone. And myself who has the same name and face as ‘Eunhaon’.
I felt like the hairs on my whole body stood on end.
‘… …Why did ‘Eunhaon’ die?’
Haon suppressed his pounding heart and gently pulled the front door open.
The front door lock must have been broken, because it just opened wide.
‘If the only purpose was to rob the house, there was no need to go all the way to the lab and kill the homeowner.’
But the culprit had to kill ‘Eunhaon’ and take something from this house as well.
Something important enough to keep in a home protected by an intrusion prevention system rather than a lab.
Given the circumstances, it seemed like the purpose was to conceal something that ‘Eunhaon’ knew.
At this point, the only thing Ha-on could think of was the culprit who killed Joo-yeol’s younger brother.
Even without that, the severity of the problem was the same.
‘Then you’re not trying to kill me again?’
Haon held his aching waist and cried.
I wanted to wash and treat the wound quickly before it got worse, but I was afraid to go home.
It was even scarier to spend the night outside not knowing who the culprit was.
After taking a few deep breaths, I glanced around the house.
‘It’s quiet. I guess there’s still someone here?’
As soon as I stepped through the door, the lights in the living room came on.
At the same time, Haon’s eyes widened. He almost fainted.
Fortunately or unfortunately, the water fountain inside the house seemed to be intact.
The house was still quiet. Ha-on, who had been frozen, let out a sigh of relief.
Only then did I notice the fluttering curtains.
Looking closely, I saw that the living room veranda window was open and a flower pot had fallen outside.
‘… … If I had heard the gunshots in the lab, I would have thought someone had come. I guess they had already escaped.’
I don’t know what they stole, but I hope they stole it properly so it doesn’t come back.
The house was so luxurious that it was breathtaking. I was eager to see it, but now was not the time.
I immediately went to the bathroom to wash off the dirt and blood, found a sewing kit, and started sewing up the side.
“Swoop.”
Haon’s eyes welled up with tears every time the needle passed through his flesh.
After fighting a war for two years, I learned how to do everything.
But I still hated being sick and was scared of it.
“Whew. All done.”
I felt relieved after they put gauze on my stitched side.
When I opened my closet to find clean clothes, my mouth dropped open. There were only clothes that were too revealing or showed off my body lines.
Finally, I closed the closet and dug through the third drawer before I could find an oversized short-sleeved T-shirt.
The sleeves reached to the elbows and the length covered half of the thighs, so it seemed to be men’s clothing.
‘It’s perfect for pajamas.’
I felt refreshed after washing with warm water and putting on clean clothes.
‘I need to get some sleep before I can do anything.’
Haon crawled onto the bed and lay down.
Even though my body was heavy as a thousand pounds, the lace pattern of the red canopy caught my eye. It was very splendid.
The bed was large enough to fit three people with room to spare.
It was a wide and soft bed. I thought to myself, “How long has it been since I’ve slept like this?” as I went to sleep.
‘… … I thought the war was finally over and I could rest, but I ended up in another dimension. I wonder if there’s a party going on there right now?’
Haon tossed and turned.
”Juyeol” will come looking for me. No, he might think I’m dead.’
A sobbing sound was heard.
‘But now that the war is over, everyone is safe. ‘Juyeol’ will be okay too.’
Small hands groped the bedding and hugged the empty pillow.
‘It might take a long time, but I have to go back and tell them that I was alive.’
Haon, who had been rubbing his cheek on the bedding, sat up with a serious expression on his face.
‘I’m in trouble. I can’t sleep.’
I thought I would pass out as soon as I lay down, but my mind was still clear.

The explosion occurred at an insurance company building on the main street.
The building was burning fiercely from the rooftop all the way to the upper floors, and firefighters were struggling to put out the blaze.
Wow!
A large man burst out of the second floor window and smashed it.
He landed with a thud in India, carrying an unconscious man on his shoulders.
“This guy is an arsonist, and it seems he has an accomplice.”
He handed the criminal over to the police and ran to search the area.
The police and citizens were not surprised by his incredible physical abilities.
A tall woman shouted from across the street where a police line had been drawn.
“There’s a wounded man deep in the rubble! We have to lift him out from above!”
She was pointing into the rubble of the building where no one could see.
That didn’t surprise anyone either.
In this world, there are very rare people who awaken special powers around the age of ten.
Most of them become heroes or villains.
“Be careful, the smoke is hot!”
“Is there anyone left in the building?”
They were the Awakened, also known as heroes, who worked together with the police to protect the city, busily helping people at the scene of the accident.
Their clothes, each with a different design, had the goblin pattern, the symbol of the hero, drawn on them.
Since heroes usually move in situations involving awakened villains or disasters, they consider cooperation with the police important. However, not all of them are like that.
A man came rushing into a dark alley.
He was carrying a bag containing insurance documents and cash.
Even when he paused to catch his breath, he looked around, so he seemed to know that he was being chased.
There was no sign of life as everyone in the neighborhood had gathered to see the hero.
“Phew.”
As the man breathed a sigh of relief, a muscular arm appeared from the shadows on the wall.
The black-gloved hand struck the man’s neck mercilessly with the pistol grip.
Boom!
“Ugh!”
The man collapsed without even knowing what was happening. The one who quietly walked out of the shadows was Juyeol.
He is an Awakened being who can completely erase his presence in the shadows, and because of this ability, he was given the nickname Ghost.
‘You’re late.’
Juyeol clicked his tongue at the sight of the building where the flames had not yet been completely put out.
Originally, I should have come right away as soon as I heard the explosion, but I was late because Dr. Eunhaon was acting strangely today.
He dragged the unconscious criminal away and threw him at the police officer’s feet.
“Here’s one.”
Then people started to look around and start murmuring.
