World Domination through Planet Development - Chapter 35

Episode 35. The Korean Peninsula Union Becomes Official
As First Secretary Kim Chol-ryong had announced, North Korea officially requested observation of the nuclear weapons dismantlement through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The target countries are South Korea and the United States.
The communist countries that could be called North Korea’s long-time friends. China and Russia were left out.
In response, the U.S. government has responded that it will cooperate very willingly.
Of course, it may be understandable given the position of the United States, which calls itself the world’s policeman, but there is another big reason.
This is because of the position of the Democratic Party, the current ruling party in the United States.
There is no strong presidential candidate coming forward, and the current administration’s approval rating is not that high.
Naturally, given the prevailing scenario where the next administration would go to the Republican Party, it was difficult to give up this level of political performance.
The negotiations for the elimination of nuclear weapons proceeded very smoothly.
The main topic, in short, is North Korea’s openness and reform.
The goal is to normalize diplomatic relations with South Korea and the United States by completely eliminating nuclear weapons.
There was a similar situation a few years ago, but North Korea gave us what it had to give and took almost nothing. North Korea was very angry.
That is why no one could have predicted that this kind of situation would happen again, but North Korea has reached a new phase with its regime being completely overturned.
If there was such a superficial purpose, there was another purpose that North Korea truly desired. To be precise, it was Kim Chol-ryong’s purpose.
It was precisely the unification of political and economic barriers between the North and the South. That was what Jeong-woo wanted and the goal that Kim Cheol-ryeong followed.
And the process is like this.
“At that moment, the South Korean presidential plane is landing at Pyongyang Sunan International Airport.”
A KBC reporter was reporting live from Pyongyang’s Sunan International Airport.
This was possible because the press and nuclear experts were allowed to enter the country ahead of the President and the US Secretary of State’s visit to North Korea.
Wheeeeeeing.
Suddenly, the presidential plane stopped and the step car approached the plane. A carpet was laid out in front of the stairs, and the North Korean honor guard lined up on both sides.
“President Kang is now coming down.”
With the reporter’s commentary, President Kang, the U.S. Secretary of State, and their entourage began to come out.
For the first time, President Kang slowly came down the steps of the stepcar, followed by the US Secretary of State.
Below them, North Korean Foreign Ministry officials were stationed to welcome them.
“The person facing the President of the Republic of Korea in front appears to be North Korea’s Foreign Minister Choe Hee-sun.”
As President Kang steps onto the floor, Foreign Minister Choi Hee-sun approaches and offers to shake his hand.
They smiled at each other and created a friendly atmosphere.
After exchanging brief greetings, they boarded the prepared vehicle and headed off.
“… The movement has just begun. The place they are moving to now is what can be called the North Korean government… .”
As the reporter said, the place we arrived at was the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
This is where Kim Jeong-dong previously died and where Kim Cheol-ryeong now works.
“This is the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea. Now, as you enter the headquarters, you will witness the historic scene of the leaders of North and South Korea finally meeting again.”
Finally, the vehicle doors opened and the President of the Republic of Korea, the Secretary of State of the United States, and their entourage got out and entered the main building.
The reporters also moved to their seats and followed him into the main building.
Inside the main office.
The place where Kim Jong-dong and the President of the Republic of Korea met several years ago.
At that very moment, the North Korean leader and the South Korean president faced each other again.
“It seems like the two leaders are exchanging cordial words. It must be a truly touching scene.”
As the reporter explained, the two kept laughing and talking to each other.
Then they took a picture holding hands with reporters.
Soon they entered the conference room.
A diplomatic battle to explain practical steps toward nuclear disarmament and squeeze as much out of each other as possible.
But as I said, Kim Cheol-ryeong has a hidden purpose.
It is to enable PDC business to proceed legally in North Korea.
Of course, he could gain something through this diplomatic war, but it was not the ultimate goal that Jeong-woo wanted, so it was unacceptable.
So, the meeting involving South, North, and America was able to end surprisingly smoothly.
The North has been generous in accepting the proposal as it is a path to peace, and has taken steps to move things forward.
Thanks to this, it was the US side that was delighted.
The country called North Korea has an image it has created for itself so far: that of a terrorist state.
If successful results are achieved here, it will be a diplomatic achievement that will transform that nuclear terrorist nation.
The meeting ended and the schedule was concluded like that.
Going forward, all that remains is for the working-level staff to stay in North Korea and participate in the nuclear dismantlement process.
But then, the North suddenly requested an official one-on-one meeting. In this atmosphere, there was no way President Kang could not go.
He had an exclusive meeting with Kim Cheol-ryeong.
“What… why…?”
“President Kang, haven’t you forgotten something?”
“What are you talking about?”
“I mean, the union.”
A slurred voice came out of President Kang. I wondered why he didn’t say it.
“that….”
“Have you made a decision?”
“First of all, I personally think positively.”
This was the truth.
It would be good for President Kang if this truly remains as his achievement.
At this point, it is impossible not to know that Kim Cheol-ryeong is sincere. He is putting all his efforts into normalizing diplomacy, even saying that he will abolish nuclear weapons.
However, if Kim Cheol-ryong himself and the political situation within North Korea do not support it, it will end up as nothing more than a wasted effort.
If that’s the case, it’s better not to do it.
Frankly, I don’t know what the US is thinking, but the South Korean government had mixed opinions about this visit to North Korea itself. That’s because it seemed like safety inside North Korea would not be guaranteed.
“exactly?”
Kim Cheol-ryeong answered with a smile throughout.
