Episode 31 Developers Speak with Code
A few days passed.
I need to slowly create other manuals over time.
That was the original plan.
I had a high level of understanding of the Appletlix library.
Because I have never analyzed other libraries in depth.
Of course, it will take longer.
I thought it would be more annoying the longer it took.
So I kept making excuses and putting it off.
-Thank you. I was just looking for this information.
-Oh! You’re good at organizing.
-Good information for Spring developers.
The response is good, so I have other thoughts.
It was pressed a lot and there were quite a few comments.
“Well. I feel good.”
As I talk to myself, a smile appears on my lips without me realizing it.
As things turned out, I ended up working for a B2B company.
Of course, all my customers were employees of that company.
No matter how much I said thank you, honestly, it still felt like business.
however.
This is kind of like this.
Although it doesn’t feel like there’s a great deal of sincerity.
still.
I felt like doing it.
Of course, if you get cursed at, your motivation drops just as much.
Because there are a lot of praising comments like this now.
For no reason.
‘Let’s write just one more manual.’
I also gained motivation that I never had before.
Earnestness or earnestness.
Another superpower that is a little different from those.
It starts to stir quietly inside my chest.
**
Knock knock.
When I raise my head, I hear a cracking sound in my neck.
I sat there longer than I thought.
-Spring Cloud Gate.
This is a library I use frequently.
But I have never analyzed it closely.
Of course, I didn’t know much about how it worked. I was just like a typical user.
Maybe that’s why.
“Wow. This is so fucking hard.”
Complaints just burst out of my mouth.
It took longer than last time.
He stands up from his seat, pressing his hand on his shoulder.
The chair cushion that had been pressed down slowly raises its head.
“I need to eat something and get some rest.”
After stretching lightly while yawning.
like that.
I came out without thinking about anything.
“Wow. The weather is crazy.”
Regrets are coming.
I came out wearing slippers for no reason’
I thought it would be okay since it was this far ahead.
I have no feeling in my toes.
I crouched down and stumbled into the convenience store.
‘I have to buy it quickly and go home.’
Thinking like that, I grabbed any lunch box that came to hand and waited to pay.
“Excuse me. Oh. No. Pay first.”
A kid who looked to be in elementary school steps back in front of me.
I bow my head slightly and place my lunch box on the counter.
In the meantime, let’s calculate the lunch box first.
The child took a can of tuna and put it back in its place.
He stretches his arms out with his forearms raised and places the cans on the shelf.
But it still seems like there’s not enough money.
He stamps his feet while holding bills and objects in both hands.
He looks back and forth between the price tag and the item with a serious expression.
At that sight.
“Please do this.”
I swiped my card into the card reader with my hand.
A convenience store worker hesitates for a moment at my actions.
It’s okay. Just hurry up and calculate it. I’ll keep urging you.
“13,000 won has been paid.”
Only then does an awkward voice come out of the POS machine.
An elementary school student looking at me with wide eyes.
He just stared blankly at me for a moment.
I immediately came to my senses and grabbed the hem of my clothes.
“It’s really okay. I have the money···”
A banknote held tightly in one hand.
A few crumpled banknotes slowly unfold and bloom like a flower.
“It’s okay. Just take it. I don’t mind. It doesn’t cost much.”
After answering so casually, I was about to go home.
‘Oh my.’
The sound of the black shoes doesn’t come off easily. The lunch box was too heavy.
‘If we do this any further, it will be a nuisance.’
I thought so in my heart, but at the same time, I felt uneasy. The small hole in the child’s pants kept catching my eye.
A child hesitantly holds a bag of items in his hand. His transparent eyes shake from side to side.
so.
‘I don’t know.’
I closed my eyes tightly.
Walk up to the ATM and take out a 50,000 won note.
‘If I just give it to you, you might feel bad.’
Towards the child who is still hesitating like that.
“I’ll definitely pay you back when I earn a lot of money. Okay?”
I blurt out cheap lines without realizing it. I feel so embarrassed saying them myself that I can’t even look the child in the eye.
“It’s okay. It’s really okay.”
A child who clenches his fist and refuses to open his hand to receive money.
Clench your fists and crouch down.
‘I can’t help it,’
Because I don’t think anyone will receive it if I just give it to them.
He threw 50,000 won into the plastic bag he was holding.
And then.
Daughter.
I just came out of the convenience store. The chilly wind hits my nose.
The moment I turned around and started to take a step back home.
at that time.
suddenly.
Daughter.
“Uncle, I can’t take this. I… I have money too.
A child’s voice was heard behind me.
When I hear the word “uncle,” I turn my head without realizing it and look at the elementary school student. Our eyes meet.
uncle.
It was an awkward word to come out of a child’s mouth. I stopped walking at those words.
Even though I was a bit young for my age, I still looked like I was in my early thirties at best.
At that age, kids should be calling me uncle.
I also used the word aunt only after I became an adult.