“However, I don’t think it’s time to discuss the alliance yet. I think it would be right for First Secretary Kim Cheol-ryeong to show us a bit more of what he promised, and for us to respond to that. Then, we can discuss it step by step.”
Nod nod.
Kim Cheol-ryeong nodded with a smile on his face.
“I see. That’s true too.”
Is that true?
President Kang, who had expected that he would be able to use some strong persuasion, was momentarily puzzled by the unexpected response.
But after that, the two parted ways after talking about nothing special.
North Korea’s nuclear dismantlement procedures were verified over the next few days.
“We, the United States of America, recognize that North Korea’s nuclear weapons have been officially and completely dismantled. Going forward, the United States of America will work closely with South Korea to normalize diplomatic relations with North Korea….”
An official announcement from the U.S. Secretary of State.
The United States has announced that North Korea has completely dismantled its nuclear weapons.
Naturally, the United States already had an accurate grasp of the number and location of North Korea’s nuclear weapons.
Of course, Kim Cheol-ryeong had no reason to hide or keep this a secret, so he carried out the work perfectly according to Jeong-woo’s orders and disposed of the exact amount that the United States had predicted.
This is something that the United States cannot help but be very pleased about.
Their relationship has improved so much that historically, North American relations have never improved to this extent.
Of course, they wondered inside why they were going to such lengths, but now that the matter was settled, they set off on their way home.
And shortly after they left, North Korea’s official propaganda video was released online in a big way.
[… He promised that in the future, only permanent and endless peace and prosperity will remain on our Korean Peninsula under the leadership of the great First Secretary Comrade Kim Chol-ryong. Through this meeting, First Secretary Comrade Kim Chol-ryong proposed that the North and the South establish a joint system as the first step toward becoming one and strengthening their friendship, and the President of the Republic of Korea accepted this… .]
The presidential plane returns after the nuclear disarmament agreement.
The US Secretary of State began to laugh as if something funny had happened.
“Wow, seriously?”
The US Secretary of State, who had been putting on a very American air, began to glance at President Kang.
President Kang, sensing that gaze, looked at him to see what was going on.
“President Kang, you are a much more cunning person than you think.”
What the heck, what is that author talking about now?
Naturally, he had no idea what was being said.
Just as he was about to ask him something, an attendant suddenly came up behind him and whispered.
“Mr. President, North Korea just officially announced that they had agreed to pursue unification between the South and the North during a private meeting with you.”
What… What?! These kids?!
Who the hell does diplomacy like this? When did I ever accept it?
President Kang was so flustered that he couldn’t speak and just looked at his attendant. Suddenly, the attendant’s expression caught his eye.
A truly joyful sight.
Looking at his expression, President Kang could sense something for a moment.
The aspirations of the people.
I could feel it in his expression.
Clearly, he was only looking at the face of one of his attendants, but strangely, he saw in him the wish that everyone in South Korea had been hoping for.
That fleeting intuition.
That served as the motivation that determined President Kang’s next move.
“Ahem. Uh… Let’s close our eyes for a bit.”
President Kang took a pose as if he was tired.
It doesn’t give a clear answer.
“Oh, yes! Sorry. Please rest.”
And the attendant turned back with a look of ‘I see, that’s how it is.’
President Kang pretended to close his eyes and remained lost in thought the whole way.
The presidential plane arrived at Seoul Airport in Seongnam.
President Kang opened his eyes that had been closed.
I didn’t sleep at all.
As I got off the plane with my entourage, the chief of security approached me.
“Mr. President, it will take some time as all the external entrances are currently surrounded by reporters.”
The chief of security conveyed the message with an embarrassed expression.
But President Kang paid no attention and asked.
“Really? How many have you gathered?”
“It is understood that at least several thousand people gathered.”
If only reporters had gathered, it would have been a huge number. They have even requested police force for control.
This is a passage that shows how shocking the announcement of the establishment of the union was.
But President Kang answered with a resolute expression.
“Then let’s go right away.”
“yes?”
The security chief looks embarrassed.
I can confidently say that President Kang has never once asked to appear in front of reporters on his own.
“Let’s go where the reporters are.”
“Oh, yes! I understand.”
Of course, Seoul Airport is a military airport, so civilians cannot enter and exit without permission.
Because of this, reporters blocked all the entrances and exits to the airport and were waiting for the president to come out.
The reporters who saw the president’s vehicle coming out along the access road began to shout in unison.
“Mr. President!! Is what North Korea announced true?!!”
“Is it true that unification will happen?!!”
Shouts from all over the place.
President Kang, who was inside the vehicle, was also shouting loudly.
President Kang stopped his vehicle and calmly got out.
“Mr. President!!! … Is that right?!!”
“…Is it true?!!”
Reporters shout more as President Kang appears.
President Kang raised his hand toward the reporters who were controlled by security guards and could not approach him.
The reporters who had been watching President Kang raise his hand quietly soon became quiet.
Ahem.
When the uproar in the room died down, President Kang opened his mouth.
“… I think the people will have many questions. Since this is the place, I will be brief. Our people have been divided for a very long time. I also believed that one day, we would be united again. And as a servant of the people, I am honored to have been given that responsibility. I will do my best to take a step forward on the path to unification during my term. Thank you.”
President Kang bowed his head politely after finishing his speech.
A moment of silence.
Again, President Kang bends over and looks at the reporters.
Indeed, his prediction was not wrong.
Their expressions were identical to those of the attendants before.
“Mr. President, then this time…!!”
“I just want to ask you one thing!!”
The president got into his vehicle, leaving the once again noisy press behind.