A child who grew up too quickly.
Looking at the child walking slowly towards me.
Without me knowing.
“What is your dream?”
Expose your breath.
“Yes? Me? I just… want to work quickly and help Mom.”
A child hesitates to answer. The winter wind blows. The wind passes through a small hole. The tip of my nose becomes tingly.
therefore.
It’s so cold.
Maybe it’s because the weather is chilly.
The tip of my nose was so numb.
**
I came back home and closed the front door.
ha.
A sigh escapes me without me realizing it.
“I wonder if you feel hurt because of me.”
I may have misunderstood.
still.
There was no trace of a child in his speech or actions.
There must have been a reason why it had to mature quickly, no matter what.
“I’m worrying for nothing.”
I’ve been acting like a slob a lot, which I don’t normally do.
He was a mature child. His pride might have been hurt by my actions.
It just overlapped with my childhood self, so it wasn’t easy to ignore.
I couldn’t afford to buy new clothes.
I wasn’t a very extroverted person, but as a boy, I often had to wear clothes that were out of place.
So when my clothes got holes, my mom would step on the sewing machine pedal.
The hole was filled with embroidery.
One by one, cute animals like teddy bears and rabbits appeared in shabby clothes.
“That was really good.”
Rather than feeling ashamed, I felt proud.
Because they were my own special clothes.
Just like that for a little while.
Looking back on old memories.
I put my lunch box in the microwave.
A timer that gets smaller and smaller.
I sat on the dining table and stared blankly at the numbers.
-Gee …
A loud vibration makes me rummage through my pockets.
-Hello. Nice to meet you, Jeong. I’m a Spring developer at White Soft. I read the manual well. It’s well written. But there’s no profile about you on the homepage. Where are you affiliated with now?
I got a call from a developer I didn’t know.
I guess I really did a good job of organizing things.
It was worth the time invested.
I feel proud of myself, but at the same time.
“But I didn’t write a profile at all.”
You also realize facts you didn’t know before.
I’ve seen a lot of scammers.
Maybe that’s why.
I didn’t really like people who put their career first.
Among those who introduce themselves as senior developers with several years of experience.
Because I’ve never seen anyone do that job fully.
so.
[IT Solution at Noon]
As it turns out, I didn’t write my resume on the homepage.
Without realizing it, I habitually omitted both my name and my career history.
“It’s ambiguous. Do I really have to use this?”
I participated in some projects.
I have over a dozen years of development experience.
What a great position it was in which company.
I didn’t want to tell the whole story like that.
That’s not true either.
I also thought it would be a bit awkward to look like a developer with very little experience.
‘Let’s just show it subtly. That would be better.’
Well, this wasn’t a very appealing method, but it was better than posting my profile on the community.
After thinking about it like that.
I immediately grabbed my sister’s doorknob.
I press the computer’s power button to start writing a new post. The cooling fan spins and the monitor lights up.
-Graphics 32.
Delphi graphics library.
It’s an old, worn-out memory.
Maybe when I was in my third year.
There is a problem with the Delphi graphics library called Graphics32 where Korean characters are not displayed properly.
Korean is processed in 2 bytes, but since this library is based on English, it is set to process only 1 byte.
So I modified the code so that the library would handle 2 bytes instead of just 1.
I wrote this post while recalling old memories. I typed on the keyboard at a fast pace.
It was a simple issue and modifying the library wasn’t difficult.
Honestly, this isn’t a useful tip that would help anyone.
Still, there is one reason why I am posting this.
“Because it’s an old and outdated method.”
Nowadays, there are good development libraries and frameworks that handle this very well.
You don’t need to make it that complicated, just change ASCII to Unicode.
It’s a useless technology now that the world has become a better place.
A post written under duress to prove and show off my long career.
‘To be honest, it’s just a show.’
I also don’t feel like revealing who I am.
So I just tried to go in the direction of showing everything I know how to do.
Originally, in this field, skill is more important than experience.
After posting this Delphi-related article, I go back to the living room.
Ding.
Just then, the microwave stops. Oh, it’s hot. I carefully take out my lunch box and place it on the table.
“Let’s eat and get some sleep.”
In the process of breaking the wooden chopsticks in half.
again.
-Jiiiiiiiiwiiwing. -Jiiiiiiiiwiiwing
The vibration rang. Who is it again? Frowning, he put his half-broken chopsticks down on the table.
-Sorry. I’m Jaeshrong, the Spring developer you contacted earlier. I really enjoyed reading the manual you wrote. We have a conference in Singapore next month. If it’s okay, can we talk?
That’s the developer from earlier.
however.
“Jasherong?”
A familiar name.
Reshurong.
World famous Spring developer.
I wonder if it’s a fake. I click on the ID to see if it’s really Jaeshirong. I touch the screen with my fingertips.
If you follow the link from Jaeshirong, you will be taken to the Macbook page.
